XBL: Games with Gold

Should have been Vegas 2, but eh, what are you gonna do.

It will be interesting to revisit this, haven't touched Vegas 1 in five years.

Do people in the Netherlands get another game? I just signed in on my Xbox and there was a button with 'Free' on it and I'm now downloading Spartacus Legends. I've never heard of this game so I have no idea whats going on here.

Edit: Nvm its a F2P game.

Hmm, I don't remember playing R6V, that came out a LONG time ago. But I probably did. Will grab that if I remember, but Magic? Congrats to those who enjoy that stuff.
You'd think MS would want to knock people's socks off with their free games, and try to get more subscribers locked in or give people a reason to stay?
Maybe October will be Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise and Mirror's Edge.

I'm cool with R6V. Didn't ever get a chance to play it but now I have no excuse. Magic 2013 is meh but I guess I'll give it a try.

Where is my Halo 3 though? :(

R6V is much better than nothing even though I beat it already, and I rather having nothing than that Magic Gathering game which would be a waste of space on my hard drive

Something tells me they didn't want to give halo 3 away for free when they just launched two maps for halo 4.

I just checked out the RSV demo to get an idea of what to expect, and it was not as bad as I thought it would be. The control mapping is a little weird, and the framerate could be better, but I could actually see having some fun with this game.

It is unfortunate that I can't download these games until I enter payment details despite being a Gold member.

Any fellow GaFfer have suggestion if I can add them to my download history without entering payment details?

It's held up surprisingly well. Great game, everyone should download it.

I thought that people at Bungie were saying do not install Halo 3 due to performance issues.

Halo 3 was designed to cache from the disc to the hard drive to improve performance. The problem comes in because it's trying to cache to the same drive it's reading from. If anyone uses a good, fast external drive to download games to they should put it on that. Otherwise you just have to put up with the above mentioned longer loads.

I think they may be saving it for October, since it was released on September 25th, and Halo 4 GOTY comes out in October.

Probably November actually. Halo 3 would completely overshadow Halo 4 on the charts when the GOTY edition comes out if it were free in October. Halo 4 will be blasted off in November anyway so release it then.

God this Games with Gold thing is so shit.

THIS.

I know how entitled this sounds, but with the exception of Dead Rising 2 (and Case Zero) and AC2, these games are all forgettable at best. (Not including R6V as I've never played it).

Like the quarter on your birthday, it's them doing as little as they can get away with, and the best you can say about it is "well, they didn't HAVE to give you anything."

Not happy about selected games. I already own R6V and not interested in Magic
However i got R6V very late when online community was almost dead so I hope it will come back to life....at least for few weeks :)

This months games don't really interest me, but overall I've really enjoyed Games with Gold. It's really nice having digital versions of games. I missed out on Dead Rising and Assains Creed, so it was great to get those. Crackdown is a game I like having on my hard drive. Once I get a Xbox One Ill probably move my 360 to another room, so it's nice having games on the hard drive, escpecially after the sales they've been having too, I got Alan Wake, ME1, and Dragon age for just under $5 each.

Though this ruins my one first party and one third party game a month thing. Was also hoping Halo 3 would come out this month to celebrate its 6th year. Oh well...

Already have RSV, it's a fun game though for those who have yet to play it.

Magic looks interesting though, some of my friends play it and I want to see what all the fuss is about.

Magic 2013 if it came with the DLC decks would be a good deal, but probably isn't happening.

Played tons of R6V back in the day with my "Real Face" and had a blast. Terrorist Hunt with friends mostly, but the Team Modes we a blast as well.

I'm actually not upset about Magic 2013 being free, since the last Magic game I bought was 2012. But yeah, it could have been something better.

On the other hand, R6V I played, beat, and sold off ages ago. I guess I could run through the whole campaign in co-op and do some terrorist hunt. I remember really disliking the competitive mp portion, but maybe I'll give it a 2nd chance.

Yeah, the Xbox site won't let you download free games unless you give them a credit card. I have MS points on my account yet there's no option to switch to points either.

Sucks.

Edit: In fact it seems like they've removed the existence of MS points from their site entirely.

This ticks me off to no end - I can't believe what crappy websites MS makes and they seem to have abandoned xbox.com a long time ago. I can't even access my converted points on there.

I can see it, I just can't pay with it and like the person above said, with no credit card on file you can't even queue up free downloads.

I know in the grand scheme of things it's not that big a deal but it is annoying.

Apologies.

Very strange that they've now mandated you need a CC to buy anything from the web store. Has to be an error as it doesn't make a lick of sense...

I agree, it's weird.

When I learned that the next game was Magic and that it was an Arcade game I tried to go on there to queue up the demo to sort of pre-load it and that's when I found that it wouldn't let me download free items because I didn't have a valid payment option on file.

Weird.

is it possible to just make a free paypal account with nothing connected to it then link that to your xbl account so you can have access to your points?

I don't have this problem but it's just an idea.
