Microsoft cancels post-E3 media roundtable

I am no Sunhi, but here's my humble effort:

good effort.

So are they concerned that game "journalists" if gathered together would collectively find enough intestinal fortitude to ask real questions, so their strategy of one-on-one is a divide-and-conquer approach? Sounds like a reasonable plan.

This. So much. Only in things like round table real questions can be asked.

This is fuckup on an epic scale. Has gaming ever seen an announcement this catastrophically awful? Even when Sony fucked up the PS3 they at least acted like they knew what they were doing.

WiiU was also pretty bad, not quite Xbone bad of course.

delaying the xbone is the worst thing ms can do. Doing it will only give sony an automatic ass creed, cod ghosts, fifa timed exclusives.

If present generation means anything, people will not wait.

So at what point does the gaming press put 2 and 2 together and start asking questions?

They're too afraid to ask good questions in front of other journalists apparently in fear they might lose a scoop and those valuable marketing dollars.

Honestly the only interview I'm looking forward to is Keighley/Reggie.... I demand blood.

That and they can also pick and choose "friendly" media to have one on one's with.

I have to be honest though, if Microsoft is not going to address this, I doubt Sony will either. Im pretty sure both are waiting to see the other guys cards first, and then act accordingly. this would be an amazing oppritunity for Sony if they took the opening and laid their shit out during the conference, or afterward during interviews.

After the epic fuck up in the interviews after the reveal, this is no surprise.

It will be good though if they make all the decisions final and then talk about it.

The hell is going on over there? This has without a shadow of a doubt surpassed the PS3 reveal debacle by leaps by now

There is obviously some internal struggle going on, they are just messing everything up, even the most basic things seem impossible

Microsoft, what are you doing. The only way you fix this PR shit storm is by talking to the media, not hiding from it. Damn.

By pre E3 press conference... Does he mean the big one everyone watches and hopes for new games? The one Nintendo isn't doing either?

I presume he means a journalist meeting planned at the conference rather than the actual conference itself.

That should be the biggest concern here. I'd wager it'll be handpicked mainstream media and an assortment of friendly gaming sites. No questions about any of the touchy subjects. Mostly "How awesome? SO AWESOME."

All that MS damage control.
They want complete control of coverage, you see they hired a bunch of washed up ex G4 hosts to do official coverage. Trying real hard to get people with credible gamer credibility to present their message and have everyone else shut up.

So let me get this straight, they are doing their on stage conference for 1-2 hours, packing it up and getting the first plane to Redmond asap?

This is the worst thing they could possibly do, they have a ton of explaining to do, and are just running away from it

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
Pre and post analysis cancelled. Nah...that can't mean anything. *Stoneface*

In politics and business, EVERYTHING means something. Stuff like this is pretty telling. No, it doesn't mean the Xbox One is dead on arrival. You can't make large leaps like that. But I think we can come to the logical conclusion that they took a bit of beating after the reveal show. Especially afterwards when people would let little details slip out, and they got negative feedback on them.

If all of this is true, 98% chance it's because they don't want to talk about used games anymore. I think about what a company could possibly be avoiding, and that was the biggest thing that sunk their ship a few weeks ago.
