All Nations Except U.S. Agree on Climate Accord at G-20

You say that as EPA is doing it damnest to repeal all regulations, rules etc. set in place by e.g. Obama era EPA in order to protect environment and climate.

Why?

Those pesky things are cutting into profits of mega oil, agriculture, coal and chemical corporations as they can't pollute freely.

Then we should deal with that. Pulling out of the Paris deal doesn't prevent our country from doing it's part right here.

Well ye, you are right. It doesn't.

Just looks like US government has absolutely no interest in actually fighting climate change, but instead speeding it up as they make sure mega corporations can return to polluting and making more dough.

So you may understand why people are pissed and laughing at US atm.

Look where the great citizens of the United States got us.

Well, if they get out and vote, then it wouldn't happen the way it did. It is our responsibility to mold our country. Not sit back and complain how things are when We are the reasons for the results we get. (that isn't directed at you personally)

We have too many people that care after the results aren't what they want, but didn't care enough to get out and make the changes.

Small glimmer of hope is that while the Federal government is not helping. States across the US are stepping up. Mainly states that are the economic centers of the country. Also, while Trump keeps spouting on about coal. He can not reverse the decline. At most he can give false hope to those that believe in coal.

... and that's what we need. We need our States to do their part and not need a holding hand. It'd be great if our Fed Gov't would join in and increase the effort here domestically.

Or...you could actually blame the people preventing change. What a novel idea.

Only a matter of time before some sections of the US that voted for Trump end up under water and then they go "What happened? Where's my government money to help me rebuild? Where's FEMA?"

Hm, yeah, probably best to just ignore the US when it comes to climate change for few years. Trump is trash. Hopefully we'll dispose of him soon and get a leader that's competent and attached to reality.

Interesting to see how Americans are going to handle our losing our status as the most powerful and influential country on Earth.

This pretty much;

Fuck!!!! I really wish I had the money to move OUT of the U.S.

Trump is really fucking over the U.S. for decades to come.

All in all, WE put those people there. WE need to remove them. /shrugs

(not you) Get out there and educate the People, get them to call their representatives, and if those within power won't get the message, vote them out. That's how it works. It takes the effort to do it though.

Good. Sometimes the U.S. government will attempt to lead and show the world the way, but sometimes the world absolutely needs to leave the U.S. behind and take action.

6 months in office and he‘s about to start a tradewar with the other two large economies, laughed at and mostly isolated on international diplomacy, close to start a devastating war in korea and long term allies retreating from the US.

Things are looking good for the next 3 1/2 - 7 1/2 years.

Right. We deal with the problems we cause. That's not hard to understand. We improve the way our country contributes to the climate change. What's wrong with that?

What's wrong with international cooperation? The only reason we're backing out of all of these things is that Trump and the oil lobby have put short term fossil fuel profits over the long term health of the planet.

This is true in a seventh grade civics sense, but completely ignores the powerful forces who don't want this to happen that'll have to be overcome.

That but it'd also be nice to have a system where you don't lose even when you do get the most votes, putting extreme emphasis on fucking joke states on Ohio.

Embarrasing. The US was one of the countries to get everyone on board to the Paris Climate Agreement. To see us pull out now is shitty as fuck.

Sorry, rest of the world, we'll get back to you in 4-8 years.

Like a bad kidney stone, this (Trumpism) will pass. Hopefully.

Right?

Rest of the world can't really take it on faith anymore the US won't elect another Trump or Bush though.

Why can't we just do what we can do here, and let the other nations do what they can do on their terms?

I understand it's a huge hill to climb, but we can if the People would get out there and put their votes to the fullest. We can still commit to reducing the emissions to the numbers we agreed to in the Paris deal. We just have to do it.
