Don't feel pissed in your cereal because I make a throwaway joke.

I quoted you but was not responding directly to your joke, rather the supposed rumours avout the 200Mhz upclock. So no need to feel special because it wasn't my intention to give you attention mr nice guy.

DF has spent the last week telling me that 50% difference is not much, now you guys tell me that 6% increase can make a difference?

An improvement is definetly welcome even if it's nothing meaningful.
Btw if Sony matched this clock frequency the GPU would be upped from 1.84 Teraflops to 1.96Teraflops. I doubt they're gonna bother unless the yields are totally unaffected and the extra heat can be well dissipated.
Still doesn't this confirm that the console isn't in mass production yet?

I assume they will continue working on the console thru Sept 1st. Lock everything down, then hit the assembly line. So we can have our systems by end of November.

XBOX ONE is almost Gold. And thats great.

Hopefully, NDAs for hands on previews get lifted soon as well. In regards to launch games.

The DF article should be interesting lets hope leadbetter does not ruin their credibility anymore then he already has.

Nice move, can Sony do this with the PS4 as well?
They probably could, but honestly why would they? They already have a sizable advantage with their GPU, and bumping the clock speed could cause thermal issues, so why take the risk?

the smaller the gap the better for everyone I think. If we're comparing the two systems, I don't think it's going to change anyone's opinion, but obviously this is good news for everyone buying the system, and for games like Dead Rising 3 which seemed to be struggling a bit with their frame rate at E3.

I mean, sure, lol, system wars, but hey, good news is good news. When I eventually get an Xbone, it's going to be a little bit better than it would have been without this up clock.

IF they can test it out then any bump in specs would be welcomed.

IMO this whole announcement shows some hidden fears of MS.

First they announce a 6% clock increase to a previously unannounced GPU clock rate? Why?

Well there were stories not to long ago that MS was asking developers what they wanted more from the XB1, this is where the 12GB RAM rumors got strong. Well apparently they got feedback that the GPU was too weak so MS went to the engineers and asked what they could get this late in the game. What they got was a 6% bump to the GPU clock.

Seems most of us were right from the era of Rieko and Satham's dual GPU wild days, they can't change much this late in the game. It also shows that they are really trying to change the news cycles buy announcing minute details only developers were previously privy to. This falls in line with all info MS has been feeding DF, they are trying to change the narrative. The days of PR from talking heads like Captain Nelson are dead, now it is controlled leaks, astro turf and bizarre tech announcements.

Sure they can but a 53MHz boost to the PS4 GPU will only add 122 GFLOPS & it only added 81 GFLOPS to the Xbox One GPU.

nothing really noticeable I think this was more about adding bandwidth to the embedded ram & if the PS4 was to get a boost chances are it would be at least by 160 MHz to add about 368 GFLOPS to the GPU.

I'm not sure how much manufacturing processes have changed, but the 360 began production in August and had a painfully tiny launch allotment, so I would hope that MS has already started production of the XB1, or their production cycle is much shorter.

With the Wii U's irrelevance for third party titles, the XBO becomes the lowest common denominator, and any boost to its performance will only mean good things for exclusives and multiplats.

I want to punch that guys face. Such horrible character design.

Why is it? I like him, reminds me of Dante from the first dmc. I think a cocky character with some personality is better suited for the infamous series than that dry guy Cole.
Now he was an example of horrible character design.

Don't mind him. The dude is a wrestling (WWE) fanatic, which explains everything.

My interpretation of CBOAT's post is it is still 33% weaker.

Yes PS4 is more capable, no getting around it. I don't get why people think its some sort of personal victory or defeat. No one genuinely gives a shit about personal preferences. The reality is there a great chance we will see excellent games on both platforms. I can't wait to see what the likes of Uncharted, Mass Effect and Gears are like on these systems.

That means nothing unless we already know what they've up-clocked it from, but since MS hasn't made that number official we have no idea.

Sure, they could have upped it by 53MHz, but might just as well be following a downclock by 100Mhz.

Besides, CBOAT has spoken.

Absolutely, but I have to imagine that from Sony's perspective the added risks wouldn't be worth trying to bump it up. I would rather they try to bump the CPU if they were to take the risk, which would probably be a bigger deal considering how weak the CPU's are in these things.

I'm not seeing why this game is getting fluffed so much here. It looks like a solid game but nothing groundbreaking.

The graphics are cool but the gameplay looks average.

That reminds me of that WiiU gif with the flying robot. It looks like a game.

Also thanks for the ones that clarify me.

53mhz is such an odd number to target. It reminds of when I was into overclocking my PC hardware and go up tiny increments, run Prime95 for 8 hours, rinse and repeat until I reached the highest speed that wouldn't produce errors.

Last minute clock speed bumps trigger a red flag to me. You can't just increase it without taking a hit on hardware reliability. Microsoft should have learned their lesson from the 360.

The gameplay wasn't average in Infamous 1 and 2, and they can only improve upon those games. So, I'm not exactly sure where you're criticism is based from.
