Did he ever say why? Did the episodes from Justice League give him bad feels about that character?

Ed Boon's Hawkman story:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vScKLWz1HSo

And, damn it, Boon is such a troll. I read this tweet last night and panicked. Then I checked his Twitter page this morning and saw his @reply to it. So troll.

God I was hoping to find some clues to Damian Wayne in there... he's on the cover for the fifth issue of the comics, amongst characters all confirmed to be playable... I have hope!

Looking at your avatar...Damian should have a super where he and the Bat-animals beat the crap out of the opponent.
Just sayin'

Yeah. Robin once again points to Robin's involvement in the story and possibly as a playable character (and we know the Robin in question is Damian).

WaterMan is obviously Aquaman

Lois we know is sort of the root of the entire story.

Not really sure waht those others may refer to.

Yeah, I found a whole bunch of other words, but doubt there is anything to them.

Also found it funny that Why Green Hal are on the same row.

HAL is also again vertically right next to YELLOW.

Btw, Noob.com/this crossword has now confirmed that Hawkman, Power Girl, and Super Girl will not be characters. Other than Hawkman this seems to be the first steady string of "de-"confirmations.

I would imagine that Black Canary will find her way in as well. Given she has that screaming thing Sindel does.

I could actually see her as a possibility too. Having a hard time thinking of more potential females though.

I feel that Fire, Ice, Big Barda and Zatana all have decent chances of showing up as well. Zatana even more so since we apparently are not getting Dr. Fate.

dear god... not another batman character.

That said I do want Robin. But that's it. Not a single batman character more... maybe Ras Al Ghul too.

And Azrael.

No. Stop. This is how it starts.

No. Stop. This is how it starts.

Dr. Fate hasn't quite been de-confirmed. He has just been confirmed as a background character in one stage along with Dr. Mid-Nite (Hall of Justice?). There have been lots of Fate hints though including Boon tweeting that "Fate is in your hands" which could imply he has a chance of being a DLC character if the demand is there.

https://twitter.com/noobde/status/261848148652220418

That Tweet sort of implies one of the characters is in the game, and if it isn't Supergirl or Power Girl...

Despite this tweet I'm still unconvinced. Plus this is from ages ago, plans can change.

I can't... my exposure to DC is Batman.

And it's from the movies and the Arkham series.

Never really liked DC's heroes. Other than Batman I feel like Marvel has far better ones. And even then I prefer Moon Knight to Batman.

Would DLC characters impact who ultimately shows up on release though?

Power girl won the poll, and Boon was very happy she did.

Everytime someone asks about Supergirl he says, how about Powergirl instead?

If she is not in the base game, she will be DLC.

Hmm. I like how things are going with this crossword. Getting some bits of information whether having significance to the game or not.
Wait, PowerGirl was de-confirmed?

This is the case. It's very clear how much Boon had been pushing Power Girl from his tweets.

You know, when I first started comics, I kinda thought that way too. As I grew more and more knowledgeable about both companies and their characters, I learned that both companies have their merits and it is really like the apples and oranges comparison.

You should totally get to reading some stuff that isn't Batman though. Horizons and all that noise.

Why do people keep getting caught up on this? It isn't like the concept of a video game is new.

I think it must be two-fold: the art style and the fact that it's a game composed of characters we have seen in fairly well-defined universes of their own. These are things that you wouldn't see happen even in over-the-top comic books that don't necessarily feel bound by any of the laws of physics.

It's nothing more than it kind of looking silly to me when this happens to Joker. It pulls me out of the comic book feel because if there was a ever a comic where Lex Luthor managed to do that to Joker, well then that would finally be the end of the Joker.

Doesn't mean I'm not keen on the game (I am), but I will still laugh every time Superman punches the Joker in the face.

Maybe, I honestly have no idea. It is probably a safe bet that they have already started on the first couple DLC characters though so their talk of "fan demand" for them probably will apply to later ones, not the first few.

Hmm. I like how things are going with this crossword. Getting some bits of information whether having significance to the game or not.
Wait, PowerGirl was de-confirmed?

Well in the crossword it says NOPGIRL...but it could just mean no Power Girl for the base game and she could still come as DLC. I'd take it as a soft-de-confirm since both Hawkman and Supergirl actually have images that clearly say "No, they won't be in".

I really think the Greek gods (Gods Among Us) are involved in some way, Ares in particular. I imagine even the "weaker" characters are empowered by some kind of force, and all participating in a war, thanks to the influence of Ares.

