NeoGAF votes: Most anticipated 2014 game (voting ends midnight EST)

1) Bayonetta 2; I freaking loved the first one and I'm a huge p* fan. Of course this is my most anticipated game 2014

2) Dark Souls II; After Demon's Souls and Dark Souls this is a must have.

3) Smash Bros. Wii U; As a Nintendo fan and fg fan this is a given

4) The Evil Within; Hopefully a glorious return of survival horror.

5) Guilty Gear Xrd; Finally a brand new GG after such a long time.

6) Mario Kart 8; I love kart racers and especially MK. Haven't played one since DD though.

7) X; Man I love Mechs and JRPGs, so I can't resist. After Xenoblade it's a no brainer for me.

8) Toukiden; Huge hunting game fan and this seems to be the closest to MH yet. Will keep me busy until MH4U drops in the west (lol).

9) Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze; Sequel to one of the best 2D platformer ever.

10) Earth Defense Force 2025; Yeah I waited for the localisation. I love kaiju such as Godzilla and Mothra.

1. Quantum Break : The most interesting next generation game announced for either platform.
2. Halo 5 : It's Halo and I've loved every single one of them.
3. Titanfall : Holy crap at how fun this game looks.
4. World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor : Loved the game since it launched, and can't wait to reactivate my account to enjoy the new expansion.
5. Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls : Hoping and praying for an Xbox One release. Don't want to play it on my PC, and don't plan on buying a PS4 anytime soon.
6. South Park: The Stick of Truth : Either this is going to be one of the best games of the year or a train wreck. Hoping for one of the best.
7. The Division : Looks solid and very fun to play. The most impressive visual style for me of any next generation game to date.
8. Hearthstone : I think this game is going to be the first IOS game (once released on that platform) to get any significant playing time for me on an IPAD. I just feel this is a tablet game, and I don't want to sit in front of my PC playing it. Although I have for the beta ;).
9. Watch Dogs : One of the reasons I decided to preorder an Xbox One, but the delay is fine because the launch games have been so good on the system.
10. The Wolf Among Us : Enjoyed the debut in the series a ton, and can't wait to see what's in store.
Honorable Mention #1 : Elder Scrolls Online : Not sure if this ones going to be the great or just average, but I'm hoping for some good times here.
Honorable Mention #2 : Dragon Age: Inquisition : Willing to give Bioware another chance with the series after 2. HOpefully they make it feel more like the original.
Honorable Mention #3 : Destiny : Hoping Bungie will surprise me with this one, but if it's Borderland without the humor then it may have a short shelf life for me. For some reason I think this game will not live up to the hype, and I hope I'm wrong.

1. Smash Bros. 3DS: I don't have a next-gen console, so this is my most anticipated game coming out for the 3DS next year. I do hope it's good.

2. Titanfall: Looks fun, somewhat fresh, and seeing how it's a new IP from previous makers of CoD, I am intrigued.

3. Mario Kart 8: I really haven't enjoyed Mario Kart since the N64 days, but Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS was briefly entertaining when playing with friends. Hoping Mario Kart 8 makes a triumphant return to pure awesomeness.

4. Halo 5: How could I forget one of my all-time favorite franchises? Please be better than Reach and Halo 4. This would easily be my most anticipated game if not for how much doubt I have in the game ever being good again.

1) Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes: Very much looking forward to seeing how Big Boss joined the darkside of the force.

2) Dark Souls 2: Looking forward to getting defeated by enemies repeatedly in this sadistic but awesome game.

3) Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2: Dracula starts his quest for revenge, because he really did get screwed over royally, in the previous game.

4) Final Fantasy X/X2 HD Remaster: This game really hits me hard in the feels. I'm so ready to dive into this world again.

5) Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII: I'm just curious to see...what's the point of a 3rd installment?

6) Watch Dogs: I'm hoping it's good. Looks interesting enough.

7) Destiny: Since I never played Halo, this game shall serve as a subsitute.

8) Infamous Second Son: Everything about this game just reeks of badassery! The 1st must have title for the PS4!

1. Persona 5 : I can't imagine what longtime fans of the series must be feeling. I only hopped on the train with Golden, then went back to P3:FES and even being so new to the series I cannot describe how excited I am for this.

2. Destiny : Bungie is my favorite dev, and I can't wait to see what they've got in store with this. I have a feeling there's so much more than we've been shown.

