I think directing your disappointment to Miiverse is a much more effective way to let Nintendo know you are disappointed in the first place.

Just go to Miiverse and post a message saying you think full price for this is too much. Bigger chances they might see it there than here on GAF.

$60 is way way too much for a single HD remake from previous gen. Nintendo is really sticking it to their fans on this one..

The sad part is some hardcore N fans that are trying to justify the reasons it might be worth it. But they are adding this or that to it! They made travel quicker! Delusional...

Damn. I was willing to double dip because it's been a while since I played Wind Waker, and I never got the HD experience through Dolphin, but $60 is too much for me.

I can see the care, difference and the price they're asking between this and upcoming SE HD remakes, and it really is no contest who's putting value and more work out and doling out a better price.

S-E is actually putting a lot more effort into the FFX/X-2 HD remaster than we have seen from the other HD remasters so far. That said, they are also offering two full HD games for that $40, so I would hope that Nintendo is outdoing them on Windwaker HD. They are charging 3x as much.

I thought $50 was bad, but are they seriously charging more than what the original game launched at. Luckily I got that pre order for $50 in, though I'll probably end up canceling that. The only reason I have for keeping it is the gorgeous box art :(

Nintendo are not that stupid to price it that high. I simply don't believe it.

Wowwww.

Nope. Not paying 60 bucks at all. Will wait for the inevitable flash sale as Wii U continues to lag instead. :/

The remake and earthbound were the reasons I picked up the wii U but 60 bucks? Eat a dick, Nintendo. I'm not paying more than 40 for a remake.

Seriously, this is a big middle finger to the fans. I'll just go play this shit on dolphin.

If you can't see the difference between the care they've put into this "HD port" versus a $39 effort like the Jak collection or something else that's put through the ol' "HD Filter", then wow, I'm sorry?

Really? Enlighten me, the assets are the same, with a new lighting engine, Mii-verse integration is cute, I guess, and you can go faster on your ship. None of those are real game changers, compare to remakes like Halo, REmake, Any of the Ys remakes, Final Fantasy IV DS, The Twin Snakes, or Tomb Raider anniversary. All of those at least had a substantial upgrade to the assets used in the game, and most pretty much just used the original as a roadmap and restarted from square one. WW has more in common with enhanced ports like MGS HD collection, ICO collection, and others.

But whether you think it should be $20 or $60, it doesn't really matter -- no same person thought Nintendo would honestly put this out at a budget price. Which is why I jumped on a preorder when I saw it at $49 last week.

I suppose that's true, it is kinda insane to expect Nintendo to act with any kind of care for their customers. Or to you know not do something dumb.

That is absurd!

Especially considering that I still think it somehow looks worse than the original. I mean, sure, the faster sailing speed and little adjustments for the GamePad are cool and all, but this upgrade seems so completely unnecessary for anyone who still has the original.

Yeah Nintendo. And Wind Waker blows those games away! :p

Thanks to the FS deal during E3 I'll have mine for 45,99$. I would never pay full price for this. :/

For me playing my favorite 3D Zelda game in 1080p and widescreen is easily worth the full price of a game. I would pay that for Dragon Quest VIII and Star Wars KOTOR HD remasters as well. Just because an older game gets remastered doesn't mean it has to be value priced.

This is a pretty high price point. I don't think that there have been any Collections that have gone this high, much less a single game that is remastered.

Luckily by the time I get a Wii U (hopefully I will eventually) it will probably be much cheaper.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Does this game have any new worthwhile content? Or is the $60 just for HD visuals?

10 years old too...wow

It does if they want a lot of people to buy it. It's either that or add a bunch of new content to justify the cost of a new game. This is doing neither.

Like a lot of people I got my pre-order in at $50 but honestly I expected the price to go down later on not up.

Nintendo might have been able to justify a $60 price tag if they'd actually reworked the game and added in some new dungeons but I won't support charging full price for remake of an old game, even one as good as WW.

Wow, cancelling my preorder now. Thought it would be cheaper.

So I guess my next Wii U game I get 13 months after my last ones (Nintendoland, NSMBU and AC3). And strategy games (Pikmin 3, W101) don't interest me and I didn't like DK on Wii.

What a horrible purchase for me. If I could transfer my VC content back to my Wii or to an account, I would sell this console in a heartbeat.

I'd pay $30 for this, $60 is absurd, but expected from Nintendo.

The MGS HD collection came with 3 amazing games for $40. Actually MG and MG2 are on the disk too, so 5 games.

To me this is indicative of how out of touch Nintendo is. The 3ds came out at 250 and sold like shit. It didn't make up ground until they dropped the price. The Wii U deluxe is 350, 50 bucks shy of a ps4. Yes, you get a game, etc, but you're paying 350 for hardware that was cutting edge in 2005/2006.

The Wii U is doing abysmal numbers, retailers are taking it off of the shelves, etc. They won't move units without solid games and a price cut. Nintendo is most likely pricing this title at 60 because they've got nothing else ATM. They've said they under estimated how much time and money HD gaming takes and this is proof of it.

I never thought I'd see the day where a remake was the same price as a new game and people would be okay with it. It's also telling of Nintendo's situation that a remake is a marquee title for them this holiday rather than something new.

Now that I think about it, Nintendoland was a $60 game, at launch.

This was of course bundled with the deluxe.

Also, your response can read like mario typed it.

I think you're onto something. If anything this 60 price all but confirms the bundle. Also I was going to fix it but decided the typo was to much fun.

Erm..they have at least two 'marquee titles' for this holiday. Zelda is out in October.

Price doesn't really affect me, I love WW and the Wii U version looks awesome, though I do admit if this is the final price it's a bit much. Also I just found out that whenever you get a bottle from Miiverse it shows where the writer was map wise, thought that was a bit cool.

If money is no object to you all of these games can be played in 1080p widescreen on the PC.
