I'm not against the reset trick, I just don't think it belongs in the OP. The only players I actively look down on are time travelers and dupers, but as long as they keep it to themselves, whatever. I really don't want to see pics of Halloween months before I can experience it for myself.

I am disappointed that that while I would like to have the 7-11 set or the sloppy set, there's little chance I'll ever see a legit set up for trade because of the $%(*ing dupers. :(

Incidentally guys, since we're early in the OT and this will get buried by the plethora of posts we're likely to get, I just want to say how much I've enjoyed the company of the community. I haven't been a poster on GAF for even a year yet, and this is the most at home I've felt so far. The thing I really love the most is the willingness of people to help, often without any form of reciprocation in mind. Somebody will post, "anyone have item x?" and without fail there will be multiple people willing to let them catalog it, or who will order it for them. The generosity and kindness is really quite special, whether it's mass cataloging, or Philia's gardening services :)

Doubtlessly as time passes, we'll start playing less, as more games arrive, and that's only natural. But I really do hope I'll get to play more of this, and other games, with many of you, as I do consider a lot of you as friends. Suzu, eggwolio, Wolfe, SolidEyeSystem, Wheelhoss1, rpmurphy, debs, Katt, Philia, Linius, bluepolicebox, UberTag, and many more of you, I really have enjoyed our time playing together, even when it's literally us just standing around and chatting. That's not even to mention people I've met via the international island who I correspond with through email (!) which is something that I'm astounded even happened. It's just always amazing to me that so many different kinds of people, from so many different places can find common ground in this silly game of ours :p

To think that I didn't even originally intend to buy this game (!). Now I'm one of the worst offenders here :/

tl;dr, I love you guys and this community

Yeah, know what you mean. Only saw this title two weeks before it released in NA and Europe. Never played one before. Saw some videos, guess I could give it a try. Whaaam, not another game played since... Maybe it will lessen in time, but I'm happy I found a nice community to play this game. :)

Ditto. Especially the bolded part. I have never had any interest in this series (and actually actively disliked it after that one E3 where it was supposed to be the star of the show) but I kept hearing good things about it so I caved and bought it for myself for my birthday.

LOVING IT so far! So much, in fact, that I'm going to start City Folk too! I'm hooked!

I d'awww'd and then laughed pretty hard at that line.

Yeah, it's funny. ACGAF is the most I've really interacted with anyone on GAF in general for the YEARS I've been on here. It's nice and very appreciative. I always wish I could help out more and it's not from wanting to be accepted - it's just from wanting to help others on here as much as they've helped me. My StreetPassing comment is CrossingGAF and I "say" it proudly.

Just can't wait for the day someone realizes they actually StreetPassed me and knows what the hell I was talking about. *chuckles*

Lol I feel ya Niraj, this is my first AC and I hadn't even really given much thought to buying it honestly until my friend gave me a $35 e-shop card for my b-day which was less than a month before release :p

Also sorry for bootin ya Kami, wanted to get wheelhoss added so he can drop by and take advantage of my re-tail. Feel free to rejoin if you like :)

Dawwwww. That's a sweet post Niraj. :3 I try to be proactive in any community I like and enjoy my games with. :3

Was doing the reset trick just now (yeah whatever) because I only have 8 animals and I needed a Cranky villager. After passing on a few normal/peppy at the campsite, I got Static!

And he put his house right next to the camp! Haha. Really perfect spot though. Didn't take out any of my paths or flowers.

Not my first choice in cranky villagers (I would have liked any wolf or Gaston/Kabuki), but yeah. He's pretty cute looking.
You have no idea how jealous I am :( I want Static so bad

I have to agree on all accounts here, well said. and the funny thing is, is I never really intended to buy the game either as SMT 4 was right around the block and just picked it up for the hell of it, glad I did. I haven't played SMT 4 in about a week, I'll get back to it at some point though lol.

I'll second Niraj, this is quite a nice community to hang out in and trade with. I have two very nice houses and it's mostly due to how generous the people in this thread are. :D

I don't have any villagers with personality types that sell paintings. :(

Well put. And that's a good idea. My message is blank :p

Well said...

Now onto OT5 where you switch your town flag back to a tree to remember the good ol' times because Lionel won't sell you any more painting!

That tree was the best goddamn thing in the world, and I'll never let it go >

fucking peer pressure

I dare him to do it...

But Niraj, that was a very nice post. I share the same sentiments with you, and many others here. I had no plans whatsoever to get this game earlier in the year, since I never really felt that I would like the series. Then the hype thread came along, and that way of thinking turned around.

Now I play this for more than 2 hours a day, and will continue to do so. Yes I will be playing less when Xillia comes out, and then FFXIV:ARR (FINALLY) at the end of the month. But you can bet I'll still post on here with you guys. :D

You know you love your new flag. Don't be shy now. :D

I'd like to say I feel the same as Niraj (and I won't be able to say it any better, so I won't try).

