How's Jagged Alliance 2?

Worth a shot? I found that XCom got boring due to the repetitive missions.

(A lot) more depth, worse UI, each merc has a defined personality and its own dialogs. I find the overall atmosphere of the game to be close of a b-movie but the combat isn't really arcade-y unless you want it to (there's a bunch of settings you can tweak).

I strongly advise you download the 1.13 mod, it enhances the game greatly though if you want an arcade experience you'll have to change a lot of settings in the .ini (I can give you mine if you want). It's kinda hard to get into the game because of the UI and the tweaks needed for 1.13 but once you're in it's the best T-RPG you'll ever play imo.

As for the repetitive missions, the game is kind of an "open world", I'm using the term loosely here. Your mercs (who you control) are sent on an island to free it from a dictator, you can move your mercs on the world map which is divided in square, each square=one map. The objective of the game is to free each city and there's also a bunch of side quests you can do.

It occurred to me earlier yesterday that the trick you can use to buy a four-pack as a gift, traders can also use to buy games that, by default, are not giftable. For example:

1kisav.jpg

Becomes:
2b6sjo.jpg

Basically:
1) In one tab, add a giftable game to your cart and click the "Purchase as a gift" button (don't go any further just yet)
2) In a second tab, add the game you wish to gift to your cart and remove the game you added previously
3) In the first tab, checkout as usual

Play games is for nerds. I buy them just to look at it remain unplayable in the grid view.

Finally, an excuse to gif something from HILN:

I do love the BPM UI, though.

I'm trying to decide if I should continue playing Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning

I think I'm about midway through but the tedium is starting to get to me. I've played about 20 or so hours on it.

Does it get really good towards the end? Is it worth it?

I had the same feeling. I just started rushing through it, I think I'm close to the end now. I'll finish it this weekend, hopefully.

How do I increase my order amount in Humble Bundle?

I paid $1 for the WB Games Bundle (already had almost all of the games) and would now like to pay above average, but instead of costing me $3.5 (average minus $1) it asks for $4.5.

There's an option to do that at the very top of your bundle page. The avarage is locked at the number it was when you originally purchased the bundle.

I believe it's asking that your total needs to be that high.
Thats what confused me last time but I still got the BTA after my total was 4.5

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Good luck juniors!

I've got this afternoon to decide because tomorrow is X:Rebirth day.

To delete off the hard drive or to save it for a rainy day; that is the question.

Click on your library, click the Humble WB Bundle,

Honestly, if you want my advice I'd stop it (and I've not even played Kingdom of Amalur). As an older gamer I still love games, but my time is super limited as I always want to make sure that I'm using it in the best way. I'm not sure if you are the same way, but even without spending a lot my Steam backlog is super packed and I'm honestly totally loving shelving the last remnants of the "I have to finish the games that I start" mentality. As soon as tedium starts to kick in I boot that game to the curb and start up a new one. If the game really is good then after some time you'll probably want to come back to it, but I find that like 95% of the time if a game was starting to get tedious then I never actually want to come back to it if I stop for a bit. Which is a good thing, I'm enjoying my library so much more now that I'm totally fine with playing a 15 hour game for 5 hours, getting to enjoy the mechanics, and then moving on to a new experience. Just my two cents though.

JA2? Imho it's one the best games in the genre. I enjoyed it more then old X-Com. It doesn't have the same strategy layer, but more fun battles and some RPG elements. And better characters.

I'm usually this way but rpg's are usually the exception as it has been my experience that are usually dull moments every once in awhile before moving on to the next major plot point. Nothing about Amalur is particularly exciting though story-wise, the only thing that has kept me playing as long as I have is just advancing my character with better abilities and gear - but even that is wearing thin.

This hasn't been a Risen 2 "holy shit this is awful" but rather a slow burn of the novelty of the arcade style fighting being exposed for something that I was afraid it was: superficial.

Evening boys and girls.

What is the best way to get installed stuff from one pc to another? Bare in mind neither pc's have optical drives and I've only got a 32gb flash drive or 2 kicking around.

Thanks in advance.

The flash drives if the computers aren't connected via Ethernet. I'm assuming by "installed stuff" you're referring to Steam games, in which case you just need to copy the installation folders in steamapps\common into that same structure on the second PC.

Edit: Keep in mind that Steam will only look for existing data when you begin the installation process -- if you have any games that are half-downloaded on your second PC, you'll want to uninstall them.

Remove internal drive from 1st PC and plug it into the 2nd PC as a second drive. Transfer data and put the moved drive back in original PC

Haha, well, I could raise; I have a copy of Saw and three copies of Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime + DLC sitting in my inventory, but they're going to make me rich in a few years. The Valve games I'm saving for a HL3 giveaway, CSI: Hard Evidence I'm hoping I can one day trade for CSI: NY and Arkham Asylum GOTY is a safety net for PetriP-TNT in case his retail key doesn't work.

Edit: I misremembered who won the key, haha.

Those two are the ones that can no longer be bought on Steam, correct?

Also, I just did all the cases on Sleeping Dogs and the Triads missions, feels good. Might skip the misc quests this time around, however.

They're still available (well, in the case of Saw, it returned to Steam about a month ago, completely out of blue), I just bought spares to scalp when they're inevitably pulled again.
