Fallout 3 is kinda boring. Lots of time looking at ugly boring landscapes and copycat subway tunnels. I'd rather play more Skyrim.

I'm a massive fan of Elder Scrolls scrolls games but man Fallout does nothing for me. Boring Environments. Bad character design and poor gun play. VATS is kind of neat but outside that the game feels like trash.

So Dread(an Impact map) overwrote Intercession(a Ravine map) in my local files... I've heard of Reach and Halo 4 overwriting maps on the same base map, but never have I seen it happen with two separate base maps. Luckily I still have Intercession on my File Share or I would have been very irate.

How on earth are we making the argument that a second disc is equivalent to a $20 increase in price?

Discs are cheap as shit, man.

Because the machine burning the "$20 game" could be burning a "$60 game". Therefore, it's really a $40 disc.

The other disc is also a title that has to go through a development and cert pass

And also just MS policy concerning multi disc releases

For me it is the exact opposite, I found Skyrim really boring.

But the sales are amazing, if they keep this up for the nextbox and also include arcade games and do this more often like steam sales then I'm there day one

I'm getting Fallout 3 for $5. I've only heard great things about it from people who've played it. If the game does end up sucking or I don't like it, I won't feel bad because it was $5 and I'll get some extra achievements out of it.

Plus, I'll have nothing to do for the rest of today (minus TWD) and tomorrow. I'd say it was a good deal.

Night time waste land is the tits. I thought that game really nailed it on atmosphere.

Skyrim was awesome until I got tired of "go here, kill him" or whatever quests, needed more variety.

In Fallout you can shoot six mini-nukes at the same time.
In Skyrim a single hit from a giant can shoot you into space.

Both games are good.

I could never get into Fallout 3 or New Vegas. Poor gunplay and I thought VATS was really boring. Now if they could combine the gameplay of like Red Dead Redemption with the stats and RPG stuff of Fallout that would be really fun

The world isn't as interesting or densely populated with stuff to do as Skyrim, but the the quests are generally much more in depth and give you more options to resolve them. Sometimes with enormous consequences.

VATS can be a fun combat system, and there's some great retro-future art stuff going on. Fallout 4 is going to be amazing on next-gen.

ProTip: Get the Bloody Mess perk asap.

Will do. As soon as I play the game, though. It's at 53%, and I've disconnected from XBL 3 times already.

I've never played Skyrim, either. Another game on my list. Glad I can mark Fallout 3 off.

AotC is an amazing level

Halo 1: Assault on the Control Room
Halo 2: Outskirts/Metropolis
Halo 3: The Covenant
Halo Reach: Long Night of Solace
Halo ODST: NMPD Headquaters
Halo 4:Composer

Does anyone know of a Halo 3 image pack similar to the one Halo2Freeek had for Halo Reach? Just a giant compilation of the Bungie.net Halo 3 weapon sprites/map headers/medal sprites/etc.?

Best missions:
  • Halo
  • Truth and Reconciliation
  • The Silent Cartographer
  • Assault on the Control Room
  • 343 Guilty Spark
  • Two Betrayels
  • Tsavo Highway
  • The Ark
  • The Covenant
  • Mombasa Streets

Honorable mentions:
  • The Pillar of Autumn
  • Outskirts
  • Regret
  • Uprising
  • Gravemind
  • Sierra 117
  • The Storm
  • Crow's Nest
  • ONI Alpha Site
  • NMPD HQ

Reach is forgettable and Halo 4 is bad.

Is it really that good? I'm considering getting it.

I will openly admit that I put roughly 100 hours into it the first week and a half. Only game I've gotten somewhat addicted to.

Even if you're unsure whether you'll like it, it's only $5. Worth a shot. If you like retro-futurism, I'm sure you'll enjoy that bit, at least.

TC Hawkz or whatever it's called is only 240msp. Worth an impulse buy? Max Payne 3 is only 400 atm too.

Oh, think I'll snag that.

Edit: Uh, according to Major Nelson's blog, it's $15 (1200 space bucks).

Orange Box for $10 is pretty absurd for people that haven't played those games.

Maybe it's 400 in Europeland cuz I just confirmed it there myself.

Library - all day, every day. I know a lot of people hate it, but it is hands down my favorite campaign level.
Library is pretty low on my Halo 1 level awesomeness list, but coming from me that's not much of an insult.

I find it funny when people complain about the Library being hard while simultaneously complaining about movement on the level being lethargic and uninteresting. Even on legendary, if you're not experiencing any slightly Doom-ish strafe combat, something has gone terribly wrong.
Cody Miller's unfortunately rusty Halo run at AGDQ 2011 comes to mind. His gunplay was fine, but even after dropping to normal difficulty the Library gave him trouble. Why? Because he forgot how to use the left analog stick and he became boxed in quite frequently.

Outskirts and Metropolis over Delta Halo?

It was tough honestly I love all the levels in H2.

Outskirts/Metropolis wins because

Regret Speech
First few combat zones up until you pass Hotel Zanzibar.
Warthog Tunnel Run
Tank domination.
Gauss Hog Scarab chase
Scarab battle

Bonus points
IWHBYD (and getting it)
Rex Sword
That Rooftop speed run route
Scarab Gun
