XBox One Tour has started - check the map for demo truck locations and dates

I also went to the Orlando event and it was crazy. Waited from before 6 all the way to 9 and only got to play KI and try out the controller rumble demo. I was really bummed that I was the first person in line to not get a free 12 month card. The controller is way different but super similar and familiar at the same time. The sticks feel better even though they are smaller. Also the thread about the bumpers is BS the bumpers are like levers. So the very inside isn't pushable but the father out you go the easier it is the push. I'm not sure it the controllers felt better because they are a new design or just a brand new controller instead of my warn ones, but I'll go with the first statement.

Phew, just got back from the Xbox One event they had here in Orlando. Line was absolutely massive an hour before they even started.
I would not have figured there would be lines at these things. I hope the one in Atlanta coming up is dead, lol.

Holy fracking shit, that's me wearing the Dead Space tee. You were lucky, the guys I met in line and I (blue striped shirt, gray hat, black tee) only got to play the demo of the controller on the laptops and we were all in line for Forza. After waiting in line for an hour and 15 minutes, they announced the 5 minute warning when I was about five people from the front of the line. Sweet, sweet irony.
I'm blown away that for the obviously hundreds of people there, they only had two playable consoles, lol. In contrast, the Sony store downstairs has 3 PS4s available to play at all times. Played on them last Friday.
Anonymity allows douchebags to be douchebags.
Also, do the MS stores not have Xbox Ones playable still? Quite the dichotomy going on at that mall that you had to line up for hours to barely touch one of two Xbox Ones, and then it disappears, but right downstairs the Sony store has more PS4s that are there all the time ready to be played. Step your game up, MS.

Yea, I've teased him a few times on here but I never meant it. I actually feel bad for him, a normal guy just trying to do his job. Hope he starts posting here more often. He mentioned to me that he really liked reading GAF and I told him he should interact with us more and he jokingly said "Man tough crowd!". I told him not to let a few bad apples get in the way of conversation, but admittedly that's hard.
At the end I told I'm definitely looking forward to getting an Xbox One and he said 'Thank you' in a tone that pretty much gave off a 'you don't know how good that is to hear' kind of voice.

Yep, the loose sticks are one of the main reasons I hate using the DS3 and almost always pick up multiplats on 360. Sucks they've taken a step back on the sticks as it sounds like they've improved everything else. Ah well, maybe next time...
BTW, fantastic impressions guys. Wish the tour was taking place in the UK, would love to get my hands on the controller and DR3.

My pleasure guys. And another last little short story, for the whole 1+hour of standing in line, I chatted with a couple other passionate guys about all kinds of things from PS4 vs Xbox One specs (that was a fun one) and DRM reversals, to NBA 2K14 to what we'd want from the next gen Mass Effect (they were big Bioware fans like me hah). One of the guys brought his OG Xbox in a case so Larry could sign it. Unfortunately he was a really shy one so kind of felt timid to approach Major Nelson so I went ahead and got his attention and the guy next mustered enough guts to ask him if he could sign his Xbox. He did and also did a funny like act by announcing on the mic "Hey guys, check out this old dinosuar!"
He walked over to the Xbox One display in the center and held it next to it and said "Hey, here's your old grandpa. They finally meet for the first time" and everyone was cheering. Felt pretty cool. Took a pic while he was walking over to it
This was a pretty badass moment. I met MN for the first time back at PAX 09 after I had some choice words about the Avatar Marketplace pricing and recorded a podcast with him. Chatted with him again for a few minutes at the event, and it was a delight.
He's definitely a class act, and this move was proof of it. Hope to meet him again sometime soon!

They are no way as loose as DS3. I am not sure how to describe it really - It always takes some effort to get the 360 sticks out of there neutral position, and that can lead to unprecise movement, for me at lest. And that is gone - be precise every time now.
Think of moving the 360 out of their neutral position and moving them around - the One sticks always feel like that.

Good to hear they are not as loose as the DS3 sticks. I kinda get what you're saying, but I really need to use it myself to allay any worries I have about the sticks being loose.

I think a lot of people will be pleasently surprised the first time they get to try out the new controller, after hearing some of the "negative" comments.
I had the same impressions from the controller. Loved it.

Yea, but then again Microsoft just opened that store the day before, maybe they'll keep the Xbox Ones there now, not sure.
But yea, I went downstairs to Sony's store and they had PS4s up and people were playing like nothing was going on.

Got some hands on time with the PS4 but was shot down at the MS store

Just got back from playing it on campus. The general consensus among the people I talked to was 'not worth $500' and 'wish they brought the PS4'.
Some guys were playing KI and I was watching them. After they were done I went up just to try the new controller. I don't like it as much as the 360. The triggers felt weird, and the buttons didn't seem raised enough. While I was holding the controller a guy challenged me to play, so we proceeded to have a button mashing contest, of which I emerged victorious. The graphics were nice, but if you told me it was a 360 game I would believe you. Someone was playing Forza 5 too, and again, it looked like a 360 game. I don't think the small (32?) TV's did it much justice.
Anyway, it was cool to see the new console first, but there is truly no reason for me to buy this machine, and I'm a guy who bought the Wii, 360 and PS3 on launch days.
I have an MS store near me. No tour. No playable consoles. Just a controller they let you touch if you ask. Seems kinda ridiculous.
But damn those closeup pics of the controller are nice. I'm getting the PS4, but I'm jealous as hell of that controller.
Back from the Atlanta tour. The lighting Setup they had their made me nauseous and irritated. Neon colors piss me off. Got to play Killer Instinct and DR3 for a bit, couldn't stand the lights. But I'll go back on Saturday w/ sunglasses lol.

There is never a more proper use of a gif than this one.
That was KI, in every way and form. Everything just coming back into play with the game nearly immediately as I got used to using Sabrewulf. After finding his opener, combos were so easy to get out, but nowhere near as impressive as the stuff seen on streams. I need more time with the game and better focus, but I was instantly impressed. Goddamn.
Dead Rising 3
I'm not a fan of the previous titles, but DR3 proved to be something I couldn't get on the 360. The presentation was very impressive. Zombie count nearly impeccable at first glance. Visuals were top notch. Combat felt...it felt like Dead Rising, so take that for what you will. I probably wouldn't grab the game, but it's a DR game true and true.

It felt very responsive. Sticks and triggers felt very good to use. D-Pad is vastly improved from the 360 model. My only complaint is the weird bumper strap on the top, but I'll have to get used to using my fingers instead of my tips.

Awesome impressions shinobi. I wish Nelson and the tour were coming to South Carolina but I doubt they would come to where I live anyways. A friend told me that all Gamestops are getting next-gen kiosks so hopefully that means the one I go to will get one. I want to see this thing for myself before I make the final plunge.

I have a different friend who just got hired at the Gamestop that I go to and he's going to an orientation meeting tomorrow. I asked if he could find out anything and he was like "oh yes, I will be asking when the kiosks are coming".
