Rodea The Sky Explorer 3DS is still alive (?)

For those who never heard of this (can't blame you!), this is by Yuji Naka's team at Prope, the same team that also made; Let's Tap, Ivy The Kiwi, and Fishing Resort, all for Wii.
They also made the Digimon Adventure RPG for PSP, which is probably (or sadly) the best game out of the entire list.

lol! I wanted this game for the longest time. Can't believe that it might actually still exist. Wasn't the publisher just like not releasing the game or something? I thought it was done and ready, but Kadokowa Games was being a big boner about it.

Wasn't it "Soldier" instead of "Explorer?" Also, didn't they said the game was finished and that they were waiting for a release? This game was beibg developed for both the Wii and 3DS.

I hope it really comes to life. It looked prety awesome.

Buying on 3DS, unless it never leaves Japan, in that case I buy it on Wii since I don't own a Japanese 3DS.

You are correct with the title.

As for the completion, it only refers to the Wii version. Kadokawa is making the 3DS version based on the wii version.

Oh wow, they're still considering the Wii version? Hope it does actually get released. At least I'd be able to import that version for when the 3DS game never gets a Euro release.

IIRC Naka said he wasn't behind the 3DS version. and IIRC Kadokawa have an internal studio. So bets are on them doing it.

Yeah, I remember Naka saying that, but it's been years since we've had any real news on this game and they seem to be struggling with the port so I'm kinda hoping they just got Prope to do it. I'm worried that they'll screw it up otherwise (not that they've actually shown enough of the game to make it obvious either way, but still...).

Wow, I almost forgot about this one. I was hyped for this! Hopefully it gets released outside of Japan.

Yes I REALLY hope they moved this game over to Wii U. I thought the visuals on Wii. And 3ds were amazing. I'm willing to bet they moved this over to Wii U... It just doesn't make since the game would still be in development and only 70% done. I'm calling it now and its going to be a standout on Wii U.

There aren't any signs of a Wii U version, the signs are pointing to both the original Wii and 3DS versions coming out finally, and Naka said he doesn't see fit to port the game to Wii U due to the default controls.

Kadokawa could do it themselves if Naka won't since they're likely doing the 3DS version themselves, but I'd much rather Naka did it himself.

The Wii version has supposedly been done since fall 2011; what's 70% done, according to this report, is the 3DS version.

This has reminded me of that Inafune game King of Pirates. Is that ever coming out?

Keiji Inafune stated 3 months ago that Kaio King of Pirates is still under active development. But this project also includes an anime and manga, so that complicates the timing of when they can show or make any further announcement.

Guess I am the only one who didnt like the game

I didnt like the game's concept nor the characters models

Its somehow ZoE mixed with Sonic (according to the speed)

Think about the shitty controls if the game wont use the Circle Pad...

Watching the trailer, it looks like it would be similar to Kid Icarus Uprising, which is a pretty big plus in my book.

I think that was the first game he announced after leaving Capcom. Since then, he release Soul Sacrifice, he's involved in that Binja Gaiden game, and I think there was another game. That guy needs to pull his s**t together. I'd hate to see that game become vaporware.

Good. Maybe a trailer or something for TGS? And hopefully Inafune will also release gameplay trailer and release date for KAIO King of Pirates.

The reason they need to release the Wii version, is not just because they "owe" us, but because it's DONE, for TWO YEARS!

Money left on the table if they don't IMO.

Prope putting that Streetpass cash to good use?

How was Ivy the Kiwi? Is the Wii version regarded as the best or what? I've got Let's Tap to dig into, but I can't imagine it lasting too long :lol

LOVED Ivy the Kiwi?. Like a lot of my favorite games, it's just okay if you only play it to completion, but the real meat of the game comes from achieving the games extra goals which require you to completely master its mechanics. Which in this case involves completing levels as fast as possible while collecting all 10 feathers hidden in each level. I didn't like the DS version as much because the stylus blocks your view of the level, while the Wii remote has no such issue.

The hangup on the finished Wii version is reaching Red Star proportions, and I have no interest in the 3DS port. I'll keep fearing the worst until it has a date and US pub.

Nice, I love games like that and it's how I feel about Kirby's Epic Yarn and Wario Land on the Wii. Chugging through the levels regularly is kind of brief, but they both show their full potential when you go for that 100%. Going to have a look for Ivy tomorrow, thanks!

a wii u version would make more sense than a wii version if they were doing console releases at this point.

idk, with the super low install base I don't think it would be worth the effort of porting the game. As horrible as a Wii game in 2013 would sell, I'd imagine a Wii U version of the same game wouldn't profit as much. Besides, Wii U is backwards compatible so any Wii U owner who wants the game would be able to play it regardless.

Also, didn't they finish the Wii version ages ago?

Never expected to hear more about this. I'm glad this game wasn't just relegated to something I would reminisce about on unseen64 several years in the future.

I'd buy the shit out of these two games.