3. The Division : That trailer was amazing. Graphics, gameplay and atmosphere all impressed me greatly. Hopefully it's not a victim of Ubisoft trailer subterfuge. I'll buy into the hype, for now.

4. The Witcher 3 : Sadly, other games kept me from finishing 2, but I absolutely loved what I played. (which was a fair amount) I keep telling myself I'm going to go back and finish it off, so I better hurry up and get on that.

5. Watch Dogs : It looks like a fun world to be in. Simple as that.

6. Infamous: Second Son : Didn't play much of the first two, but everything I've seen about this game shows a ton of potential.

7. Final Fantasy X/X2 HD Remaster (Vita) : Never played the originals, so I'll be pumped to jump in for the first time on my handheld.

That's all I've got for now. Here's a few honorable mentions that I didn't include for reasons to be explained. (Note that these reasons are my own, and I don't feel anyone is wrong for including these games in their own lists):

Starbound - It would feel weird for me to include this since I've been playing the living daylight out of the early access already.

GTA V PC - I'd like to think it'll happen, but no official word yet that I'm aware of concerning a release date.

Persona Q - I don't actually own a 3DS, and probably still won't by the time this comes out, but it looks pretty cool.

Titanfall - Looks pretty great, I just don't know when I'll get to play it since I'm waiting for the PC version.

At the moment, and barring anything I've forgotten:

1. Infamous: Second Son : I loved the previous two Infamous games and they're the only open world sandbox games I've ever bothered completely. Both of time twice which is pretty unprecedented. Looking forward to seeing what they do with it.
2. The Order: 1886 : This looks like almost the perfect setting to me, a video game as though scripted by Kim Newman, I torn two ways as to whether I want to see more of it before it comes out or to go in cold.
3. DriveClub : I was a fan of all Evolution's Motorstorm games, and though this one is very different it gives me the confidence that they have the pedigree to pull off what they're attempting to do. The environments look stunning and I can't wait to speed through them.
4. Mad Max : I've longed for an open world post apocalyptic car combat game since I first saw the ads for Autoduel back in the eigities. I hope if not perfect that this at least does some interesting things and moves the genre forward. Never did like the direction taken by the likes of Twisted Metal, not a big fan of arena combat games.
5. Rime : I love the look of this one, hopefully it is as laid back and atmospheric as it appears.
6. The Witcher 3 : First time a Witcher game has been playable for me, so looking forward to exploring this world.
7. Metal Gear Solid V : This one should probably be higher, but not really sure about it yet.
8. The Evil Within : Not really played a survival horror that clicked since the original DOS Alone in the Dark and Resident Evil 1. Hoping this is something that re-invigorates my interest in the genre.
9. Wolfenstein: The New Order : Just hope this one is some good clean over the top old school fun.
10. Thief : Was a big fan of the original Thief, though never played the sequels, hope this one comes out good.

1. Infamous: Second Son - First next gen open world game, Delsin has awesome powers, Sucker Punch makes great games
2. The Order: 1886
3. DriveClub
4. Uncharted PS4
5. Rime
6. Final Fantasy X HD
7. Persona 5
8. Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD
9. Freedom Wars
10. Gravity Rush 2

1. Destiny: I am interested to see what Bungie can do producing a non-Halo game after so long.
2. Titanfall: Will be interesting to see how this species up the FPS genre after the constant onslaught of COD/BF over the last few years
3. Perfect Golf: PC golf game that should hopefully be released in 2014 - smallish development group using Unity but the people who are behind it did a lot of work on Links 2003 post-release so should hopefully be better than EA golf

1. WoW: Warlords of Draenor - New expansion always bring a high level of hype for me and going back to outlands will be fun. It's been a long time since we've had a 10 level expansion, the player stronghold thing looks fun, and on a personal note I can't wait to be able to solo farm ICC25H for Lich King's mount.
2. Persona 5
3. Bravely Default
4. Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls
5. Monster Hunter 4 (crosses fingers)
6. Persona Q
7. Dark Souls 2

1. Wasteland 2 : I'm so ready for this! I know it's not Fallout but I can't help but consider this the real Fallout 3.
2. Hotline Miami 2
3. Watch Dogs : It's pretty much Assassins Creed: Modern Day. I'm cool with that.
4. Broken Age
5. South Park Stick of Truth
6. Thief
7. The Witcher 3
8. Dragon Age Inquisition
9. The Witness

Surprised there's that many really.

