Considering Dishonored took most of its basic formula from Thief, that's a good thing. However if it's implemented the way Dishonored did then that's a bad thing.

Getting Deadly Shadows vibe from the design for some reason. That's not a good thing.

Some of the first person screenshots are pretty promising though, so that at least is good.

I hope that you don't get auto-third-person for other animations as it is in Human Revolution.

And that the level complexity remains. I'm a couple levels past the city bank heist in II, so good.

Also that it's pretty much nothing like Dishonored's gameplay and Human Revolution's level design.

And that you don't have super powers that make the complex levels as easily traversed as AC cities.

Looks like a Thief game so far, more importantly. Hope it works out like Deus Ex or XCOM did, maybe they can start bringing all the old favorite PC games back. No One Lives Forever 3?

I think people really do not get shit about "next gen" if they think they will be able to tell "next gen" from screen shots.

"Next gen" will come from movement and effects, fluidity and scope.
Not really alot that will be grasped in a screenshot.
At least in my opinion.

In my other opinion, these are f'ing amazing and I really hope this is not an exclusive or I will be day one on two next gen consoles and I was not planning that.

Does it? I never ended up playing Dishonored for wallet reasons, but it seemed a lot...lighter then this game, based on what I did see.

I never played a Thief game, but I'm really excited for this. I want more games that let you play a certain role and the that the whole game mechanics are based around it, and being a thief sounds really cool.

Also ,I guess this will be a good game to see if SE is going to support the Wii U.

Looking at all the screenshots, I think the assets in some scenes are beyond current-gen consoles. Could be the PC version of a current-gen game, could be cross generational, could just be a first wave next-gen game.

But it's not like that matters, it's Thief and it's first person!

There is some kind of AA, post-process most likely as it's missing the sub-pixel artifacts.

It feels like they want to make you some kind of sneaky super badass, which isn't the point at all. You're supposed to feel totally underpowered and vulnerable. A thief, not a ninja.

Yeah, that's what my concern is. I loved Deus Ex: HR, (and I'm not sure how good Tomb Raider multiplayer is) so I'm optimistic for now.

Absolutely true. Some graphical effects intended to increase realism (certain lighting, blur, dof, smoke, etc.) can actually make a screenshot look worse, but in motion it's 10x better.

Well, considering Dishonored was largely inspired by the Thief games, I can see why people are making comparisons.

But it's not right; Thief is the original, you can't really compare it to a game that copied it.

It's like when people compare the new Tomb Raider to Uncharted...

Reminds me I gotta get back to Thief 1! Looks great visually I think, love the architecture (I'm seeing some mixed impressions here). Don't care if its this gen or next as long as it gets a PC version.

Hope its first person the whole time and those are just PR action-shot or cutscenes. Don't really like the cut to third person for cover and whatnot (hope this doesn't have a cover mechanic either, just use light). The use of cover this gen has brought us some boring level design.
