Why is Microsoft using a Nvidia GTX 7xx in the Xbox One demo units?

Is it possible that all those PCs were just generic, off-the-shelf things using some kind of remote play/OnLive-type feature to play them all? I know it's unlikely with a GPU that powerful, but maybe that's just what the boxes came with and they're all running something like that.

Probably not, though.

Again with a picture like that how the fuck does anyone know what video card it is. Speculation is going wild here

Nah, it would be pretty crazy to rely on that in E3's environment, you'd have network problems all over the place.

Why exactly do they Xbox one cases at some TVs / monitors? Just for show, right? (Not expected to believe it's the real thing)

I permanently banned my 6 year old daughter from using the PS4 for mistakenly sending grief reports as it's too hard to watch or talk to her

Generic off the shelf PC's don't come in high end Corsair 650D cases either :p

so are you saying that all the games shown on these machines were running natively on w7????

No one saying all, we know Ryse was running on real XB1s. I bet all non-multiplatform games were. No one is going to make a PC engine for a game never going to the PC (ie. FM5).

You think Microsoft would do that? Just go to E3 and tell lies?

There entire Kinect reveal was smoke and mirrors and the new Kinect hasn't been shown running "so fast" as their executives claimed while giving a "demo" of the "UI" on stage at the big reveal in May.

I think it's because the game that is being demoed is using physx effects. The only cards that support that for desktops are nivida cards but since the xbone will be able to use physx, they probably had to go with nividia cards instead of amd ones.

That's probably just a PC version of Lococycle everyone in this thread is arguing about.

When I found out the game was Lococycle I thought the whole point was moot. The game isn't something to drool over graphically. It just makes people wonder. Even if it was the PC version, was Titan the PC version, was Battlefield the PC version?

I think in one of the bits of footage for something... might've been BF or something Ubisoft (was there a new AC game shown?) there was a prompt on one of the screens to press the backspace key.

Well are nvidia porting CPU Physx or GPU Physx?

Because if it just CPU Physx then you would not need an Nvidia GPU to get the same performance.

The only thing they need to make sure is that it isn't slower. It doesn't really matter if the machine is faster than the xbox one, as long as the game is tuned and locked to the correct specs. If so there's no need for drama.

I played 1 PS4 game on a PC. It wasn't at Sony's booth though and we were told it was the PC version running with PS4 controllers.

again outside of the case and cou cooler how do we know the gpu?

You can still make out the bright green, very distinctive GEFORCE GTX on the pic, something nVidia put on the sides of the GTX ranges of GFX cards.

The important question to ask is, how did the kinect do performance wise, better or worse? Did the approximation fit within reasonable parameters?

Only misses at the wrong side should be reason for concern.

But of course we wouldn't have so much fun hating if we were that pragmatic..

Nearly everyone does a PC build regardless of platform exclusivity. It's just a lot more convenient than being looked down to using a devkit at all times. Especially in larger teams, where you don't really want to have to buy devkits for every single person in the team.

Maybe they're not always keeping the PC build totally up to date with the platfrom specific code like rendering and shaders, but for modern consoles it should be pretty easy to move everything across platforms.

Anything is possible. But when even crossfire 7790s are no match for a 680, we better have some sexy secret sauce.

And some might even argue that a 7790 is too generous based on current leaked specs, but I think it's the closest card we can assign it.

The xbox one gpu has only 1.23 tflops where the 7790 has 1.792 tflops. The xbox one gpu is very similar to the 7770 and the ps4 gpu should be compared with the 7850

You see the thing is the Kinect is controlling the Player's actions, it is suppose to be the other way around. My explanation for that is, that scene was suppose to be a cut scene but the actor they hired to demo the game decided to mimic the character in the cut scene.

I am replying to someone who says Microsoft wouldn't go to E3 and lie but you can go through this thread and you wouldn't find a single comment from me "hating" Microsoft, in fact you wouldn't find a single comment from me at all. My point is, they all lie and stretch the truth at E3 all the time but they don't get called out on it most of the time.

I read all your posts in this thread. The XBOX360 in the confided space you mentioned is also a dummy - the real console is, again, in the closet beneath, with additional fans.

On an entirely different note, I wonder why people keep answering to Vestal. His post record shows he's a huge MS fanboy, even defending their DRM procedure. He's just desperately trying to do some damage control whilst proving little knowledge about actual game development, or common sense for that matter. The comparison to cell phone SDKs alone gave him away.

maybe, but not always

Jonathan Blow is right, at least is suspicious that 5 months away from release they are still using generic pc's as devkits.

I mean as if passing off PC footage of BF4 as the XB1 version at their conference wasn't enough. Some people are pretty dense.
