DJMAX Technika tune (Vita) Features music from KARA.

Don't know if it's already been posted, but I was playing around with it, looks like you can swipe instead of hit every note individually – As long as the next note in the swipe is diagonally placed from the note you just played. Can't do horizontal swipes.

Swiping method saved me a ton, just need to make sure your finger is on the note when the bar goes over it.

Never got a shipping notice but my copy got here today via USPS.

One question if anyone knows - does every song have both a beginner and advance chart? Or are some stuck with only beginner / star mixing charts?

Won't be much longer! But you might be in a position to know: isn't there a spreadsheet or something of GAF Vitabros? Does this game need its own list?

Sounds similar to the arcade. I wonder if the goofy two-finger method still works too (have one finger at the correct X coordinate and another at the correct Y coordinate, and you essentially form four points where the arcade will register a hit, with your finger positions being the opposite sides of a rectangle).

Pop/Club mixing is in, but the charts have been redone to use three rows instead of four.

Wow, It's hard to say it but I am even worse than the last time I played at the arcade. This smaller screen is taking a lot of getting used to. Also, i had to turn off rear touch pad, not easy to play with that at all.

God, I can't figure out a comfortable way to hold this to do back-touch. I like how that works and I actually find back-tapping works better than the touchscreen stuff. I hate having my hand obscure the screen during dense sections. Honestly I kind of miss the button approach of portable 3 even though I do like this too. Does using a vita-grip help? I'd rather not use a stand as I usually play on the couch.

I've also noticed a problem during some songs (haven't played very many of them yet) - sometimes, I notice this more often during fever mode in pop-mixing, but other times as well. A bunch of the song's tracks just stop playing. It's like touching the dots on-screen are failing to trigger the sounds they are supposed to, and this usually lasts for the rest of the song once it kicks in. This results in a karaoke-version effect. Has anyone else had this happen?

The stream already happened anyway, it was last night. The recording is available if you still want to check it out whenever you're able to.

I also streamed Theatrhythm Final Fantasy (iOS) since it came out last night as well. Technika stream ended abruptly because of Dark Falz on PSO2.

Oh woops I didn't even see the posted date as yesterday. And I was watching / stream chatting during Theatrhythm! Always up for otogestream.

Were you doing HDMI capture for Vita as well or?

Nope, right now there's no way to do a direct feed for Vita without owning a devkit. Had to use a webcam off to the side, and the angle is pretty terrible because of physical limitations. I was initially trying to use my phone instead, but Justin.tv's streaming software on Android simply doesn't work anymore. At least by being forced to stream from PC I was able to get direct audio, but I missed the first part of the Dark Falz fight by not being able to idle the game to save my spot in the VH blocks >.>;

That's happened to me randomly a few times.

That's happened to me randomly a few times.

At first it seemed to go away after 1 song, but today it seems to be happening 50% of the songs I try playing, partway through the song. Do you have the PSN version too, out of curiosity? Or did you buy the physical version?

Maybe I'll try re-downloading and installing tonight once I've backed the save up to PS+ storage - it's kind of getting on my nerves.

'In The T-Dot' might be the most unintentionally hilarious song in the DJMax canon. No beef with Toronto, but not entirely sure how that rousing Canadian anthem ended up in this package.

Yeah, I have the PSN version. I would presume it's an issue with the game itself, probably a bug they'll need to patch.

If it's happening with 50% of songs that's awful. It makes it way more difficult and unfun.

Oh hi, KARA, nice to meet y--what's that? You'd like to take up residence in my brain? *sigh* Fine. But it's really rude to just barge in uninvited. :|

Oh shit!
I might get this today!

Hopefully, both things I ordered. Since I couldn't order the limited edition back then, I ordered the regular game and the limited edition of the OST for the second game (to have "something limited and cool"). :p

Originally was sent 2 trackging numbers, but the first's status one hasn't been updated since then; while that one (the second one) is "Out for Delivery" already! :)

Mine showed up yesterday. My box was kinda dinged, and I was annoyed until I started playing. Fuck it. This rules. So much.

Damn! Everything is way better than expected. The menus are cool and sleek, the quality of the videos, the songs, the production values are top notch. Glad I got it.

