Somebody tag this man!! OMG my sides...

I wonder why not XBO. Makes no sense to skip a console for such a big game like GTA. Probably the code was written before the XBO versi9n started development or probable too early in the process. Maybe Sony made an arrangement with Rockstar but I doubt MS to allow it even more considering the close relationship between those two, almost every 3 months there are discounts on Rockstar property on XBL, GTAIV is still one of the best selling games in XBL.

I was already fairly committed to waiting for the PC version. Plenty else to play in the meantime between Rayman Legends, Outlast, Amnesia, Batman etc.

But this solidifed it for me. All these people saying they will double or triple dip that is the exact reason they delay the improved versions. Suckers with no self control.

I've been waiting five years for the next instalment of one of my favourite franchises, and I don't want to wait any longer.

I want to be a part of the thriving online community in October, along with millions of other gamers, including some of the great people I've had the pleasure of knowing on GAF.

If that makes me a sucker, then so be it.

If you say so!
I've been reading impressions and watching HD streams in the spoiler thread all weekend. It's easily the best looking and best performing open-world game on consoles and a major improvement over GTA IV.

Not saying it won't look better on PS4 or that it's perfect. There are occasional framerate hitches, some nasty textures and aliasing. I can understand why some people want to wait. Just sayin' it looks pretty damn good.

if it were available I'd get it for PC, I also have both new systems preordered... I'm still playing it on 360 because it's mid-September and... It's GTA 5

And perception of framerate issues can vary greatly from person to person. You call it misinformation, I call it someone else's impressions.
It's not locked at 30 or anything, but I wouldn't call it framey.

As a reference point, I played Saints Row IV and Sleeping Dogs on 360 and this is way more stable than either of those.

But again, I understand why some people are waiting. It will look awesome on PS4 / PC.

Since the last one came out in late 2009, it is weird that you've been waiting five years.

But besides, that, yeah, I'd say if you can't wait a few months and instead are going to buy it twice just because you can't wait, that is the very definition of poor impulse control.

It actually came out early 2008 unless you're referring to Chinatown which was early 2009.

And the amazing thing about well-made, diverse games like this is they're open to replayability. Getting it on the PC down the line and playing it again will likely still be a blast, not to mention when combined with the various mods that come out. This way we can play it fresh and as intended and with other people looking forward to it online. Really not that much money to expend.

From what I've heard, it looks great when you're standing still or just walking around. But once you get moving fast, you notice the lack of AA and it gets super framey.
Who did you hear that from? Lil'_Blowjob on gamefaqs?

No I'm kidding but srs super framey was a red flag

Poor impulse control? Honestly, I don't care.

I just don't appreciate being called a sucker because of what I choose to do with my own money.

I'll be having lots of fun throughout the coming months. Why should that matter to you?

It doesn't really. If you want to have poor impulse control (which is the same as being a sucker), then by all means go for it.

God damn it. If it really comes out on PS4, I may actually double dip on this. Only games I've double (or triple) dipped for are various Genesis/SNES/N64 titles.

Ballad of Gay Tony came out in October of 2009.

I'll get it on PC, but I'm specifically borrowing a friend's PS3 to play this & Last of Us. It's going to be impossible to be a part of the GOTY discussions in December without them.

Fair enough, although I don't think DLC really counts. And next installment as stated seems to imply a whole new world and the like which is what GTAV offers 5 1/2 years after the fact.
I guess that is fair but I thnk Lost & Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony were far superior to the main game and domt deserve to be relegated to "DLC" status.

If anything releases like them do well to dignify the phrase. There's nothing particularly negative about downloadable content. Suppose they could be considered expansions but I don't really feel they change enough to the base mechanics to be considered them in the traditional sense.

I'm travelling right now. When GTA5 drops in my mailbox on Monday, I'll have to wait another week. Then I will wait some months and see if the PS4 version is any good. Back in the days, around 2008, I had no 360, so I had to wait till I owned the console before I could play GTA4.
GTA is a game of patience. If Rockstar want's I will wait. I'm here, at my laptop, somewhere, and I wait.

My plan.

Ordered it on PSN download.

Hope there's some upgrade option for PS4

Wait for PC version to go on steam sale, or amazon sale. By then the mods and improvements will be in full force. Also I should have anew PC by then, though my current system should be able to play it np.

I'd buy it on PS4 just to play it with this beauty:

I remember playing GTA IV with a sixaxis (i think it was a sixaxis) and it was god awful. Use the default driving controls and it was seriously uncomfortable. Use the classic controls and it became obvious the game wasn't created with that scheme in mind (particularly shooting out of the car).

Hope they get it out during the holidays on PS4.

Not going to bother with 360/PS3 versions...I really want to play GTA5 but there's so much stuff I'm already playing, I can wait to play the superior version.
