Chie is the worst waifu
I think they should add in the Minor Arcana too though.

For the Lisa fans out there:

That's nice.

Alright my patience wore thin after getting killed by the last boss and I just watched GiantBomb beat it and then the ending.

I'll do it myself eventually (just need a soma and some fusing to get debilitate) but the game dragged on a bit towards the end and I've really just wanted to finish it all week, thinking I got to the end about 4 or 5 times lol.

I'll take a break from the series (and possibly even from gaming. Marathoning through FFX as well as the latter half of P4 this month has worn me out). But I'll eventually try and squeeze in P3P before P5 hits.

Lisa has even more issues, and that's saying something.

Also, the proportions of that image seem way off.

Thinking about it seriously, I think I preferred Lisa because she's a more complex and interesting character as a whole. They're both relentlessly clingy to the protagonist, but Lisa's behavior has a good twist to it and
her Shadow was also one of the most interesting in the series, as she truly is kind of messed up.

Rise's cool too, though. Someone in this thread had explained how she's a very caring character, oftentimes displayed through subtle means, which is cool.

You really don't like either of them?

Nah, they're cool. Can't really think of any non-P1 Persona game party member that I truly dislike other than maybe Eikichi sometimes, but Eikichi's over-the-top narcissism also has roots in his past, which is neat.

Lisa is definitely more interesting than Rise imo, although they both have all kinds of issues. Rise's just weren't really explored much at all, she was just annoying most of the time tbh.

Lisa was also into Bruce Lee and Kung-fu waaaay before Chie was.

Lisa was kind of split into Chie and Rise for P4. She's a gestalt entity.

This is how it begins you know? First you're saving people, then you get hooked, then you start discussing stuff, then you enter this thread. Eventually you'll be spotting a Persona theme avatar, listening to all the soundtracks, buying figuring and artbooks, etc, etc.....

Then finally, when you least expect it. It consumes your soul.

pretty much what happend to me )) there is persona OST songs in my palylist, have artbooks and figures in order, etc lol

Satomi Tadashi with his infinitely more badass devil summoning waifu Tamaki Uchida.
That I will agree to, never really like his design in P2:IS, it looked kinda eh...I think his face looked way too dorky in game , here on the other hand I love.
And he actually looks kinda cute, he now looks so adorable next to Tamaki.

Aw yiss.

Say what now about who

I don't think you can be that critical about Rise's issues 'not being explored much at all' (and they sort of are) when Lisa's Shadow says some of the most shocking stuff in the entire game and it's literally never brought up or mentioned again.

To be fair, they had an entire year to explore Rise as a character. Persona 2 feels like it takes place over a couple of days at the most.

With the social link system and amount of personal one on one interaction the MC in Persona 4 has with Rise they could have done a whole lot more with her character, and all of the other characters for that matter. If there's any complaint I have about the game it's that. It's a minor thing, any criticisms I have of it are nitpicking really. No need to be defensive, I'm a fan too ;)

Sure, and I don't necessarily hold it against the complexity of the character, but
I've always felt that - after being very impressed and stunned with the moment, initially - that it was pretty cheap of the game to toss out a whole new closet of issues out there (on the cusp of resolution to one of, if not the key point of her growth in the game) so suddenly and then do nothing with it at all. It really feels like all it was there for was shock value. It bugs me.

I just can't agree that the game doesn't explore and resolve her issues, the ones that the game raises as important to her, at least, in a fairly substantive manner.

There were much more urgent and pressing matters at hand than to devote a few scenes to resolve a few character issues yo.

The "Sir or Madam not Appearing in This Game" Team

Aww, man, it'd be cool to have FeMC in PQ, too. I like the design.

Yeah I don't see how Rise wasn't resolved. I mean I poured an overwhelming amount of Yu's free time into Rise, so yeah.

To be fair I never said they didn't resolve anything about her character :p

I was trying to say I felt they could have done more with her character than what they did, considering how much time you get to spend with the cast. I was essentially nitpicking, but Rise was probably the member of the cast that stood out the least to me in P4.

MC's Hardboiled Dojima look, Gekkoukan Uniform, Velvet Room & Detective Naoto are the best costumes. So good. I'm glad that costumes didn't work as armour in P4G. They were pretty useless in P3FES&P3P.
Yeah I was bummed when MC's winter outfit is only viable for a short period of the game, then the armor you get later on just outclasses it.
Sounds like people are starting to discover secret P4A2 supers. I knew Yu had one and I thought this was Yosuke's until just now when I was informed that it's actually just a new plain super.

Someone said they saw one for Kanji and Aigis. Must be pretty "secret" if they're just being discovered now.
Everybody's getting a Dragon Install Sekkai! You get a multi-input super, you get a multi-input super, and you get a multi-input super!

I'd recommend checking out the EO4 demo if you have a 3DS. I really like it, but it's a gameplay style that's not for everyone. That being said, I'm guessing PQ will be a bit more accessible than the mainline EO games. In particular, I'm expecting less murderous difficulty and probably a removal of the mapmaking.

No kidding. Great year for J and W RPGs.

Sounds good, I'll give it a try when I get the chance. Haven't used my 3DS for anything but Fire Emblem: Awakening, PQ is probably gonna break that streak.

And once again, cheers, it is indeed a great year for J and W RPGs. I feel like a kid again.
