Why would such an advanced race, WHO CAN TELEPORT, USE WEAPONS THAT REQUIRE AMMUNITION AND A COOL DOWN.

I feel like that is such a weird oversight that these folks have buildings that float and move independently of the main structure still have guns like the bolt shot. Do they just keep it around to think of the old days?

In my head, the Prometheans have no use for anything other than the binary rifle....which...2 rounds per clip? God, they were geniuses but no wonder they got overrun by the flood, just so terrible at thinking about war.

PROBABLY OBAMA'S FAULT.
Obama's Halo.

Just finished the Black Ops 2 campaign.

What in the actual fuck is going on (after the credits). I don't even. Completely undermines the awesome campaign.

Come to think of it, did they ever make a big deal out of Requiem? It's a whole alien world, yet it was more a backdrop then an actual character. Kind of strange as this is new, it’s needs a bit of mystery and explanation. Yet through the whole campaign it felt like everybody knew everything about the planet. Seems like a huge missed opportunity.

How about we stop talking about what the Campaign did wrong and focus our attention on what it did right!

The in-game interaction between Cortana and Chief was surprisingly interesting. Was paced good throughout the campaign.

I think they linked two job postings that are not really related. The MMO thing comes from support infrastructure for future Halo multiplayer. Seeing as next-gen is just around the corner, new hardware and new online infrastructure means that there will be a higher player counts.

Looks amazing, voice acting is superb, animations are great. Story was decent, and had cool characters. Some fun encounters. Etc.

I like campaign. Not without its faults, but I had fun with it. Those Forerunner ruins/buildings are SO much nicer and awesome to look at now.

If Halo MMO happens, RIP franchise.

Um.

I do not understand how it is possible to go positive in Big Team Battle. There is no logical reason any player could ever go positive in the video game equivalent of a Micheal Bay movie.

Stay back and instead of getting in a vehicle, go for the sniper, or watch the active players and help them with team shots. I go positive 80-90% of the time.

Only get in one of the following vehicles (in order of most useful to least): Gauss Hog, Tank, Mantis.

Use ghost only with Wheelman perk, ditch it when it starts beeping.

Hopefully MMO is just literally 'massively multiplayer'.

As in, 256 player Halo, which I would be TOTALLY down with, the series thrives on solid vehicular combat, which a large player count would infinitely benefit.

Halo 4 takes itself too seriously in regards to campaign. I'll even go as far to say that it has no real atmosphere (ending struck a few chords, I admit... but that was only because of how Bungie built Cortana up over the last 10 years. 343i didn't really add to it if I had to be honest). Bungie wasn't afraid to lay back a little and make things less serious than they probably needed to be - all because it was fun - which gave it a unique atmosphere, IMO. Earth being attacked by aliens? Who cares! Grab a mongoose and some rockets and take that Scarab down! Were encounters within The Covenant or Halo (levels from 3.. any apply, just these two came into my mind first) make any real sense? Not really, but they were designed to be fun.

Fun gives a game longevity. Halo 4 suffers from (and I really do hate to say it) the same problems as the Modern Warfare campaigns; enemies are thrown at you whenever possible with seemingly no real thought put behind it and playing through it more than once feels like a chore. It really doesn't help that there's no variety at all (due to super scripted events.. Mammoth mission can SMD) and that exploration is hindered by constant remarks by Cortana and multiple waypoint popups (plus the usual kill barriers).

In comparison to things like Halo 3, where there are so many ways to tackle a mission (not so much as in where you go, but how you get there) it really is disappointing. I feel like the Star Wars mission at the end was an attempt to branch out and give us something interesting, but even that feels like a chore to do more than once.

While I think the music is fine, it was poorly implemented into the game. Poorly mixed and poorly cued to the visuals.

I've really only listened to it in the OST.

You're right though, the mixing is pretty bad. With explosions and other stuff going off, I can't hear characters or music properly.

Don't even get me started on the fucking downsampling in cutscenes either. Fuck. That. Noise.

It ain't happeneninginging. Engineers with specific server skills gathered in that arena are globally applicable and useful.

So Impact, Ravine and Erosion are developer made maps in terms of they fact that they have custom artwork and a custom 3D space and so I really dont see why they are not in matchmaking.

I am all for a no forge rule but the forgeworld maps should be in matchmaking simply because they are actually developer created.

OT I know, but Senator Inouye has just died. He has represented Hawaii in Congress, first in the House, then in the Senate, since Hawaii became a state in 1959. He was a hero.

On April 21, 1945, Inouye was grievously wounded while leading an assault on a heavily-defended ridge near San Terenzo in Tuscany, Italy called Colle Musatello. The ridge served as a strongpoint along the strip of German fortifications known as the Gothic Line, which represented the last and most dogged line of German defensive works in Italy. As he led his platoon in a flanking maneuver, three German machine guns opened fire from covered positions just 40 yards away, pinning his men to the ground. Inouye stood up to attack and was shot in the stomach; ignoring his wound, he proceeded to attack and destroy the first machine gun nest with hand grenades and fire from his Thompson submachine gun. After being informed of the severity of his wound by his platoon sergeant, he refused treatment and rallied his men for an attack on the second machine gun position, which he also successfully destroyed before collapsing from blood loss.

As his squad distracted the third machine gunner, Inouye crawled toward the final bunker, eventually drawing within 10 yards. As he raised himself up and cocked his arm to throw his last grenade into the fighting position, a German inside fired a rifle grenade that struck him on the right elbow, severing most of his arm and leaving his own primed grenade reflexively "clenched in a fist that suddenly didn't belong to me anymore".[13] Inouye's horrified soldiers moved to his aid, but he shouted for them to keep back out of fear his severed fist would involuntarily relax and drop the grenade. As the German inside the bunker reloaded his rifle, Inouye pried the live grenade from his useless right hand and transferred it to his left. As the German aimed his rifle to finish him off, Inouye tossed the grenade off-hand into the bunker and destroyed it. He stumbled to his feet and continued forward, silencing the last German resistance with a one-handed burst from his Thompson before being wounded in the leg and tumbling unconscious to the bottom of the ridge. When he awoke to see the concerned men of his platoon hovering over him, his only comment before being carried away was to gruffly order them to return to their positions, since, as he pointed out, "nobody called off the war!"[14]

Why yes Halo 4, I would love to play an entire game of BTB with only two teammates, along with all the complete BS that accompanies BTB. And I still went neutral.

Have you looked at those maps? Relay seems okay, but Settler looks totally mediocre (base-to-base DMRs lol) and Erosion's default variant looks like a literal garbage dump. Just a bunch of crap placed around willy-nilly. I don't want to play 2/3rds of those forge defaults ever.
