Depends which button you press. LK is zero, MK is one, and HK is two. 350 damage on a 850 health Akuma is actually pretty good and would prevent st. HK spam. Maybe Sagat's should save meter to punish that move in this match up more often.

Well, Nina is also an anchor too because her damage is amazing. Cammy's damage isn't too bad either so it's a really good mix.

I meant him using Dhalsim, Cammy and sometimes Chun as point. Helps cover quite a few match-ups. He always has Nina as Anchor(japan Loves Nina Anchor apparently)

There was a huge problem, after months of running without a programmer, everything was now out of date, and of course bugs were starting to show their ugly heads.

When people started complaining about bugs, MrWiz tried to blame my software. To which I had to respond that those bugs were fixed almost a year earlier, SRK was just severely out off date. MrWiz immediately banned me and deleted all the support threads I had commented on. A month later they switched to the service hosted vanilla forums.

All this because they are greedy bastards who refused to pay my paltry service fees. The amount I asked for is probably less than two days of revenue from that website.

Seems to be a long running theme in the Capcom FGC... people undervalue your work, want you to work for free, and act like they are doing you the favor. Then of course on the rare circumstance where you ask for anything, they treat you like shit. It didn't matter if it's SRK, west coast, east coast, or even BigE; the people who run the Capcom FGC are scoundrels.

Oh wow. This is some pretty eye opening stuff. So did you set your price before the work started or did you tell them your rate after?

There's always been hints at this sort of underlying shadiness at SRK, but I think most people let it slide because they were the first guys out there and they run EVO.

It always feels like there's some sort of uncomfortable weirdness going on behind the scenes at that site, though. Even without that I think they'd be losing members just because navigating the damn thing sucks so much.

After. You can't tell the rate before the work starts because you don't know how long it will take... not to mention SRK had TONS of extra stuff they had me program in for their special cases. For instance, that top bar on the current SRK lists new and popular threads, and an advert on the right. That isn't stock, they had me program in a new threads block, a block displaying the recent Wordpress news (which required me to write a bridge between xenforo and Wordpress FROM SCRATCH), and of course the ad block.

I objected to writing the entire top bar; but they insisted. Also remember that last year, flash did not officially support z-index. So the ad would block the user control dropdown. I told them issues like this would happen, but they didn't care. I run websites for a living, I know what kind of money they make, and with the completely intrusive ads they have on SRK, and with the high rate of traffic they had on XenForo, they should be making $300 a day, minimum. Since their switch to Vanilla Forums, you can see their traffic dropped off precipitately.

Wow, thank you for clearing it up here Jaxel, that really sucks. I wish Event Hubs published this in their site, people should know the truth

EDIT: or maybe not, a war between those two websites would not be good...more drama

600 sounds low for a job like that, too. I didn't know Jaxel was a programmer so hearing about that side of things is interesting. I have been writing dynamic .NET pages for about the last decade or so.

I honestly get my FGC news from here now. Anything that is big gets posted here as long as I regularly keep up with this thread. I know I am not the only one. In fact minus E3 when GAF was down for a good amount, I get my gaming news from GAF.

I've followed the FGC since 2006 but this still surprised me. Oh and we are the new SRK. Get my gaming news here too. My google reader used to have a "Games" tab but now it's gone because of GAF.

yea this place is good to get news. Not a lot of vids/archives of matches get put up here so its nice that ehubs has that going. They do have slow news days where they just post random stuff but overall its nice. I do wish they would update their specific game pages since they aren't all that accurate and I'm not sure if their frame data stuff is accurate as well.
