seriously, if any of you guys buy any of those nes games and you're over 20, you need a smack

What in the world does being over 20 have to do with it? If anything, it makes more sense for older gamers to buy them because a) they probably have more disposable income to play around with and b)they'll be drawn in by childhood nostalgia.

snes line-up is disappointingly sparse.
i know they're probably retaining super metroid for some kind of metroid prime 3 promo thing, but...

GOD D***IT.

kobun, what could be the reason for the release of all the extra snes games in japan but not over here? it's atrocious. it's unacceptable.

worst of all, it makes me sad.

We haven't seen the complete US VC list yet, have we?

If so, would it be wrong for me to assume we'll see more titles shortly?

It's not even like these are games that never made it over or weren't popular. The SNES list is really where we get screwed. SMW? Castlevania IV? Zelda:LTTP? Fire Emblem?? In what universe should these games not be coming here at the same time? It almost seems like it has to be an error.

The Japanes SNES list is single-handedly better than the entire US VC list. :(

I don't get why there's only one Nintendo 64 game, even on the Japanese list. You'd think Ubisoft would've wanted Rayman 2 for some cross-promotional opportunities. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask probably wouldn't have been a bad idea either.

There's nothing in Nintendo's press release that would suggest that this is a truncated list. They say about 30 games by the end of December, then list 31 games.

Where's Star Fox 64? *cries*

Do you think Konami will bring AXELAY (Snes) to the VC?
oh I missed this game...

Nintendo <3 Japan. Also NOA is starting to show their incompetence. The fumbling of DS Generations titles, overpricing stuff like the nunchaku and fubaring the VC list.

Shame shame shame NOA.

SEGA Genesis

* Sonic the Hedgehog
* Altered Beast
* Golden Axe
* Columns
* Ecco the Dolphin
* Gunstar Heroes
* Space Harrier II
* Toe Jam & Earl
* Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine

TurboGrafx-16

* Bonk's Adventure
* Super Star Soldier
* Victory Run
* Bomberman '93
* Dungeon Explorer

Those two lists pee all over the NES list. They have a GREAT lineup overall but they need to whip out some better NES era games like Wizards and Warriors, Lolo, Bubble Bobble, Ninja Gaiden, etc.

New Zealand story should be on there to even though its not a NES game. :D

Honestly, Sony and Microsoft should take note.

Those games feature Nintendo characters though.

Well, yeah. They'd still need to get the Bond rights, but it doesn't sound like they have to deal with Microsoft. Presumably Microsoft owns the character rights on Perfect Dark, Conker and Banjo-Kazooie though.

Its really dissaponting but really all the games will get there eventally so I guess I can wait.

Gunstar was a nice surprise. I'll get that with mario and bomberman, and sim city.

It really needs Earthbound, R-Type, and super metroid.

Why would you complain about the Japanese list being better. It comes out in Decmeber there, so there is no reason we won't get those titles around the same time. Also, the US list doesn't seem comprehensive anyway- do you really see the VC launching with a whopping two SNES titles?

OP says its the US VC through December.

So maybe we have to wait until...GASP January to download such brand new titles as Street Fighter II and Castlevania IV.

75% of the people complaining weren't going to buy anything in the first place.

Anyway, the lineup is it's fine for launch, but I hope they get things rolling in a hurry. The VC is the number one reason I'll buy a Wii, so I'll be looking to see how it's shaped up by the time the number two and three reasons manifest themselves: SSBB and the $200 price drop.

So do these games have graphical improvements like Super2xSai, SuperEagle, AdvanceMAME, etc. or should I just stick with my absolutely free emulators available for the PC, Xbox, and Dreamcast with all these plus save states, fast forward, higher resolutions and more?

If you're cool with stealing, I guess.

It's not like there's even the "They're out of print, nobody is losing money!" excuse any more.

Wow, I have to say the US list is massively disappointing. Very few A-list games, and one ONE N64 game, that just got re-released last year for the DS? I just hope the list fills out fast, because I'm passing on literally all of those games.

...Well, except Gunstar Heroes. :) :) :D

Nintendo's gonna be careful to release these games. They need some stuff to fall back on when the droughts of Wii games come about.

Someone explain to me what the hell is the point of releasing SNES Street Fighter 2. Can't Capcom just do the arcade version. Plus, why would anyone pay for an offline street fighter 2 now.

There is no good explanation of course, but to be fair I don't think we know yet whether online play is supported or not.
