Tokyo Game Show 2013 reaches record number of exhibitors

This year’s Tokyo Game Show will see a record number of 342 companies exhibiting (153 of which are from overseas), the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association announced.

The number far exceeds last year’s 209 exhibitors (83 of which were from overseas).
What’s more is this year there are plans to exhibit titles for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which will go on sale in November. Expect to see a large number of titles for smartphones to be exhibited, as well.

Better get a giant tin of popcorn ready in case of potential gaf meltdowns then

We need some kind of "phones phones phones phones" gif for threads like these.

I know people are focusing on the phone comment, but even the big japanese pubs were largely absent at E3, and gamescom. So unless Japan has completely forsaken us im hoping for at least a few solid announcements for PS4. Atleast SCEJ wont be making Phone games, and Tecmo,Nis,etc still seem largely still console focused

Interesting if Microsoft has a large showing. They pretty much conceeded Japan this generation, and are not even listing it as a Tier 1/2 country (so far). Some people expect a launch date announcement for the Tier 1 countries at TGS. I find the whole thing odd to be perfectly honest.
