Update from the IGG page

Wish we were shown all countries, but still, pretty nice. Kinda surprised it was the UAE among arab countries to make it, as Kuwait is the arab country with the largest fighting game community. My guess is that it's thanks to a few in numbers but large in value contributions.

Could me have the number of backers per country too ?

Very happy with the showing from Japan - we spent a lot of time trying to court them, and it seems to have paid off.

It's also especially big because crowdfunding is a really new concept in Japan on the whole.

Sure - maybe later I can update it with the number of backers and average contribution.

Some drips of info are greatly appreciated and they give us something to talk about. Something small every couple of days would be great.

It's just one of many impressive things you guys are doing. Players and fans getting a real quantifiable say in roster choices, stage expansions and NPCs is a pretty big deal too. Opening Japan's eyes to crowdfunding has to be a massive eye opener for the doujin scene over there too. Especially when it is happening for a fighter developed in the West. Then there is other stuff like the cost breakdown on characters which is something that no fighting game company has done in detail afaik.

You guys are treading a lot of new ground.

I think our official thing is that we are "too dumb not to try" stuff. This is why Skullgirls seems to have a lot of firsts for such a small game.

Hey now, you are solely responsible for France's poor showing, so don't go picking fights with the Brits.

I convinced anti fiscal fraud minister Jérome Cahuzac to give you money, but his secret Switzerland bank account was discovered just before the end of the indiegogo campaign. :(

What exactly were the issues with the JP version of the page?

I think this thing is probably really overplayed.

In the last few days, our JP translator was busy working on all the character story stuff, so the JP version of the page wasn't being updated often enough.

Will characters that don't survive the voting be set aside for a potential Skullgirls 2?

Yeah, none of these characters are going to get killed off.

It wasn't updated for a time after Big Band received funding.

I'm not sure they're quite there yet. I'd like to think its possible, after all, all the characters on the DLC list have been essentially confirmed as a part of the universe (sans Super Samson which last I heard was best thought as existing from a different timeline/continuity than the core lineup.)

Marie, you never stood a chance
I wouldn't be so sure. If you consider that most of those votes are going to be pushing Marie, she has a much bigger chance of getting far in the voting rounds when everyone else seems so divided in who they want to support.

I'm not sure she'd win either way, but the Japanese voting bloc is gonna be strong, and she definitely shouldn't be underestimated.

Japan isn't a monolithic hivemind. Their votes are going to have divisions just like everywhere else.

It doesn't matter how far she gets as long as she doesn't win, which she won't.

I agree that Japan won't be pushing just Marie. I suspect Minette as well.

I'm impressed really impressed at the funding received by the UAE. Over these past 2 years I've been hearing more and more about a burgeoning FGC scene over there and it's amazing to see such an indication of their growth potential just through their crowd funding effort.

Just make sure you don't cross into 2012 Capcpom territory. It's a great thing when companies are dumb enough try awesome or even neutral stuff, but it all goes to hell when dumb and dumber collide.

Just keep being dumb for now. It's worked out amazing for you guys so far. :p
Tsss, you UK guys like to be part of Europe only when you take advantage of it. :frenchrepresent: :rememberthe£: :startawar:
I laughed at this more than I should have lol.
Oh, he took a shot at Extend. Which is pretty much agreed to be terrible.
Nothing controversial, I guess.
Agreed! Surprised Japan outdid us though..
Really?! I thought they'd be the biggest to contribute.
It shouldn't be surprising. The American fanbase is pretty big and we've had more exposure to the IP and game than Japan has by a good margin. Skullgirls has been followed for more than half a decade by some people in the US.

Hopefully we'll know more about the percentages and regional favorites in two to three months.
Hey, so here's MikeZ's To-Do list...

How's that for transparency?
RC soldiers should totally have some effect as an assist. It was probably the most exciting assist people expected from Parasoul before the game came out.

You guys keep going this way and we'll see right through you.

The Lag Checking is a great idea, bother Mike Z to keep it on the list.

About assists chacters doing winpose at the end of the round, maybe keep it as a PC exclusive? Heard that current gen consoles cant do double or triple "hypers" at same type, its could be nice to have this as a separeted mode with other modifications, just for fun so consoles mode dont see lacking...

This is where MikeZ took a hit @ BB... but nothing big.

To be more specific, his favorite other fighter of the generation is BlazBlue: CT, but it has gone downhill with each update. (4:08:00)

As I said before about him putting it on blast: Good.

Thread needs more sexy Illeum

Yuck. So icky.

I can't wait to see what these guys pull off with the next few characters.

The animations for peacock and double are impressive. It kind of bugs me seeing so much detail in certain animations but the transitions are off in others but they are easy to overlook with the frenetic pace of the game.

Peacock slowmo

Double slowmo

Also, there are some Americans who will vote for Marie. I'd vote Marie over some chars (there's a few chars I really don't want in the game)

Didn't know that at all. Interesting since I'm pretty new to this.
