That Pokemon is close, but no cigar.
I find tangrowth and magmortar more offensive - at least garbador was somewhat creative - the afore mentioned two pokemon probably took all of a minute to design.

well that's another thing isnt it, how well can they illustrate differing environments like say a jungle or rainforest that doesnt look any different that what we currently have as forests and plains and mountains etc. I guess the most important differentiating factor is the pokemon themselves really (and i guess some different tree models and music).

Probably not since US and European Pokémon Company outlets are advertising January 8th as well.
I'd bet on the announcement being at a reasonable hour in all of these time zones.

Whether or not it's going to happen as soon as the clock rolls over is unknown (I hope it does).
It could happen at 10 PM EST if they are aiming to show whatever it is at midday in Japan.

They should really increase the difficulty. The only difficult time I can actually recall was with Silver at one of the starting gyms with her Miltank and the freaking Rollout. The games would be so much better if they were hard. Teams should be random so you can't just reload forcing you to improvise everytime. A fire gym leader should have 5 decent/strongish random fire and mixed types then their signature pokemon. They should also have random attacks chosen from their movesets.
Using items in battle should be prohibited (excluding stat boosters). Unless they add something where the opponent has same amount of items as you do. For example if you are against the league master and you have 5 max revives, he should have 5 as well.
Post-league is also too easy. Once you beat the league every trainer should get a huge difficulty boost.

You know what they should do for the next game? Using Pokemon as tools.
There should be a Pokemon that's like a backpack. Maybe they can turn Munchlax into a backpack! Pikachu can be a portable charger/power supply. There's already Rotom and its many transformations. The game just writes itself!

Well the most recent games had a hard mode but obtainable in solely the most obtuse way imaginable. One must remember the target demographic for pokemon are still kids as young as even 6 , though all this really means is that the games should have difficulty settings ...in a way that isnt dumb and annoying.

Nintendo should make a Pokemon game
for people who played Red/Blue when they were new, instead of people who weren't born when they came out.

Luvdisc is the best source for Heart Scales...pretty darn useful I say.

NO KEYS(well maybe keys for other interesting and actually reasonable or fun stuff, but not that). Just have it an option in the menu from the start darn it.

The fact that it was specifically infrared was infuriating. Had a couple friends try to use a hacked save on a flashcart so they could start with it in their White 2 copies. Their reactions were amusing when they discovered it didn't work with local wi-fi, like the save transfer did.
You're able to get a guaranteed 4 a day in B2/W2. To hell with that thing.

In gen 3 yeah but entralink missioms are sooo much easier to farm with.
It annoys me so much that Luvdisc doesn't evolve into Alomomola.

You know what I think could really benefit the franchise? An hybrid between random encounters and visible enemies. This would be really easy to implement in a 3D game. Imagine you've just got out of the first town and went into the tall grass.... random encounter with a Pidgey! After you beat the Pidgey, though, every Pidgey in the game would become visible. Some benefits I can think:
1) Like every other RPG without random encounters, you can actually avoid battles. No more endless encounters with Geodudes, Zubats, Tentacools? I'm all for it.
2) Because your first encounter with each Pokemon is still random, you still have that sense of discover. It's almost as if says "A new challenger approaches", and you actually get excited instead of angry about the coming battle.
3) Completing your Pokedex would actually feel rewarding, since every Pokemon you add to it, you add to the very world of the game. After a few minutes, you can actually see all the Pidgeys, Caterpies and Rattatas roaming around Route 1, and the world would actually feel alive.
4) The post-game and Pokemon training would be much less of a chore. You need those specific effort points? No more walking aimlessly in a cave while hoping your next encounter will be with that specific Pokemon. Instead, just go there and fight that specific Pokemon.

Who knows! But multiple region pimping of the news to come means it has to do with mainline games I bet.
It's almost mean what Game Freak refuses to let Flareon have. I still don't understand why it doesn't have Flare Blitz.
And as if to add insult to injury, it can learn Dig and Bite but not Earthquake and Crunch. Are there even a lot of fully evolved Pokemon that can learn Bite but not Crunch?
Me too. Luvdisc will be a bit less useless with Eviolite.
About Luvdisc and Alomomola, there is other Pokemon in the same situation:
Yeah.. Unown and Sigilyph.
Sigilyph should be Unown evolution, both are Psychic and are very similar after all.

While it would make unkwown more worthwhile than a "collect the alphabet" sidequest, I just dont see it as much as luvdisc and alomoloblabla
they could conceivably retcon it by making it an item trade evolution
Or give them a common pre-evolution like they did with Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan. I don't know why anyone would choose to evolve their Pokemon into a Luvdisc instead of an Alomomola though.
I realized because I missed everything between Gold and B&W2, I only know half the pokemon you guys talk about. Them Gens 3&4 I missed. Only know a couple of them, like Arceus... Beautiul.

Uhh...not sure what that means exactly but this is most likely Gen VI or Ruby and Sapphire remakes for the 3DS.

I think he means he wants someone to go through the gen 3 and 4 pokemon, with probably focus put on the best/worst/most important. But yea, now i'm confused on what he meant.
If gen 6 is announced, expect a lot of "can't wait for a fire/fighting starter finally!!!!11" posts
