They better, they managed to change my brand loyalty as of late.

I don't see any way that they don't, to be quite honest.

It might have some Vita stuff, but Vita is essentially DOA. The sales numbers are abysmal.

The "evolution of PlayStation" videos that they're releasing logically only lead to one thing - PlayStation 4.

Can't wait!

E: wrong thread :\
or is it? :D

Is he talking about cutscenes using the games engine but with higher quality or is he actually saying Crysis 3 on PC looks better than the FF CGI cutscenes?

All I want is the following:
- Reveal of PS4 model
- Reveal of the DS4 (And functions if possible)
- Reveal of the OS.

Games can wait until E3.

I'm most curious what kind of jpn support it'll have. Their last 3 hardware releases left a LOT to be desired, including first party(or lack of) offerings.

I agree. Games are important, but I'm way more interested in what the system is and how they've approached the operating system.

I'm sure on Tuesday we'll get one or two game developers on Twitter saying something like "on my way to NYC" or something like that.

Maybe from Sony's first party devs. But usually we'll see tweets from people at the event pointing out that this developer is sitting in the front row or they spotted this developers peeking from behind a curtain. That's when the fun really starts.

If it launches this year, I'm sure they're down to the wire on choosing a design and might have already. So there's a decent chance they'll show near final design. Both the OS and the DS4 look to play a significant role in the philosophy behind the console so it's also likely they'll be shown. They have to show off at least a couple games, first and third party.

Sony needs to show Crysis 3 running on PS4 at 1080p / 60fps. I believe that would be enough for PC gamers to "jump in". Is that going to happen? Probably not. Okay, at least show us this "Agent" thingy you announced ages ago, or ... The Last Guardian.

so whats the consensus on release dates?

I wish more companies would do an Apple and release stuff the day after they are announced. half a year later everyone has forgotten all about it...

Arkham

The Amiga Brotherhood
I've had cats all my life so I'm pretty good at understanding cat behavior, the cat is simply play fighting with the kid, as if he was another cat. (which of course can get rough, but the cat means no harm)

Then the kid gets angry and hits it and of course THEN the cat gets angry haha.

The parents shouldn't have let the kid play fight with the cat.

Edit: youtube comment says "It's not the kids fault. The mom was egging this on from the beginning. She tells the kid to "hit it" in Russian."
Then when the kid gets attacked they keep laughing.

Such bad parents.

FFS. I just saw the rest of the video. It's fucking sickening. I reported it for both animal and child abuse.

Pretty much. I kinda feel that I can apply the 'Nintendo' effect on them. We know Sony's 1st Party efforts will be decent. So why waste time showing concept renders when you can actually explain or have an in depth look into the OS, which I believe is way more important, given the ecosystems we live with today

Pretty much. In all honesty I would love them to just focus on the PS4.
But we know they'll waste time on the PS3 & the PSV.

Ideally I would like them to focus on the PS4 for the meeting and then have some sort of 'nintendo direct'/ Vita heaven type thing for PS3 and PSV afterwards.

edit: Oh lord, started both replies the same way. Head in shame :/

Yea, all I really want to see is the OS. And some Tech-demo's just because I like tech-demo's, doesn't matter if they are possible or not. Haha.

It would be cool to make a thread asking for lists of what each gaffer thinks that they are going to show in this conference.

Calling it now PS4 will come with a demo of MGS5 aka Ground Zeroes .................................................................................................................................................................................or an updated version of PSASBR :p

Because they wouldn't be concept renders. The console is rumored to launch later this year. This isn't the PS3 situation where developers barely had any time with kits before the console was unveiled. They should be able to show actual games in some form.

At the end of the day, i'm going to be buying the PS4 for its games, not for what the OS can do. I honestly don't even care about what it can do as long as I don't have to jump through a bunch hoops to boot up my game.

Kaz walks on stage. Places a box on the stage. Puts pictures of Iwata and Don on the box and sets it on fire. Playstation Meeting over, everyone agrees Sony already won the E3.

Sorry just use to Sony's way of doing things :p
I just think that certain stuff will be a given. We know that their games will be decent given the history and the legacy. The rest of the system is the mystery.

But I get what you mean. As per the other post, I would love if they actually fix their communication this year and just go all out, with info exploding outside events and etc.

I imagine the console will come out of the ground from a rising pillar, and Andrew or Kaz will pull the veil

Sony take pride in the actual design of their hardware, so i am sure they will want to show off the look of the console, with all the blitz from the journalists that come with it

When it comes to the color of the console then black is the surefire, conservative bet but i wonder if they will try to deviate from that and make the default color something else.

From the teaser trailer you get a sense of black and blue, much like like the PS2.

Sony is going to show at least 2-3 games in development IMO. They need something to grab the attention of people that have watched this teaser and hardware specs and a new OS isn't going to do it.

I'd be in the dick
Except Naughty Dog has always done one new IP per generation and iterated on it and then dropped it and moved onto another new IP for the next generation.

Crash - Jak - Uncharted

TLoU is an outlier however. It's also worth mentioning that all of their IPs have done exceptionally well and yet they still always move on.

ND has said they want to keep doing Uncharted as long as they still have fun doing it and right now they still enjoy it. That's part of why the second team was formed, so they can still bring out new IPs and keep doing Uncharted.

Well if they still enjoy doing it then that's prerogative. Personally I prefer they give Uncharted a rest for a few years and then come back to it.

Plus the whole 'One IP per generation' thing was a thing of neccessity. They lost the rights to Crash so Jak was born. Jak was selling worse with each sequel so Uncharted was born. Now Uncharted is selling better with each sequel, has a worldwide appeal and it's one the highest acclaimed and best selling series of this gen. No way they'll abandon it.

They're obviously going to talk about the OS and other features. Like they mentioned on that Bonus Round episode, they have to talk about that if they want people outside of the gaming industry to be talking about the PS4 on Thursday. But they should also keep in mind that the majority of people watching this stream will be watching for games. The other stuff might receive positive attention as well, but the entire conference will be soured if they don't show enough games to keep people really excited about the console.

Well by the time UC4 comes out in 2014 it will be a few years. The characters and world of the franchise is so good it would be a shame if it doesn't move over to the PS4 to take advantage of the hardware for a more open experience.

Bingo was mentioned a while ago, so I made a template and an example:

Some of the choices here are rather absurd (Shenmue 3) and will most likely not show up at PlayStation Meeting 2013, but I couldn't come up with many more realistic things. It's just an example of what's been discussed the most anyway.

And here's the template. I tried fitting the NeoGAF logo in but it didn't look good against the background.
