It can really go either way.

A game like Trusty Bell/Eternal Sonata, it didn't perform spectacularly in Japan, it likely won't in America and Europe. A second platform can boost sales which are naturally lower.

A game like Bioshock, which was arguably a surprising success for Take 2, could be even more successful and rake in more profit with another platform addition.

It's a little bit apples/oranges in cases like these.

Or you could have simply said "more platforms means more sales".

Thats your only point to begin with.