All conjecture of course--and yes, I do read the prequel comics.

I've been saying Dr. Fate for weeks. He needs to be in the game. Hell, there should be a bunch of JSA characters in the mix. OH! Let's get Sandman in there!

No, DC has plenty of fantastic characters. It's worth branching out and checking out other characters in the DC universe. I'll be honest, I don't even read Marvel anymore. I absolutely adore the DC characters.

I bet that's a large chunk of people.

Which is a shame. I adore Batman (obviously, telling from my avatar), but there's so much more to DC than just him (and it bothers me that people just trash the rest of DC without giving it a chance).

Some would argue that it is the writers that make the characters likable and in the hands of a good writer, any character can be great. That said, Marvel has some great writers.

John Hickman, Jason Arron, Matt Fraction and Kieron Gillen are all examples of current marvel writers that are very strong. Brian Micheal Bendis has his moments too. Usually if you give him a street level character like Moon Knight.

Power Girl. :( Hopefully DLC if she isn't in the base roster.

Batgirl along with the supposed Damian seems like REAL overkill. It's already kinda overkill but that would be a large overdose of the bat-family. I doubt she's in though.

Ooh, okay I see. No P Girl. Hmm. Well at least it was only in this, instead of an image. I wouldn't doubt her being in as DLC, she was another character people were asking for in MKvsDC. We'll most likely see her with Boon joining in on including her.

As has been said, the only difference between Batman and a number of other decent DC characters is that Batman was able to break away from the "Super Friends ghetto" relatively early on thanks to a few decent toons and movies in the last few decades. If that didn't happen, Batman would likely still be the butt of so many pedo-jokes and "let's leave a few guys for Batman & Robin to tie up with grappling hooks" gags. :lol

If DC was more even-handed, all of their characters would likely be enjoying similar exposure. But then I read about the GL: TAS getting canned (to be replaced by what? yet another Batman series...) and so it seems things will never change.

It's a cycle that feeds on itself, though. You finally want to give other characters more exposure, so you create shows and cartoons to expose them to a new audience, but people would rather watch Batman. So, you cancel the show and bring Batman back, and people continue to love Batman, and continue to hate the other characters.

It's a shame. There's something to be said for the fact that DC relies heavily upon the legacy of their characters. I think DC actually suffers when they try to reinvent too much, as it loses the Silver Age charm that many DC fans like about the characters, but that in turn shuts out potential fans that find the characters old and lame.

(case in point: Jay Garrick looks like a fool in Earth 2. I really wish they'd bring back his old costume and make him an old guy again.)

I blame Ryan Reynolds.

Well, that and the fact that Batman seems to be the only character DC is able to successfully and consistently reinvent. I'm hoping Man of Steel drums up Superman love.

The real tragedy is that no one knows who the JSA are. JSA Volume 3 was one of my favorite pre-New 52 runs of a comic book, and it's sad that JSA characters continue to be overlooked by other media (I would love to see someone like v3-era Starman or Magog in Injustice)

Of course, then you're going to have at least some people who likely will hate the new Batman because it's not like TAS/B&TB/*insert favorite Batman here*, which generates a whole other cycle altogether. It's all part of the reason that I'm hoping that Nickelodeon and Hub will continue eating CN's lunch, for how they treat decent shows like GL, YJ and etc. But that's another story! 8D

Honestly, as a guy who loved the "Kyle" and "Wally" eras of GL and Flash respectively? I don't have a problem with them reinventing themselves every so often. It's the same reason for why I loved Teen Titans back in the 80s, too. Legacies can be a great thing, when you use them as a means to expand and "pass the torch", and you feel like these characters are actually growing.

Likewise, Dick Grayson's run as Batman was what actually got me reading Batman again for a while. Until they then bought Bruce back, and I promptly was out again.

If anything, I'd argue the fact that they do these sweeping changes, retcons, restoring the "status quo" and the like every so often is what hurts them more.

All I can say is that so far there is not one single DC character in the game I am not a fan of and that I love the cast. If Grodd makes it in I will Rustle his fuckin' jimmies with arrows though. Animals aren't super villains...they're satire of super villains.

More Bat characters? Bring em on! I love Batman.
Powergirl? Hells yeah son!
Animal Man or Swamp Thing? I HOPE!
Grodd? Fetch me my bow.