P.S.
I kinda suck, but I expected that; since I can only tplay Guitar Hero/Rock Band games on Easy. At least here, I'm playing on Normal. :p

I cannot figure out a good way of holding this without my hands obscuring the screen.

I also have a gimpy left hand.. which makes it a little difficult.

I'm not even talking about back touch stuff, either :( Simply the touchscreen stuff.

Really liking the good, vibrant colors, good production of videos... but I'm kinda wishing this was like old DJ Max Portable PSP games with the reliance on button presses.

Still giving it some time, but yeah. I'm liking it? But it doesn't have its hooks in me like the DJM PSP games.

I'd like to order this but after getting Black square and not getting to 70% of the songs available, I'm a little worried if I should bother with this.

Also, is this touch screen ONLY? I'd really prefer to use buttons but if it's touch only that's a con for me. I really want something new for my vita (last purchase was pinball tables) to hold me over until DOA5+. Wish there was a demo or something.

Oh man, these diagonal slide notes might as well just automatically break my combo. I cannot time them for the life of me.

You have to go through them faster than you might think.

I cannot figure out a good way of holding this without my hands obscuring the screen.

I hold the Vita with my left hand, index finger on the top, ring finger on the top, and the thumb curling over the left side for balance. This leaves my right hand free for the front touchscreen while the middle finger of my left hand takes the back touchscreen notes. Works pretty well for me, though every hand is different of course.

Alternatively, you can just lay the Vita down on a flat surface for front touchscreen only play.

Yes, it is touchscreen only. It's a port of the touchscreen only Technika arcade game.

Bought this over PSN last night (couldn't be bothered waiting for shipping.) Production values are amazing!!!! This is my first DJmax game so I suck, plenty of room to get better though.

Oh and I can't get that Jumpin Jumpin Jumpin Up song out of my head!!!!

After playing through Star Mixing three times (easy, normal, then hard), I feel ready to graduate to Pop Mixing. Wow, this is the first time I'm loving back touch in any game ever, even though my brain can't process some of the notes that require front and back touch at the same time. I wish I had 3 hands, though.

Some major slacking on the OT on my end; there's a lot of amazing work done by Takuya so far that we really need to show off soon! Keep the names and impressions and stuff coming though!

Via Pentavision Global's Facebook, it appears Technika Tune is in the running for Sony's "PS Vita Game of the Year (PSN only)"... even though physical copies exist...

Get out there and vote! http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/12/14/vote-for-your-favorite-playstation-games-of-2012-now/

And a bit off topic, but I was finally able to clear Watch Your Step HD on Technika 3 during a weekend trip. So much fun.

I actually find easy difficulty charts (like Star Mixing) harder to play in this game. Sure, in Pop Mixing chart will be more complex, but you are "playing" more distinguishable part of the track.
Parts like "here are the drums, but you're only supposed to slowly tap every third note" always mess me up.

Started playing this today. It has the most impressive presentation I've seen in a rhythm game I think.

Is there a mission mode? I can't see one.

Is there a mission mode? I can't see one.

Nope, no mission mode.

I'm up to 5-star songs in Pop Mixing, which means I've gotten past the basic problem of "WTF how do I hit these notes without screwing up my combo" to the much more elegant and refined problem of "WTF how do I read these notes and then hit them without screwing up my combo." This leads to lots of spastic jabbing and swiping and subsequent restarts. (Hi, La Campanella!) I'm loving the game, though; it's definitely got its hooks in me.

Just started this. Damn, that intro video is pretty and catchy as hell.

The menus are incredibly stylish and the UI is easy to make sense of. This game works incredibly well with touch controls, it's amazing.

Should i purchase the digital or physical version?

If you have the space for it digitally I'd suggest that. It's likely going to be cheaper unless you somehow find a physical copy on sale somewhere since it's $45 on PSN and $50 for a physical copy. But the main factor is that music games, for me, are something I randomly go to and tend to have a long life to them as I like to play them off and on over a long period of time. Having it available without having to swap out games is really nice. I know I wouldn't play it as much if I had to swap it out every time I felt the itch.

I apologize, but what kind of game this is? A musical game similar to Guitar Hero/Rockband and their ilk? I read the wiki but it just explain the gameplay modes but not what kind of gameplay I can expect if I buy this.

Seems interesting. Can someone explain to me about its gameplay, and what makes it enjoyable?
