If you want another nice little surprise, try using the touchscreen without actually touching it. Just get your finger very close, and swipe around. It's magic!

Yeah I always found that weird. Never happened to me on any other capacitive touchscreen.

Top page recommendation: Go buy Project X Zone. Yes it's a 3DS game, but I like it a lot so why not?

That happens with my iPhone too, though!

Either way, downloading Unit 13 too now. I feel like a bit of stupid action would be nice.

Gladiator Begins (PSP) is like the only thing I play on my Vita right now. Very grindy but just so addictive. It actually looks pretty great on the Vita too (if a little bit grainy, obviously).

Not sure if I'd enjoy Stealth Inc actually... I don't usually like stealth or puzzle games and it's kinda both. Hmm.

Good man. One of the greatest games on PSN for a fellow to snag and devour. Nice and deep.

Wow. Nice going. I'll try out the AG Speed, I had been bouncing back and forth from the Qirex Speed and the Feisar Prototype. Do you find that with the A+'s, you slowly worked your way up, or was it a "get in front and don't give it up no matter what" type of thing? I usually got overtaken in the last lap or so due to some dumb error. I have beaten the A+ races, but all of those, and the final protoype race are the only things I have yet to Elite Pass in SP. For MP, I think I am over halfway. Pretty sure I'm level 39 or 40, I know I am close to the cap.

Depended, in Downtown I got in 1st place in the first round and it stayed that way till the end.
Subway on the other hand was pretty chaotic. Pretty much got hit by a weapon everytime I was in front and then back to 7th or 8th^^
I have now the elite pass in every singleplayer event, only some in multiplayer are missing.
I don't like the mp campaign much, though. Its pretty grindy and boring. I'd rather have a racebox.

Right then, Uncharted, Gravity Rush and Ninja Gaiden downloading now through PS+. Didn't even know the Vita had a touchscreen so that was a nice surprise. They sure could do something about that horrible looking interface though. Yuck!

Wow, seriously? And yeah the interface could use some work, it feels like more of a toy than it should for how sexy the device itself is.

So what happened to the infamous nStigate Games/Nihilistic Software (Black Ops: Declassified/Resistance Boring Skies)? thought they are rebooting the studio into an iOS/Android focused studio (PSM too? lol), but there is no website, no announced games, no news... just nothing. the rebooting failed perhaps?

Would anyone have any general Disgaea 3 tips? I'm making my way through chapter 2 currently and doing fine really but I'm still just using my stock characters and bought weapons for them. I'm around level 15.

Should I be making new characters?
Should I be using my Prinny at all? Because I haven't been and he sucks compared to the rest of my guys now.
Should I be going near the item world?
Should I be trying to pass stuff in homeroom?

Few demo impressions

Silent Hill: Seems alright, if somewhat.. janky. Looks like it'd also be more fun in multiplayer.

Asphalt: No idea why I downloaded this. Very mediocre, although it got me itching for Ridge Racer. Then I remembered how bad everyone says Ridge Racer Vita is. Why Namco? :(

Resistance: It's decent so far, but it certainly doesn't feel like it measures up to Retribution on the PSP. Not sure if this one's worth getting.

No idea. They closed their twitter account too. I think they may be dead.

No news is good news, I hope they're dead.

While I thought Resistance BS single player was fine (just fine... nothing better) I dont understand why retribution gets such praise. I thought that was pretty janky with dumb stereotypes and just as bland story as BS. I mean its online was fun though so it had that but its single player was nothing special. I remember reading a review and wondering why it got such a high score and how its story got praised.... then I realised I was on IGN and that explained that.

When are more psp games gonna go on sale? $5 or less please. (Talking about games like Daxter, Secret Agent Clank, and other first party games)

If you can live with the lack of a career mode / single player structure, it's actually pretty good.

Plus, the Hornet.

RR Vita defence force reporting in. The complaints aimed at the game were addressed. FPS was fixed (not 60 but solid post patch) and a lot of content in the form of tracks were added.

Games not that good so I veto this.

Instead buy Persona 4 Golden and Preorder Dragon's Crown.

So let me say that I love my vita however last night I try to listen to the latest edition of the world famous giant bombcast however something went horribly wrong. I press play and I hear the soothing sounds of Jeff Gerstmann and crew. I proceed to find a game to play, oh let's play some Metal Slug, that should be awesome. As soon as I launch the game I get one of the scariest messages I have ever seen. "Your music has been paused." WHY CAN'T I PLAY MUSIC OVER ANY GAME!!?? No wonder this thing isn't selling. It made me furious. I tried out many different games and it works only half the time. So disappointing.

perhaps because it was running the psp emulator. that always makes the vita run weird. going from sleep -> psp game has this insane lag when compared to a normal vita game.

