You know what really blows? All of my most anticipated games don't have a scheduled release window. The Last Guardian, Gravity Rush 2, Mirror's Edge 2, Uncharted PS4, Final Fantasy XV - all are ineligible and I have to gloss over them... bollocks!
1. The Order: 1886 : We still haven't seen any gameplay footage, yet I'm insanely intrigued by this game. I like cinematic games, I like steampunk, I like pornstaches, and the screenshots seem to suggest it will play as a sort of The Last of Us/Resident Evil 4 hybrid. This will be Ready at Dawn's entry into the big leagues.
2. Infamous: Second Son : Not an Infamous fan by any means - I hated the first and merely liked the second - but this looks like a huge step up for the franchise, in the same way Uncharted 2 was compared to Drake's Fortune. It definitely represents the most wowed I've been by a next-gen game, from the hugely impressive graphics to how fun and super-smooth traversing around the city looks.
3. Dreamfall: Chapters : I rate The Longest Journey and Dreamfall among my favourite games, so this ranks highly by default, despite the fact that I haven't really seen a whole lot of it. I need serious closure on some plot-related things, and I hope Ragnar and his team will deliver.
4. The Evil Within : Given Mikami's pedigree, and given the fact that it looks like a conscious attempt to bring survival-horror back to the masses, I'm excited for this. Hokey dialogue and sub-standard character animations aside, it looks like it could be a genuine scary experience.
5. Murasaki Baby : A game that admirably straddles the line between the adorable and the outright horrifying. It draws ICO comparisons as you literally hold the hand of a freakish and defenceless little girl and guide her through a hostile world. My most anticipated Vita game after Gravity Rush 2.
6. Rime : Based on a solitary trailer, Rime has attracted a lot of attention, probably because it appeals to that audience of gamers who've enjoyed offerings from Team ICO and thatgamecompany and are hungry for more. It looks to be a seriously ambitious project from an unproven indie developer, but it's so darn pretty and ripe with adventure that I don't want to think about how things can potentially go wrong.
7. Watch_Dogs : I err on the side of caution where this game is concerned now. It blew my socks off at the time of it's unveiling, but has followed a downward trajectory since then, seemingly looking worse with every showing. It's wisely been delayed now, and hopefully it's to ensure that the finished product will be every bit as striking and compelling as the debut footage was.
8. Murdered: Soul Suspect : It's L.A. Noire with ghosts. That's all the reason I need.
9. Hohokum : Another quirky indie offering funded by Sony, but this one looks as majestic as it does relaxing. I don't know what the heck it is you do in Hohokum, but I want part of it.
10. DriveClub : My reasons for including this game in the list are shallow and superficial - it looks fucking gorgeous! It's the first racing game I've ever wanted to play just so I can drive around at a leisurely pace and gawp at the surroundings. Kind of like Journey, but with cars.
Honourable mentions - Final Fantasy X HD, Transistor, The Witness, Octodad: Dadliest Catch, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Toukiden, Lily Bergamo and Velocity 2X.