1. Dark Souls II : Played Dark Souls, and am currently playing through Demon's Souls. I'm a Souls junkie now. This is gonna be great.

2. Drakengard 3 : I love me some crazy stories, yo. This game looks very interesting.

3. Infamous: Second Son : Arguably the first big thing for PS4. I'm excited. Plus, I live in Seattle. Seattle represent, baby.

4. Tales of Xillia 2 : Enjoyed the first game, can't wait for the second.

5. Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD : Didn't give this one a fair shake back in the day, and so I'm excited to play this older Final Fantasy game with upgraded visuals.

6. Monolith Soft's X : For some reason I feel this one is far off, but I see a lot of people putting it on their 2014 lists so I will do the same. I wasn't a huge fan of Xenoblade; still, this one has a lot of potential to be great. I love the Mechs/Dolls.

7. Metal Gear Solid V : I haven't played any other MGS but the trailers have me hyped as fuck for this. Not sure if the full release is coming in 2014 but at least Ground Zeroes will be out. Definitely getting it.

There are probably more but this is what's currently on my mind for the time being.

1. Dark Souls 2 - Played the shit out of Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. Loved the beta, can't wait to die.
2. The Evil Within - Shinji Mikami can do no wrong.
3. Titanfall - Having skipped the last couple of CoDs, this seems like the right game to get back in to that sort of quick multiplayer action
4. The Division - praying for no downgrade. Latest tech trailer reinforced the hype.
5. MGS: Ground Zeroes - Loved every single Metal Gear game so there's no reason not to look forward to this one.
6. D4 - Footage released so far looks so weird and cool. Kinect implementation is the right kind of dumb too. Seeing this made me realize that Swery is a really talented dude.
7. Carmageddon: Reincarnation - The world needs more driving cars to shit games. They are easily my favorite genre that almost no one else cares about. Can't wait for the early access.
8. Below - Looks very promising, love the visual style with the large scale of the environments compared to the player character. After Superbrothers I really want to see what they can do on the big screen.
9. Quantum Break - Looking forward to the Remedyness of this game. The live action stuff already was very impressive in Alan Wake. + the jacket looks really good
10. Halo 5 - Is a Halo video game on next-gen

Not sure if all these games even come out in 2015, but this is my list for now.

1. Halo 5 - 343 did a pretty great job of the campaign in 4 with a couple of blips, can't wait to see what they do where the game doesn't have all the baggage of transition from Bungie. Plus I love me Halo

2. Thief 4 - yeah it looks as though it is going to be a stinker, but hope springs eternal. Please god let it be a true Thief game.

3. Dark Souls 2 - could never get past Ornstein and Smough (frustration city!) in Dark Souls, but had a total blast.

4. Quantum Break - it's Remedy. I really enjoyed Alan Wake.

5. Dishonored 2 (or Arkane's next game) - really enjoyed Dishonored, even though I thought it fell just short of greatness. CryEngine??

6. Destiny - I'm not big on multiplayer, but i've loved every Bungie game that's came out so far, will give it a try.

7. The Division - looks intriguing, hopefully fulfills the promise.

1. Dark Souls II: It's From, it's Dark Souls - enough said.

2. South Park: The Stick Of Truth: Obsidian doing thier take on Paper Mario, combined with the excellent writing from Parker and Stone.

3. The Witcher 3: CDPR know what people want from a WRPG. They'll deliver with this.

4. Titanfall: The true sequel to Modern Warfare. Looks to be as addictive as crack.

5. Sunset Overdrive: Insomniac sticking to thier strengths and at last making a true successor to Ratchet, complete with an incredible art style.

6. Halo 5: After Halo 4 I'm interested to see how 343 respond to the critiscm and whether they can improve as a studio.

7. X: I've no plans to buy a Wii U at the moment, but when Nintendo reveal more about X, that's likely to change.

8. Lords of Shadow 2: The first game is the best Western action game of the 360/PS3 era.

9. Dragon Age Inquitistion: For the first time, I'm interested in the series.

10. Mario Kart 8: I've never actually got around to playing the series. So I'll Probabily start with this.

I didn't really put these in order, I just added them as I thought of them, but I guess you could consider it a ranking as the ones I put first I'm probably more excited for.

