VB wasn't VR.
And the Turbo Touch isn't a haptic feedback capable track pad.
What's your point?
VB wasn't VR.
Let's make a controller that can only be played with your elbows and tongue, it's different so it's going to be better right?Well unlike Sony and MS, at least its something different and a step in a different direction.
It usually appears that any substantial deviation from the Dual Shock Controller is frowned upon.
I'm not sure what to make of this yet.
Anyone who keeps posting this picture is just proving to everyone else they can't read and they don't know what haptic feedback is.
This was my reaction as well.
It doesn't mean it will be good, of course. I just wish people were less resistant to change.
Really? Because as a PC gamer i play in my living room with a controller.Ok well you already have sticks with a standard xbox 360 controller. And it works with games like Battlefield, Counter Strike, and Call of Duty on PC. Go ahead and try playing those games on PC with a controller. Make a video and report back so we can have a good laugh at how badly you get demolished.
Steam OS and Steambox may be trying to create a console type of experience for PC gaming, but they are not selling console games. They are in the business of selling PC games. PC gamers use mouse and keyboard at their desks to play games. If you guys were in charge of Valve would you honestly be so stupid as to try to give your customers a standard controller? How would you expect your customers to be able to compete in any online games or be able to play almost any rts or hardcore RPG? They wouldn't be your customers for long because thats not going to be a fun experience for them. Thats why Gabe is making the big boy decisions and not you.
This was my reaction as well.

The problem is not the trackpads, people. So much crow to be eaten in this thread. This controller looks fucking amazing. Getting rid of the sticks and doing away with little plastic buttons is the only way to really innovate on these things. Couple that with everyone's affection for touch interface and enough haptics to give you a sense of place on the pads???
Not sure if GAF's salty or it's actually bad.
A controller without sticks? Is this like playing on a ipad/smartphone?
Where's the D-Pad? I mean, we still like good old fashioned D-Pads too, right? This thing will suck with 2D twitchy platformers, and Steam is full of them these days thanks to the indie scene.
