Countless Demon Blades are strewn about the world.

Once one of these blades is drawn from its sheath,

they immediately begin thirsting for blood.

  • Genre: Action RPG
  • Platform: PlayStation Vita
  • Release date: JPN - March 28, 2013, NA - June 25, 2013 , EU - October 16, 2013

  • Setting:
Based on ancient Japanese lore, Murumasa Rebirth plunges players into the mystical Genroku era, ruled by the skilled shogun Tsunayoshi Tokogawa. But this culture is threatened; Tokugawa's thirst for power leads to a conflict over the enormously powerful, though cursed, Demon Blades. Used in hatred, drenched in blood, the cursed blades condemn those who use them to tragedy, madness, and untimely deaths. As chaos spreads, denizens from the netherworld breach their realm as these malevolent swords summon evil spirits -- and the Dragon and Demon Gods as well.

Follow the story of Kisuke and Momohime, as they journey down the path of the Demon Blades to it's ultimate conclusion.

Got 99 problems and only one of them is a waifu
Got 1 CE ordered for me and another for my brother. Time to give my Vita some loving.

The game is going to look insanely good on Vita.

Really, really lame that the new characters are paid DLC in a re-release of this game though. I'm sure as hell not supporting that. Base game only for me.

Oh man. Every time I think I'm going to make the move to all digital, a sweet box art like this comes out and I just have to soak in the joy of tearing off that plastic.

I'm pretty damn torn with wanting the CE and not wanting any more bloody cartridges to carry around. P4G has a permanent spot inside my Vita so I'd buy this digitally but that sweet sweet Muramasa CE. ..

Do we have any gameplay for them, or know how their content interacts with the current single player?

I'm not even sure if the first character is out for the Japanese version yet. I scoured the internet for any footage besides the picture in the OP, and I can't find a damn thing other than the price for the DLC in Japan and a Siliconera article from March 29 saying that the Nekomata chapter is "coming soon."

This is an incredibly boring game, as far as I'm concerned, but goddammit if it doesn't deliver some beautiful art.

I'm soooo going to import this... in fact I think I will preorder now in Play-Asia. That case for the CE is tempting...

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
Ah crap, those characters are DLC? Guess I'm not buying the US version. :\

I'll have to pick up the JP version in a few weeks.

It looks so appealing, but I felt the same way about the Wii version. Other than the jump button and added weapons, has there been anything done to spice up the game play? Was interested at first when the 4 new characters were announced, but sad they're separate dlc now.

I didn't play this but I played Odin Sphere. And 'incredibly boring' would fit that game.

Still buying this, I have see it for myself.

Depends on what you found boring.

The story is delivered in the same fashion. The combat in Muramasa is a crazy hack and slash with lots of fancy skills to experiment with, you can go crazy, unlike Odin Sphere which forced you to pick your openings more and think about committing to combos. You also don't get forced to replay the same areas/bosses over like... 5(?) times in order to finish the game.

I wouldn't say that. It's just that the fun parts (the bosses) are spread out between too many repetitive enemy encounters. The combat is actually pretty fun. Though that's on Hard, and I can imagine anyone who played easy might have found even the boss fights boring. Anyone able to say if easy was indeed too easy?

Day one digital. Loved this game on the wii. Now in portable form I'm looking forward to the pick up and play.

Man, I can't wait for my copy to arrive. I've been waiting for this game for so long (never owned a Wii).

Could've gone digital since this would've saved me some money, but I love it physical. :p
