Designer Keiichiro Toyama hinting at a new SIREN on twitter?

If it's a new game I hope it brings back the timeline progression from the first 2 games. So good.

I like Blood Curse but it just feels like a simplified version of the first game. I need a new Siren game that's as big as the originals.

These people should have been ignored. Blood Curse was almost a quick time event game with all the instructions you were given on how to proceed.
Did you play past episode 2? This is coming from someone who played both. After the first few episodes, Han holding was turned off, and you could even turn things off on the menu.

very possible that this could be happening, I remember they put something about a siren 3 on their site a few years back but nothing came of it, might have switched to next gen

Blood Curse was brilliant. The only true survival horror this gen and I would love a new one for the PS4. In all honesty after experiencing the stealth elements of the game it was almost awkward to revisit Silent Hill games.
It was a revolutionary addition to the genre since it makes a lot more sense to sneak around the undead or any hellish creature than to fight them.

I finished the game, yes. I've played all of them (albeit never finished 2). Siren was never as hard as people made out, but the player had to be patient. You can't just run through the level hoping for the best, you had to learn the layout -- the repeated traversal by multiple characters was genius -- and you had to use sightjacking intelligently. The puzzles were obscure sure, but as the series wore on Toyama fixed all the wrong things.

Blood Curse lacked the design sophistication of the original. You were dropped into new locations but not given the opportunity to learn them, and as a result the game had to be more lenient. I don't remember switching off any of the HUD but the flooded village in particularly sticks in my mind as way too easy with hints about knocking the sign off the building and if I recall a flying shibito who was incredibly easy to hide from by going into buildings. Between the short length and easy difficulty the game felt like Siren Lite to me. I still liked it, but I'd prefer the game went back to its roots in both gameplay and continuity. I don't want a Siren 2 New Translation.

Blood Curse is the only one I've played and it was 'okay'. It would only work on handhelds or as a downloadable title in my eyes, there's just no way they can control the budget well enough for a game like it these days without homogenisation to sell enough copies.

Did they ever patch out, or add an option to use button inputs instead of motion controls for Blood Curse?

I bought the whole thing, but as a disabled gamer, had issues with all the shaking the control to escape grabs... Ended up watching the entire game on Youtube, and it always remains one of my biggest game disappointments (not being able to play it myself, that is).

So is the second one really crap? I keep hoping they'll put the European localization up on the North American store or something. I liked the first one and was kind of pissed they never brought over the sequel, but I don't think I've ever actually heard anything good about it.

I didn't like it very much. The story doesn't come together like Siren 1 and while they made the gameplay more bearable, it completely lacked of the charm the original Siren had, not to mention I had quite a few issues with it.

Why do a lot of people talk like the first two games don't exist?

Blood Curse had bad frame rate problems right? I seem to remember the split screen stuff made the demo slowdown a lot.

Anyway, my point is, the sight jacking mechanic will probably not be viable on a Vita.

well, technically, if you're good at it, you don't have to shake anything. :3

Just tweeted this:

Sorry. We are not making new SIREN. It's just 10 years anniversary.

So no new game :(

That's what I thought. They're almost certainly working on GR2. The original was his dream project and Sony Japan seems to love it. So he'll have their full support with the sequel.

I would have bought Siren Blood Curse, but its just so overpriced at $40 for a digital copy. Its a shame that it never got a physical release in America.