1. The Order 1886 : Really looking forward to what Ready At Dawn is going to do on PS4, love the setting and characters so far, it's shaping up to be quite a nice "experience".
2. inFamous Second Son : inFamous was one of my favorite franchises on PS3, glad to see they're keeping up with it. I like that there's a multitude of different powers rather than just one or two, it's like Peter Petrelli: The Video Game.
3. Persona 5 : Enough said. Hype levels are through the roof for this one. Also waiting for the inevitable Persona 5 Platinum on Vita.
4. Dark Souls 2 : Again, enough said. First one was killer (literally) and hopefully the second will live up to its name.
5. Age of Wonders III : Just found out about this in this thread, hoooooly shit I'm excited. My parents brought back a demo CD probably 14 or 15 years ago with a few games, AoW being one of them, and I was hooked ever since.
6. MGSV : GZ or the whole thing, although I doubt the full game will be released before 2015. Even though Kojima betrayed us all with Queefer Sutherland, I'm still excited for it because it's Metal Gear, and I'm a sucker.
7. Destiny : Looks great, Bungie is a great dev and it seems like something I'd like to spend a lot of time on. Class designs are really cool, too.
8. Watch_Dogs : Other than the fact that Ubisoft stole this game from me, I'm really excited. Ever since the initial reveal it's kind of been looking worse, but I'm still holding out hope.
9. Bravely Default : Heard so many good things about this one, I don't have a 3DS but my brother picked one up recently, so I'll be able to play it on that (I'm sure it's not the type of game he'd buy on his own). It looks really great.
10. X : Monolith Soft, Xeno games, looks tits. Only problem is I don't have a Wii U nor do I know someone who has one. But we'll see how it looks by the time this one comes out. :)

1. X (Wii U). But I have a horrible feeling it won't release next year...
2. Persona 5.
3. Ultra Street Fighter IV. Poison FTW.
4. Persona Q.
5. Dai 3 Ji Super Robot Taisen Z Jigokuhen.
6. Ryu Ga Gotoku (Yakuza) Ishin. Will rank even higher is the PS4 version is substantially better than the PS3.
7. Guilty Gear Xrd.
8. Sen no Kiseki sequel. Even if I'm still far behind in the Eiyyu Densetsu series.
9. Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold. And no region-lock BS this time please.
10. Gundam Extreme Versus Full Boost.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
1. Bayonetta 2 : Queen B returning to show ya'll what a character action game is supposed to be. E3 demo looked fucking bonkers fun. Greatest character action fight system returns.
2. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number : Can lighting strike twice? Yes. Yes it can.
3. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt : Strong narrative and memorable characters guaranteed. Hoping CDPR add some flair to the tired open world fantasy RPG genre.
4. Drakengard 3 : Cavia returns.
5. Quantum Break : I don't own an Xbox One, but I'm still super pumped to see how Remedy's next vision shapes up.
6. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze : Fucking Cranky Kong.
7. Wolfenstein: The New Order : I still believe, if just in Mick Gordon's destined-to-be-incredible industrial OST.
8. Titanfall : I've heard about it.
9. Super Smash Bros. 4 : Just announce Captain Falcon already you cunts.
10. X : Want to like because Xenoblade was so great, and open world RPG + mechs should be a winning combination. Weight of online will dictate how keen I really am.

1. Trails in the Sky SC: I never thought it would happen! So pleased it is.
2. Drakengard 3: This is pretty close in my mind to how much I am looking forward to Trails and I'd tie them if I could. I can't wait to see where the crazy-train is headed this time around.
3. Witcher 3
4. Persona 5
5. Bravely Default
6. Deep Down
7. Transistor: I saw some gameplay and it looked like it would be a lot of fun.
8. Broken Age: I think I'll really like this game, but the transparency of the process (basically hearing about it constantly since the KS closed) makes me less hype than I would have been otherwise. I'm still looking forward to it, though.

1. Destiny - I need a new Bungie game after being bored to tears by the last few fps I've played.

2. Hyper Light Drifter - I've never been taken in by a games art style so much, it looks amazing.

3. FFX HD - Great game + Vita = Greater game.

4. Galak-Z - Along with Transistor this was the most interesting thing Sony showed during their indie love in. It looks fun as shit.

5. Transistor - Same as above.

6. The Order 1886 - Don't really know much about it but I've been wanting to see what RAD could come up with on their own for a while.

1- Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2: Too bad this won't make it to the final list in gaf, but whatever, this is seriously my most anticipated title ever, I can't wait to see how MercurySteam will conclude the story, and all the new enhancements to the gameplay will make it an even better game, I can't wait to be Dracul.

2- The Evil Within: there is a lack of AAA Survival Horror game, but The Evil Within can be the next best thing we get, a strong return to survival horror, though I think it will be similar to the first Dead Space title, having the best balance between survival and action horror, non the less I can't wait.

3- Tom Clancy's The Division: I don't have real faith in Ubisoft where it comes to online, but I am interested to see what they are doing with The Division, It could end great, I am totally looking forward to it.

4- Mad Max: well not sure why I am anticipating this title, but it has certain magic that is pulling me in, I am waiting to see the hand to hand combat system, the violence, and the wasteland open world.

5- Thief: crazy thought, but this is as close to hardcore stealth as one could get, sure it will not be 100% hardcore, and it got many awful things like the inability to jump, certain scripted sequences, but I have a feeling over all this may end up being a very awesome and solid stealth experience.

6- The Amazing SpiderMan 2: another crazy one, it has only been a year and half or something since the Amazing SpiderMan game released, and Beenox would never have had the time to flesh out a better spider man but I am keeping my eyes on it, maybe they will surprise me, maybe they won't, but if I am not wrong, this title will have its own story, so interesting things may happen.

1. Watchdogs : After the last minute cock block of delayed launch I need to see what Ubi have been upto. My only hope is that you can customize your characters appearance, because current set up looks like a douche.

2. Dark souls II : Because I need more souls

3: The Witcher 3 : Dem graphics

4: South park: The stick of truth : Dem graphics

5: Dragon Age Inquisition : Personally enjoyed DA2 despite the flaws so looking forward to the conclusion, also looks great.

6: Pillars of Eternity : Cmon isometric action already Obsidian

7: The walking dead: Season 2 : EP1 has my interest, now get my attention Telltale.

8: Broken age : Looks great.

1) Dark Souls II : One of the last hurrahs for the PS3/360 generation.
2) Infamous Second Son : A shape of things to come for the PS4/XB1 generation.
3) Bravely Default : Hopefully traditional RPG goodness on the 3DS
4) Professor Layton Vs. Ace Attorney : Can't wait for this in the US
5) The Last Guardian : Always believe.
6) Persona 5 : I hope to hear about a US release date soon.
7) Rime : This looks excellent and I can't wait.
8) The Witcher 3 : I haven't played the other two, but the graphics look amazing
9) Watch_Dogs : My desire for this has dropped a bit.
10) The Evil Within : More RE4 but next-gen.

I'm not sure if I can list most of these games, but here it is:

1. X
2. Monster Hunter 4
3. Dragon Quest X
4. Youkai Watch
5. Dragon Quest VII
6. Bravely Default
7. Dark Souls 2
8. Fantasy Life
9. Smash Bros for Wii U
10. Mario Kart 8

X is my most anticipated game because it looks like an open world JRPG, with great graphics and possibly online mode? Yes, give it to me.

1. X: By a large magin. Exploration overload.
2. MGS V : As a huge MGS fan, I'm hoping for a epic storyline.
3. Bayonetta 2 : Must be a strong rival to W101, which was GOTY material.
4. Watch_Dogs : Very ambitious reveal, hype died down a bit, though.

Of the other games, I've either not seen enough, or they're not that hypeworthy. Unfortunately I'm not into racers enough, or else Mario Kart would be n the list.

1. Destiny - It's Bungie. After creating such an amazing series with Halo, they are becoming insanely ambitious with Destiny. Singleplayer even more massive than their previous games, PVP, Raids, and Public Events. Really ambitious.

2. X - Open World JRPG with Mechs follows after Xenoblade Chronicles. Definitely excited since I love JRPG's.

3. Bayonetta 2 - Bayonetta 2 was the best action game of last gen for me. The new gameplay looks amazing.

4. The Witcher 3 - Even more ambitious than Witcher 2 which was one of the best rpg's from last gen. Open World, more complex storylines and decisions to be made, and the finale of an amazing story.

