I agree with you 100%. The game is scary as shit. It's because those damn aliens "really" want to kill you. They come at you FAST. The don't want to fuck around. They are not taking a break to star in the next QTE - no, they want you dead, badly. Their fucking acid hurts you, it can even kill you.

Strangely I put the DEMO of the original AvP PC game up there as the scariest. The graphics seemed dirtier and more 'cold' looking than the final product and it was genuinely scary - the Aliens seemed kind of random each time too - no scripted events, just this lonely feeling that you could be attacked at any time. Awesome stuff.
Anyone know if you can install games like that and control them using a Dualshock/Xbox controller on a Mac/PC?

This is getting out of hand lol, that entire movie has a memorable script, like LotR, I have that whole movie memorized from reading the books earlier lol.
Like other's have said just make an open world survival game like Killing Floor set in the Alien's universe and we'd be golden, but no.

Pfft, I owned that game and it was terribly boring. Unless you like doing lists of 'go from point A to B' type objectives, in which case it was the best game ever made!

Loved this game. It's supposed to take place at the same time as Colonial Marines, but sadly as I understand it the characters are different (this game has amazing characters...you get killed and that's it for them the rest oft he game).
I like how you find the queen at the beginning and think....that's it? Then as you go some incredible Aliens canon (not Prometheus canon though) occur, which again, is supposed to be part of this game.

Try something like joy2Key (map joystick inputs to keyboard inputs) or xb360ce (translates the 360 controller's XInput calls into the DirectInput calls older game controllers used).
I'm only here because my fiancé was considering this one (he likes Borderlands and some of the Alien movies) and I was wondering if I should warn him away from it. Sure sounds like a "wait until Steam sale" from this OT...
The worst part for me was that their weren't enough upgrades. At a certain point, exploring those vents is completely pointless, lol. But maybe you're expectations were too high? I went in expecting nothing and came out pleasantly surprised. I mean, I don't think it really comes close to the best games on the system or anything, but it's a pretty fun game overall. But my enjoyment probably comes from when I recently did an Aliens game marathon, and after all the crap that came before it, it kind of stands out.
Aliens Infestation, which I think is a terrible name which conjures up some really generic game with aliens. It's essentially Metroid-lite with the Aliens franchise. It can also be bought really cheaply as well. That doesn't mean it's bad though, pretty much because it came out at the end of the DS life span and it had zero marketing. The reviews were generally really good.
People think the game is a joke. Are you suggesting they that shouldn't express their opinion? It's the job of SEGA and Gearbox to change their minds, not you.
Yeah there's a 4 player survival mode, which is essentially horde mode. You can even play as the characters from the movie, but I think it's some pre-order shit.

Yeah, it's possible I was overhyped - I bought it in the UK for a flight back to Perth and tried really hard to get into it but it just didn't hold my interest. Seems it was received pretty well so it was probably just me
