Since we won't have a lot to talk about until next week, I might as well repost this here to spur some conversation.
Sony has a lot on it's table with 3 platforms. How do they give proper stage time to all 3? All of them have huge titles coming out this year, and one is launching. Does this worry you that Sony will spend a lot of time talking about what they have this year, instead of talking about new reveals? Just looking at all of the content they have to cover is kind of overwhelming and can cause there to be a lack of focus.

Beyond demo?
Gran Turismo 6 trailer/demo?
PSN Montage trailer?
Vita:
Price drop to $200?
Montage Trailer?
PS4:
Box reveal is certain.
Price?

The thing is Sony needs to show those people who picked up a Vita that the system is still worthwhile and they will want to strengthen its marketshare as it is being used to support PS4 games. So they'll certainly spend time with that.
PS3 I think will get a price drop and maybe a new game or two announced, they have a 70+ million fan base, and while most of us here are ready for next gen, the majority will still be interested in hearing about the system they'll likely be playing for another few years to come.

That's the announcement trailer. No new footage as far as I know.
EDIT - You may be referring to Need for Speed Rivals. It looks good because it runs on Frostbite 3.

ah yeah my mistake. Its NFS. I got weirded out cuz it seemed like DriveClub's style had changed.
Vita? Sure, not interested personally but I understand Sony should show some committment.
PS3? Price drop + sizzle reel seems sufficient. The casual crowd who stick with PS360 for another few years are not going to be watching E3 conferences. Honestly, they can probably say everything they need to about PS3 in 10 minutes.

Three hours is overkill. They will surely save some stuff for Gamescom, TGS and VGAs. I'm fine with two hours if they pace it well.

Did some fast rewatching of old E3 conferences. Don Mattrick at Sony conference was pretty surreal :lol.

Yeah 7(8 in Microsoft's case) years is too damn long for a console generation. Hopefully they go back to the 5 year cycle in this upcoming generation. I have a feeling the only reason Sony kept it going so long is to try and recoup the losses of the PS3 since it was so damn expensive to produce. The extended life cycle hurt alot of game companies too and the market as a whole is stagnating now due to it going on too long. The 5 year cycle was perfect. I expect a permanent price drop on the PS3 to $199 at e3 or even $149 if they want to do a ballsy move. After next gen systems come out those I just have 0 interest in playing games on the systems that came before them.

While they need to focus on PS4 first and formost, I still think 20-30 minutes of PS3+Vita coverage is to be expected. Especially with a 2hr show.
I think aside from showing the final hardware design, announcing a price and launch date, Sony really have to just focus on software. Because MS are going to be all about the games.

They demoed things like Genji, Eye of Judgement, Gran Turismo 4 HD (LOL) in the past.
I think the project is definetly ambitious and they're making it with the intention of replacing Ratchet&Clank which is really tired and old as a franchise at this point.

Haven't seen the Mattrick part yet, but Kaz at one point says "competitors entering the market, and fading away." He says the fading away part like it was meant to be. My god, dat arrogance is unmatched.

I'd be happy with this if true. I want a next gen focused conference, so 2hrs dedicated to PS4 would be ace.
I believe they definitely confirmed some Vita stuff for the E3 conference back in the Feb. conference.

It would be a big mistake and not very astute business sense to invest in so much to motion capture Ellen Page and Wilem Dafoe and just leave them on the PS3 .. here's hoping next-gen...