5. Dark Souls 2 - From Software's sequel to Dark Souls, and it hasn't been made any easier. Can't wait.

6. Super Smash Bros. - Smash Bros game that seems like it plays better than Brawl.

7.Infamous Second Son - Infamous 2 was great and with Jaime Griesemer (former Bungie) at Sucker Punch, it'll be fantastic.

8. Deep Down - Online co-op dungeon crawling while you fight dragons.

9. Yoshi's New Island - Sequel to Yoshi's Island and Takashi Tezuka is producing.

10. Persona 5 - Have not played much of Persona 4 but interested in playing this one.

1. Titanfall : An Online FPS game as my most anticipated title for 2014? Even I'm shocked but this game looks like bloody fun.

2. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt : The sequel to one of my favourite RPG's of last gen. Yup I'm hyped.

3. X : JRPG + Mechs? What more could I want!

4. The Witness : Huge fan of Braid and Blow, definitely my most anticipated indie title of 2014.

5. Everybody's Gone to the Rapture : I was sold from the moment I saw the first trailer. That ambience!

6. Super Smash Bros. : One of my most beloved franchises returns. Can't wait!

7. Dragon Age: Inquisition : Despite many years of trying to like the original DA and completely despising DA2 this new entry has caught my eye ever since the off-screen footage. Hopefully they can pull it off.

8. inFamous: Second Son : If you had asked me to make this list just after E3 this title would be much higher, but after recent lacklustre gameplay footage my excitement for this game has dwindled slightly. I hope it doesn't just turn out to be 'another inFamous'. Either way I'm still looking forward to it.

9. Below : It's Capy!

10. The Division : I've wanted a game based off this type of concept for ages. I am however still very sceptical due to UbiSoft's involvement and the promises surrounding the game.

Honourable Mentions

Dark Souls II : Didn't make my top 10 despite the Souls series being some of my favourite games of last gen. Maybe I'm just tired of new entries in existing franchises and am looking forward to more new IP's.

Rime : Beautiful trailer with Ico vibes. Would probably have made the list if we knew more about it.

EverQuest Next : After countless MMO's disappointing me over the past few years my attention has now turned to EQNext. Hopefully their F2P system is similar to DOTA 2 or GW/GW2's in game purchases, but I doubt it.

It's amazing to me how many people in these voting threads can't follow the simple formatting rules. On this page alone only about 10% of the ballets will be counted. lol

1. Titanfall : This is easily my most anticipated game of 2014, and I'm so excited it's coming so soon! March 11th is so soon! I will be crushed if it's delayed by even a week.

2. The Order 1886 : I know we've only seen a trailer, but I loved the vibe it presented. The team working on this seem too passionate and smart to make something mediocre. I really hope it delivers.

3. Trials Fusion : I was a HUGE fan of Trials Evolution, so I am super hyped to see what they do with this. I'm sure I'll be hooked for weeks trying to get no fault runs on each level.

4. Sunset Overdrive : Just like The Order, we've only seen a trailer, and this one wasn't even in engine. STILL, I loved the concept and style it presented, and I still have some faith in Insomniac.

5. Halo 5 : It's probably gonna be just another Halo game, but I always enjoy them, and seeing it on the new hardware gets me extra excited.

6. The Crew : I love driving/racing games, so I'm immediately intrigued by this game. What I've seen looks fun. I hope the delay makes it an extra polished experience.

7. Hotline Miami 2 : Loved the first game. Can't wait to play more of it.

8. Mario Kart U : Always enjoy these games, and it looks extra nice on the U.

9. Destiny : I haven't been wowed by anything they've shown so far, but I still have faith it's going to be an enjoyable experience at the very least. I feel like there is a lot we haven't seen, and that has kept me intrigued.

10. The Division : I loved the look and concept of this one. NYC as an open third person shooter MMO of sorts. Might not be my thing, but the gameplay demo still looked like it has a chance to pull me in.

1. The Witcher 3 - I don't know how to comment on this, at the very least I'm expecting Witcher 2 quality in an open world. I suppose now that they've one-upped Bioware they're going to do the same to Bethesda.

