With Cerny and Shu, I can see them taking this Rebirth of the PS2 thing seriously and bringing back IPs from cold storage.

MEdievl.

i am ok with those. bring back the genre and pleas no F2P or Download only. It would be nice if those games also dont get a Warhawk treatment. PSX version great, PS3 ....nah. hated the online multiplayer only. i am the offline single player type of guy

I think Sony would do really well with the Crash IP. I just don't know if they would be able to get it back from Activision. There's a reason why he wasn't in PS All-Stars.

Did some of the people posting here even read the OP.

It has something to do with space.
Hear you loud and clear:
crash-bandicoot-2-cortex-strikes-back-psn-20080110081610756.jpg

the words bringing back suggests it would be more recent as opposed to
reviving or resurrecting etc

it probably is uncharted in space lol as gofreak has said

I want that so bad. To see Naughty Dog put full effort behind a new crash.

the only question would be classic gameplay (crash2) or more 3d freedom (jak&dax)?

Absolutely classic gameplay. Rayman and NSMB are prefect examples that linear platformers still have a place today if done right.

I never enjoyed any of the free-roaming Crash games. They weren't bad, but they weren't the Crash I knew.

Is it nostalgia talking or do people really want Crash Bandicoot back that badly?

Unless ND has a secret third team I'd actually be pretty bummed if their first PS4 game was a CB reboot. :/

*dodges cabbage being thrown*

edit: ^ I guess the post above mine explains the excitement clear enough :p

Uncharted in space,how?

Near future, early 'space exploration' with Nathan Drake?

Further future, more advanced space tech with new characters?

I'd bet on something more like the former, what with the visit to SpaceX recently.

Another possibility is supernatural shenanigans that take our motley heros into some alien space wonderland, but I think they'll go with something more realistic like that first option.

I respect Sony for pumping out new franchises quite often, but they really need to start embracing their past.

Definitely, i want my nextgen Medievil and Parappa.

That new 'Crash -> SCE' hint in the new PS4 launch video is killing me on the inside...

i want 90s sony again sigh not killhalo and knackpixar

sometimes modern indies remind me of that fantastic era, every genre had a chance of success in japan or in the west back then

well at least we still have resogun

Space?
Old?

Well that depends on definition of old, and many of those older space titles weren't particularly huge or big hits so would they require a build up of anticipation this big?

Naw, my money is one ZoE3 but even that's tentative.

ZOE makes the most sense when you consider the Kojima tweet. Crash would be worthless unless ND is making it, and afaik, Activision hasn't sold the rights back to Sony nor is ND going to work for a 3rd party publisher. Pretty much any old PS1 game that dealt with space is fair game right now.

Has anyone made the connection with the space thing and naughty dog tweeting from that space place a couple of weeks back????

I get what you mean, but what are Activision really going to do with the IP that's of any value? Surely they'd prefer either money for a straight purchase of the IP, or a licensing fee so they could earn money for another team doing the work?

Makes no sense for Activision to be stubborn over this.
