Any way i trust the bird and no one is going to be right 100% in a industry like this one .

And Yes, I keep getting PM's about this, I do prefer the Sony console, but I'm not afraid to post bad news, the Battlefield 4 information I am getting is the game is running at 900p on PS4, 720p on Xbone. The last I checked they were pushing for 1080p, it could happen, it couldn't, but there is a REASON I was given greenlight, it's because I presented credible and sensible information.

The question is what will be the mentality next time around (2015)? Will it be: Oh, we know what we are doing now. Here is 64-player 1080p60. Or will it be -- oh, games are pulling ahead of the hardware now, here is our concession fewer players or lower resolution or fewer frames. I get why, but it's still disappointing.

I do feel for game journos, I really do, but having privileged access to a console and its first party games a few days prior to said console's launch date, at a dedicated event and probably topped up with a nice bag full of swag and pre-digested articles is already extremely advantageous. I know this puts you guys at a disadvantage in comparison to the really big guys, but it's still a vast improvement over what the plebs get. So please, stop with the dramatic dying swan acts.

BF4 being 900p is yet another disappointment.
That Callerdooty can't even hold a stable framerate at 720p is hilarious, although to be honest, I am not surprised. Something about this just feels logical.

I don't know if it is even remotely possible (this is why I ask), but can't they just release a big patch for the game which increases the game's performance? Resolution, etc?

It's almost certainly medium-ish settings with some terrible AA solution. The only thing they were never going to alter was player count (and framerate). Everything else goes by the wayside.
That would be an unprecedented scope for a patch.

It would be amazing if they meet 1080p, but a decently 900p upscale isn't the end of the world.

Yes. 900p on PS4. Sessler was being a diva about shitty corporate practices they will never publicly condemn for fear of blacklisting. Sony is controlling the environment in which the console and launch software will be reviewed.
I would imagine they stick by the performance and player size over IQ.
They're still trying to make ground on CoD, but if you look at CoD, they are willing to put out the ugliest shit, because people do really care about that 60fps gameplay. That userbase has actively chosen performance over graphics. When BF finds it's stride on the next-gen systems, they too will need to hold fast to the performance and design consistency to retain those users.
The bigger question to me is will developers attempt to maximize PS4 in the long term. These disparities we're hearing about now, are about tool issues. That's a short term problem. But once it's solved, and PS4 and XBO versions are closer, PS4 still has much more performance wiggle room with things like GPGPU compute, are developers actually going to try to get the most out of the system, even if it means the XBO version dragging behind considerably?
Personally, I always assumed no, but thuway seemed to suggest that's exactly what's going to happen in the DF thread. Surprising to me.

Dude sorry, i had no idea you were one of the leakers... i'm not one of the haters and this is the first time i saw a post from you so i just thought you were making stuff up. I never said you were a liar, spreading false information. Anyway... i'm still kinda surpirsed that you would know the final render resolutions of a game that is not announced yet. Especially with all the stuff saying devs need more time to understand the hardwre. How could anyone know what res the devs are gonna reach on a game releasing in a year?

You can't for sure, but most developers target a specific resolution during the development process so that he game is properly optimised for a certain platform. I'm sure that is what Thuway is commenting on.
You don't just drastically change a resolution last minute.
You'll skip a lot of games this gen if you refuse to settle for anything less than 1080p.

We knew dmc was going to be 30fps a long time before it released, not sure if it was a full year but it was a good amount of time and that was from talk by the developers not a leak as far as i remember.
They will have performance, resolution, effect and iq targets set out well in advanced. maybe they exceed those maybe the don't

He know what the the resolution the game is running today... he said the things can change in the future. That's a big mistake that most people make when read some leaks... they think the leaks can't change.
The game is running in 720p today but can be running in 900p in two months or 1080p in six months... that's don't make the leaker wrong because when the leaker get his info the game was really running at 720p.
So this future game can change but I have a hard time to believe these games for launch (BF4, CoD, etc) will change.

Now you are just surmising, it could be low it could be ultra, until thruway dropped the 900p no one knew what Rez it was, dice are not stupid if they stuck with 900p @60 this will be to keep affects as high as possible (IMHOP) at this point no-one knows until the 29th.
Guys, I tried to read the whole journalists integrity arguement happened in the last hours, but I could have lost some details. I've seen Kagari's answer, that Gies, Beer and Sessler are involved, as well as PS4 review event. Anyone who can fill me up with details? Even through PM, in order to not pollute this thread with things said so many times.

cpu doesn't have any impact on the resolution the game is rendered at
The game not maintining 60 fps or having a shitty draw distance is what you'd expect from jaguar cpu, not 900p
1: do you still have a link to those replies when you mentioned the ps4 paywall? I'd love to look at the reaction then and the stance those same people now hold about the paywall.

On topic, I don't want CoD, BF4 I might get on an origin sale or PSN sale one day, depending on the performance my 7870 gets once I OC my old i5 quad and upgrade to 8 gigs of system RAM. It should be faster than the PS4 version even with pc overhead, so unless PS+ gives it away for almost free or for free, I won't have to deal with sub-native res.
The next BF should cut off the old consoles,run at 1080p and use compute for more BC2 like destruction, though, otherwise they won't get a sale from me, not even at bomba price. The launch excuse only works once in a generation.