2. Elite Dangerous

1. Drakengard 3: I stopped paying attention to the game after it was announced because I didn't want to spoil myself. Loved Nier, will buy.
2. Ore Shika 2: It has a unique look and an interesting idea, one of the few JRPG standouts for me.
3. Dark Souls II: Dark Souls is my gotg so I'm looking forward to picking that up.
4. inFamous Second Son: I'm not a fan of the previous entries but SS looks like it has a personality and the new powers are interesting.
5. Legend of Heroes TiTS 2: Finally.
6.Persona 5: Finally.
7. Child of Light: I wish it was a ARPG but I'll still bite. There aren't many good looking 2D games out there.
8. Everybody's Gone to the Rapture: I like The Chinese Room
9. Transistor: I liked Bastion, mostly for its setting, art and music.
10. Abe's Odyssey New N' Tasty: Stranger's Wrath was my first Oddworld game and it's really solid. I'm planning on playing through Munch's Odyssee whenever the Vita version comes out and I'll be playing this too.

1. Dark Souls 2 : My most wanted game of 2014. Since the last gen I’m a Souls junkie, can’t get enough of these games! I’m not sure yet if I like the slightly different visual style the new engine brought to the game and I didn’t like the tone of the announcement trailer, but from playing the beta I’m pretty sure this will be great again, even without Miyazaki directing.
2. Persona 5 : Finally, finally, the long, long wait seems to be over next year. We haven’t even seen a proper artwork yet, but I’m sold on this title knowing that the dream team (Hashino, Soejima and Meguro) is working on this. Will this be the first big JRPG series that can make the jump to HD without loosing what made it great in the PS2 gen?
3. Metal Gear Solid 5 : KP has something to prove after the mess that MGS4 was. But I think that Kojima really got, what needs to be done to make this series great again: forget about the simplifying of level design in order to cope with the demanded tuning up of the cineastic presentation that hurt MGS4 so much, but open the level up to a new and better experience of infiltration gameplay that not only brings new thing to the table for the sake of the new, but has its necessity in the context of the game.
4. Drakengard 3 : Yoko Taro crazyness is a thing to look forward too. The game doesn’t look that great, even without comparing it to the games of the new gen, but since it’s a miracle this could have even been made, let’s not nag about details. Character designs by Fujisaka are looking great.
5. The Evil Within : A new survival horror game and one that should be actually good with survival horror mastermind Mikami directing.
6. The Order 1886 : A new IP for the new gen that seems to make a lot of things right. It has a great setting which hasn’t been done that much and mixes shooting gameplay up with other stuff. We haven’t seen enough to really be hyped to the max, but this certainly looks like a promising new IP to me.
7. Deep Down : Don’t know about the F2P part, but it looks really nice, and the combat with direct control over the aim of your spear is something I haven’t played yet. Cautiously optimistic about this one.
8. Rime : This may help us forget all the tears we shed so far over the state The Last Guardian is in.
9. Hyper Light Drifter: Backed this project without thinking twice, art direction, approach to storytelling and gameplay, everything looks fantastic.
10. Ghost Song : Another Kickstarter game I have high hopes for.

I wish I could put The Last Guardian and FFXV on top of this list, but I think they won’t be out before 2015.

Some of these on the lower half of the list were difficult to decide in terms of the order. The top 4 are ironclad, though.

1. Dark Souls 2: The first game was the game that revived my childlike fascination with video games.

2. Fallout 4: Fallout games are special to me. Nothing beats the experience, especially the first half or so. Scrounging, exploring, finding things. Exploding things.

3. Dragon Age Inquisition: Even though I liked the first two games, this one seems to be trying to go a bit more open world which is *very* appealing to me. Videos of it give me serious Dragon's Dogma vibes (my GOTY 2012). Eagerly anticipating.

4. Monolith's X: Here's hoping.

5. The Evil Within: I love RE4 and have high hopes for this game.

6. Destiny: The good aspects of borderlands, on a higher scale, and with "next gen" graphics.

7. Dying Light: I'm a sucker for a good zombie smashing game.

8. Wasteland 2: Love my old school CRPGs, love the original two fallout games. This looks like it'll be really good. Took some effort to stay away from the beta.

9. The Division: Brace for PVP.

10: Infamous Second Son: Looks great.

In no particular order:

1. Infamous Second Son : loved the previous ones, hopefully this one delivers.
2. Destiny : a very intriguing proposition
3. The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt : great pedigree coming from the series, doubt it will disapoint.
4. The Division : if done right, this could be something I will play for a long time. Just don't mess it up with too much microtransaction stuff.
5. Driveclub : I really want a nice next gen driver on PS4, something to just pull up and enjoy on demand, a la PS3s Burnout: Paradise City.
