As for the characters, I'd say all of the top ten would be included in the initial version, since it'll be silly to exclude someone who obviously has a fanbase.

Cast is gonna be tiny. We'll be lucky to get 16 characters in total and they already got a top ten with no Anji in it. I don't think he is gone, though and I could be wrong about him disappearing. Hopefully I am because Anji is one of my favorite characters.

He is one of the few Japanese people in the GG universe so they might keep him around with May and Baiken if we get lucky.

Milia and Eddie weren't in the top 10, Eddie is dead, yet they brought them back.

This 2D 3D sprite thing is hard for my mind to wrap around, I see 2D but it looks 3D and just AGH WTF

Hyped though, is johnny gonna be in it? He's the only reason why I played guilty gear.

Don't waste time with him... a person who plays a fighting game hard from the beginning knows that 60$ is actually a really cheap investment for a good quality fighting game that will last you for a long time.

Calamity Trigger was a broken trainwreck but I played that game for months, at full price I still say it was 100% worth it >:)

Except for Arakune and Carl, fuck those guys.

Also I'm the first guy that likes to wait a bit to see how feedback to a FG pans out before I drop the dough on it. So I understand the consumer logic. But if the game is good, I'm definitely getting it right away.

I have no problem with your investment. I don't think anyone has problem with it.

But when one puts blame finger on me just because I will wait the revision (which, because of past track record, I expect many, many revisions to come down the road), then as a consumer I have a problem.

Being Fighting game enthusiast is one thing, violating my right as a consumer and play 'thou are guilty' game is another.

Not to mention 'oh you have split personalities' just because one can't counter with logic.. that was just lame, dude. =P Don't you agree?

I wonder if anyone from Overture will be added?

If this is after GG2 then Ky's son will most likely be in. Actually I would want all of them in minus Justice's alt dimension self as she's dead as fuck and her existance fucks over other characters being able to appear *Testament/Dizzy*

I would of thought that the cast would be quite large with the switch to 3D models. I personally don't see too many characters getting dropped, and the ones that do would be for story reasons.

Anji plays an important part in the lore of the series, even if he's not in the forefront. Plus, if Baiken is in (which I suspect she will be), Anji will most likely be there too. Maybe not in the initial arcade release, but in the home ports for sure IMO.
We shall see
I'd say Tao or Valk are closer than Bang. Tao is just super execution heavy. Tao is basically BB's chipp.
I just appreciate the strong damage you can get mid-stage too. It's something many BB characters lack and it goes a long way to improving the game for me. Valk is decent in this department.
Do you have a link to the full poll results for both games?
Blazblue results aren't out yet.

They made it look good, but we still have no clue how well they'll handle Dizzy's elaborate animations. Capcom shied away from Darkstalkers that had elaborate transformations. It could be the case here too.
Milia and Eddie weren't in the top 10, Eddie is dead, yet they brought them back.
That doesn't mean much. Those two have been EXTREMELY popular from a tournament perspective. Cutting them based on fan polls alone would be crazy. Anji on the other hand... I've been watching Guilty for years and I only truly found a beast tier one two days ago.

Honestly though can we stop arguing about who should buy or support what? Consumers are entirely entitled to pay for what they want whenever they want, but you can't expect hyped as fuck fans to not be a little hostile when you come in here and just say "lolol this is arcsys I'll get the 13th iteration". Not that it's a wrong approach.

Not too worried about my favorite characters making it in. Ky's safe already, as is Millia. Just needs Slayer, Venom and maybe Justice and I"m set. Timely EU release please.

They could, but I always viewed them wanting to have the series be more footsie heavy. The whole corner carry and high damage in corners has always been the reward for out playing the opponent. Which though imo does come to be a problem when a character like Litchi exist that can use that set up better than most characters.

Sounds like you need to watch more Guilty Gear!

Judging your response by my logic, you have split personalities.

I like your ranma dot art. don't kill me

Jokes asides, I understand the hype. It's been like what, forever since GG2 came out and fans were dying for true sequel that is not some lame ass 3D action?

But that doesn't mean one can play blame game and ignore the consumer right. I think the discussion (if you can call that discussion that is) is pretty much died down. So no worries.

Eddie was popular because he was pretty broken.

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
holy shit that looks good, but the animation still looks janky as hell like always.
The animation needs to be the way it is in order to adhere to frame conventions for those that play seriously.

It might seem dumb to some but as a huge fighting game fan this is the best possible announcement that could happen. This is more exciting to me than any next gen console announcement. Guilty Gear is the last series I actually took seriously learning every character. Did not think unreal engine was capable of something like this, very impressed.

All I know is that I like a strong game outside of corners and BB has not had that in a long time.
This will be his breakout game. Anji will be #1!
I really freaking hope so.

Name another good Anji besides Zidane, Lime-key and AGF. I'll be ultra thankful.

I've probably got like seventy-five videos bookmarked and the average has to be something like thirty minutes long. That is only the stuff I've bookmarked. :p
Eddie was popular because he was pretty broken.
Yes... that would make him popular at tournaments lol.

Well yeah.

Of course.

Or a petit woman.

I'm cool either way.

I do actually like him for gameplay reasons. :p most fun keep away character I have ever used. Nu-13 comes close though.

Edit: pretty sure he's was pretty low in AC+. Cool to hear that he's better in +R though.
