you guys should think a few times before popping in your disc and giving the population and xblive charts your vote, the population numbers are sinking lower and lower, if they were to continue to sink we might actually be able to get a halo game we want to play instead of one designed to have a F-tier movie packaged in, a half a page manual, dorito/dew xp bullshit, preorder dlc skin graphics, pretty much every petty childish piece of garbage marketing ploy in the book, NO RANKED MM, and shitty shitty short campaigns which are just push buttons to get to next COOL DUDEBRO scene all so IGN can give it a 9.8/10. Seriously!?

we can and will have a halo that is ran at a decent framerate, a game with dedicated servers. believe.

do it for halo ce and halo 2. the #'s are low enough where each individual can make a difference.

that is my plea. thanks to anyone who read this.

In this type of situation, it's best to suck it up and do what EA did when they found out countless people exploited a promo code and got tons of games for free.

One user in the Halo thread stated it seems to be an XBL ban but I haven't gotten any other reports of users getting XBL bans only H4 bans. Guess we'll see for sure if/when this picks up.

So how is this working exactly? It sounds like they have an automatic banning thing that's just making this mess worse. Surely it's not just banning anyone who had access to the Crimson download, considering people who bought the LE should have that content pass.

I got the map pack download/specialization/"here is your gift" code in my email and downloaded it before I even heard about the mixup, as I'm sure many people did. Am I liable to be banned from Halo 4? It's not right to ban people who did it after hearing about the mixup for multiple reasons, including the fact that 1. 343 came out and said it was a promotion and 2. how would they even be able to tell?

Hope they sort this out pronto. I think the game is great, but all of these weird PR mistakes are really grating.

Highly highly doubt that this is actual what's going on. There are other factors involved which will undoubtedly come to light over the next few days. But go ahead and have your few pages of bitchfest about how evil M$ is, how shitty Xbox Live is, and how terrible Halo 4 is.

Playing those maps for free is like STEALING. I say ban and charge their credit card for the cost of the maps that the thieves enjoyed at Microsoft's expense.