I thought it was the fact that it was a psp game but newer games don't even work. Jetpack joyride doesn't work either.

Traded Virtua Tennis 4 (fun and pretty but, you know, tennis) and NFS MW (wow at that shitty framerate and those smartphone textures) for Persona 4 Golden today. Don't know if I made the right choice as I often lose interest in games that are too long but there weren't any other games I were even a little interested in that I don't already have (except for maybe Katamari but games with time limits bug me more than lengthy games).

Hmm, I may be willing to give it a shot. What about the excessive DLC, which seems to be another common complaint?

1 Tuna Seller, 2 unpopular Dudes, 1 can of regular tuna. 1 can of awful tuna*

Unpopular Dude #1 bought 2 cans of the regular Tuna, Unpopular Dude #2 bought 6 cans of the awful tuna.

Few month later Tuna seller will only sell tuna cans to Unpopular Dude #1 even that Unpopular Dude #2 bought more cans of bad tuna.

it's just not fair for Unpopular Dude #2 tuna lovers friends I guess.

....

*-it even made with help and boat of unpopular dude #2 dad.

Spending my birthday playing the Toukiden and God Eater 2 demos on jPSN. So good. ♥

Happy birthday Noi-sama.

you are older and stronger now.

Both 60, but the Vita version fails to sustain it all the time.

Dragon Crown is 60fps with some drops on Vita it seems.

Good man. One of the greatest games on PSN for a fellow to snag and devour. Nice and deep.

Gladiator Begins was one of the first games I bought when I got my Vita on launch day. Loved that game. It was very satisfying and addicting, and the combat got pretty challenging. For added fun, I had my attacks mapped to the right stick of the Vita, which made combat even more interesting. Lol.

I started Metal Slug XX today, and much to my dismay the game appears to have infinite continues with no option to limit them. Bleh. Playing an arcade game with infinite credits is super boring, there's no point in ever trying to play well since you always respawn at the same place. Totally ruins the game.

Metal Slug 7 on DS (which is basically the same game as XX) didn't have this "problem", you had 5 credits and that's it. If you started at the final mission, beating the game was hard but not impossible. It was a well-balanced challenge.

Why did you have to screw it up SNK?

It's really addictive. I was really enjoying it and finding myself playing for way longer than I expected too, although I've got to one 'boss' (I guess?) battle where I just get completely destroyed. Guess I need to grind some over fights for a while.

I'd love a new native Vita Gladiator game. I don't know how well GladiatorVS/Clan of Champions did on PS3/PC, though...

Because its more fun for people like me? You can just turn off the game after you run out of credits if you want to do that.

I bought metal slug 1 stand alone and I was incredibly annoyed that the game didnt give me an option to do unlimited continues.

Has anyone bought or played Stealth Inc. yet? Tempted to get it, but there's unfortunately there's no demo. I do like the footage on YT so I'll probably pick it up anyway, but it'd be nice to get an idea on what the general user opinion is first.

It's fantastic. Easily worth the $8. You should have preordered. :p

I missed out on the preorder and now I feel like I must wait for a sale :(

I'm glad I chose to get it on steam instead as it was much cheaper. Unfortunately, I probably won't play it much as I find it much less enjoyable than super meatboy, which i purchased at the same time.

if you like puzzles, it's good to a point. i can't imagine going through all the levels of that game after playing about 14 though

I'd love to get a good port (M2) of Metal Slug X on vita.

Regarding the Atlus sale going on...

1) Growlanser and Gungnir appear to not be playable on Vita. Is this true?
2) Are the games that were dual audio in their physical release also dual audio when downloaded off PSN?

Sneaky. Instead of "these demos are fun" you throw in the fact that it's your birthday to get attention.

you're a punk

Some screenshots for you fine folks. It's obvious that it's a PSP up-port, but there's some neat details in motion that don't come across in screenshots like hair/cloth physics, and there's way less jaggies than the Vita screenshot tool shows.

You know you'll buy it anyway.

Milestone need to make a sim circuit racer on Vita, their engine is pretty good and there is absolutely nothing like that on the system. I'm going to buy it, Milestone deserve the support (MotoGP was fully featured and hopefully next WRC is the same)

So I'm about to go on a trip to Thailand, huge planeride so I'm wondering what best to bring in terms of battery life. Question, does the vita battery last longer if you are only playing ps1 classics? Or does that not matter?

Otherwise I'm wondering the same for 3ds in terms of playing like the zelda Oracle games or the gba ambassador games
