Was Converted! What are you trying to get at with that Statement?

Are you trying to say he never became muslim by Choice?

...wrong choice of words, maybe? Obviously he chose to become a Muslim, but I have no idea of how that came about and who was involved in his decision.

You're free to look at it however you want though.

Is it me or doesn't the media mention anything about a 'decapitation'? I only see stuff about a stabbing. Not that it makes it any less disgusting...

Apparently bystanders tweeted the decapitation, plus some sick pictures making the rounds somewhat show it. I don't know if it's confirmed yet, but if you look at the killer covered in blood with the meat cleaver, it's a safe bet the hacked the poor guy.

Just sickening. Not only that, but it's created a tinderbox of racial tension there. My cousin is saying all these white nationalist EDL guys have come out of the woodwork, attacking mosques, fighting with police etc.

The atmosphere in london right now reminds me off the days after the London riots a few years ago. Palpable tension. Of course in a few days time we'd have to moved on to something else. I'm sure the government will get whatever it is they want from this.

Off-topic, but it made me laugh the other day when it was pointed out that many of the people who are offended by being called swivel-eyed loons and want people to stop are the same ones who rail against political correctness.

I don't think they were offended at the terminology of "swivel eyed loons" but rather the suggestion that it's them.

EDL - when they're not beating their wives they're beating up Muslims.

Probably sexually abusing children too since some of them are convicted paedophiles.

Rise in anti-Muslim attacks after Woolwich soldier killing
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-22636991

Anyone could have seen this coming. Two Muslim men behead/hack a soldier to death after hitting him with their car in daylight in front of others and then shouting religious slogans all the while chastising passerby who recorded it.

Just imagine if this had happened in America. This attack is going to bring out a lot of the racist/nationalist white people in England.

worst thing is we're giving them the media attention they wanted, over and over again bits of this will be shown on tv, written about in papers and passed around facebook.

From the EDL Facebook page I saw a guy with a "Keep Calm and Slap a Muslim" profile pic, reported it and Facebook declined to remove it, wtf? So I filed a complaint with the Met, let's see if they do anything. Facebook not removing it means they should be held culpable too, IMO.

Dave is gonna love this shit.

I wonder how difficult it s to prosecute those who radicalise others. Very difficult, I'd imagine. But if Choudary is implicated and gets caught up in this then that could be a good result given the circumstances.

Woolwich attack: of course British foreign policy had a role

I am a former soldier. I completed one tour of duty in Afghanistan, refused on legal and moral grounds to serve a second tour, and spent five months in a military prison as a result. When the news about the attack in Woolwich broke, by pure coincidence Ross Caputi was crashing on my sofa. Ross is a soft-spoken ex-US marine turned film-maker who served in Iraq and witnessed the pillaging and irradiation of Falluja. He is also a native of Boston, the scene of a recent homegrown terror attack. Together, we watched the news, and right away we were certain that what we were seeing was informed by the misguided military adventures in which we had taken part.

So at the very outset, and before the rising tide of prejudice and pseudo-patriotism fully encloses us, let us be clear: while nothing can justify the savage killing in Woolwich yesterday of a man since confirmed to have been a serving British soldier, it should not be hard to explain why the murder happened.

These awful events cannot be explained in the almost Texan terms of Colonel Richard Kemp, who served as commander of British forces in Afghanistan in 2001. He tweeted on last night that they were "not about Iraq or Afghanistan", but were an attack on "our way of life". Plenty of others are saying the same.

But let's start by examining what emerged from the mouths of the assailants themselves. In an accent that was pure London, according to one of the courageous women who intervened at the scene, one alleged killer claimed he was "… fed up with people killing Muslims in Afghanistan …". It is unclear whether it was the same man, or his alleged co-assailant, who said "… bring our [Note: our] troops home so we can all live in peace".

So would you say that the rise of the KKK and its reign of violence is partially the fault of the U.S. Government for giving rights to non-whites? Because that's the argument you're making. Government does something you don't like so it's kinda their fault when you hack someone to death in the street with a meat cleaver.

Thats not the argument at all. Nobody us justifying it but its silly to think foreign policy has no say in all this. Until that point is recognised

When the IRA were setting of bombs it wasnt because England beat the Irish @ Rugby it was down to the british governments actions in Ireland.

This reminds me, does anyone have that crazy fake Wikipedia infographic about the future European Civil War where Muslims and Europeans go at it during World War III? I thought it was a funny bit of right wing fan fiction, anyone know what I'm talking about?

you make it seems like the western world was not attacked by terrorists attacks before the invasion of Afghanistan.

they've hated us since we put Israel in the middle east. Nothing will change that

Warning: Not for the faint hearted.

The Mirror have footage of the attackers charging the police and getting shot.

The film of the 10 seconds of terror show how Adebolajo got within TWO FEET of the terrified female cop who was driving the armed response vehicle.

She was armed with just a Taser as she sat in the driver’s seat of the BMW X5 and was only saved when a male colleague sitting in the back made a split-second decision to fire his machine-gun from point blank range through the window.

As he is sent sprawling to the ground by the force of the two shots and the two cops jump out to cover him they appear to fail to spot the other suspect aiming his hand gun at them.

Luckily a third SO19 marksman running round from the far side of the specialist Trojan unit spots him and he is brought to the ground as a further volley of six shots ring out in the suburban street in Woolwich, south east London.

Former Det Ch Ins Peter Kirkham, an expert in firearms tactics said after watching the footage today: “ I have never seen anything like this before, or even heard of it happening before.

"For two suspects to carry out a brutal attack like this then stand around in plain sight waiting for the police is crazy.

“The instant the spot the police car come round the corner they are on it straight away. The first one is sprinting full speed towards the cops before they have even got out the car.

"The female officer only has her Taser out and must have been terrified. They had no option but to open fire to stop them.”