Not that I'm surprised, it's not the first time I found GAF communities great, but the New Leaf one is especially wonderful.

Awesome, thanks for the replies. I was pretty sure this was the cas-

Oh dear.
We need to know more about the "got 2 suggestions in a single day" before drawing conclusions.

As far as I know, a "day" in AC is 6am to 6am, but as far as the PWP generator is concerned, it could also be 12am to 12am.

Even if for you it's a "single day", assuming you begin to play before 6am (or play after 12am), it may very well be 2 days for the game.

Any memories of *when* the suggestions were received?

(btw, I find the "double flower" especially strange, since I would have expected the game storing the elements as an ID in a table corresponding to the town... not a list of ID+coordinates. Especially since the latter is quite inefficient, and doesn't explain why you can't drop an item on a tile or on a buried object)

Clearly!

Nicely stated, Niraj.

My account was approved (after 2+ years of lurking) just before launch and I've had so much fun with this generous, goofy bunch of people. When you find yourself having to turn down someone's offer for help because three other people already piped up, you know you're in the right place.

But you should have kept the flag.

Aww Niraj. :)

That old flag needed to go.

Yeah, I made a mistake mentioning you guys.

I hate them, please disregard my previous statements GAF

>:O

Speaking of pure evil, can't believe I'm doing this, but I'm going to try chatting Muffy up to see about some paintings. Sigh.

At least you don't have to talk to Pietro like I do....

Nice post Niraj. I actually wasn't planning on getting this game because I knew that it would be super-addicting and that I would never stop playing, but when I stumbled into the "1 month until release" thread I got sucked back in. Turns out I was right about it being super-addicting, but I have no regrets.

I made it into the top 10 Hall of Shame for the last thread. That's surprising.

I am very grateful for that.

Muffy, however, just barged into my house uninvited. That shit ain't right.

And thank you for your kind words everyone. I'll probably never be that nice again, so let that shit seep in a bit ;)

Well, that's a shame. My double flower is gone. All that remains is Maelle's red lily. So I'm just going to chalk up the double flower as a graphically error.

I have been on GAF for many years and I would like to think a few years ago that I was very well known on GAF for being a joke poster of sorts. Looking over old posts of mine make me cringe although I still do say stupid shit from time to time for small laughs here and there. :)

Anyhow, I have been a regular member of many other GAF communities such as WrestleGAF, GAF-Hop, Black Culture GAF, etc. At the moment, I rarely visit those communities and most of my GAF browsing goes to Animal Crossing GAF. Although not many have visited my town (Due to me not being completely satisfied with it. Flowers all over the place, no paths, not too many PWPs, etc), I have loved what I have seen in others towns and I have loved people helping me catalog stuff for my house.

I started out as a real casual AC player. I remember in the weeks before the game's release I had no idea how flower hybridization worked yet now I'd like to think that I have an excellent grasp (Not Philia levels!) of how it all works. I didn't know how the stalk market worked before the game's release and now I have over 10mil saved in the bank and will get more in the future.

The community is so closely linked and everyone helps each other out when they can. We're so welcoming, too. Although we have had our issues in the past with lewd jokes and such, even that was really fun.

I hope the AC community continues to prosper for many months to come. Unfortunately, I may not be as active in the AC world when Pokémon X/Y comes out, but I will do my best to contribute here and in-game.

Sometimes I get creeped out when Phineas comes by to give badges. Especially at night, since it looks like he waits in the shadows, trying to pounce me to give them to me. :(

We all will have overlapping interests outside of AC and will continue to run into each other from time to time. So when you do move to Pokemon OT town make sure to visit us sometime. So we can trade Pokemon and furniture.

well that didn't last long :(
Yep, I leave it for a few minutes and now it's gone. Such a shame.

Haha, I tried doing that with my basement but it didn't work out either.

my room looks ok right now. I'm considering getting rid of the modern wood furniture to have more room for wheat...is that weird?

It took me until midway into OT3 to join up (shame on me!) and thankfully it only took 2 days to get fully activated. Everyone I've met online has been really nice and helpful. This place is great! ∩▽∩

It's always a treat when these little communities blossom up at GAF and we can all partake in a shared experience.

The great thing about Animal Crossing is that so much of the content the game offers lends itself to a mutual exchange of items, villagers, Katie deliveries, fossils and the like. It's rare that a game is so symbiotic with GAF's community-building like this one is. Hopefully AC-GAF can keep the wheels churning through several more OTs before momentum winds down.

Almost all of my rooms are at their limit now -_-

I just keep stuffing the rooms full of as much junk as I can; need to rethink my approach, but picking up all that furniture is going to be so harrowing, lol.

Labelle gave me her mannequin today. Now I can display the Samus costume in my Nintendo exhibit.

It must be a random rotation of cookies/fireworks as I haven't seen the bongworks in my TIY yet just roman candles.
