Android |OT8| ConFuchsia say beta is better

Well I'm officially done with google. The vibration motor went out on my pixel randomly, so I decided to get it replaced, they wanted to put a hold on my account for the full price of the device so that I could get a new one, so I said screw that and just dealt with it, but then my headphone jack and receiver went out to, so I bit the bullet and they sent a refurb. The Refurb finally gets here and the fucking finger print scanner doesn't work on it, the option for it straight up doesn't appear. Fuck google and fuck android at this point. I'm officially out.
Get a 7+ like I did, g. Keep your pixel to watch porn.

Ditched my iphone after the keynote and got a note 8 today with my upgrade. I was pretty hesitant after being an iPhone user for the last 7 years, but my god, the things a beast and android is really really good now... Last time I used it I wasn't a fan but the Samsung skin and all their apps are great. Absolutely loving it and it's a breath of fresh air. Still getting to grips with simple things, as well as grappling with the new features on the note but it's been a fun day messing with it.

Oh and the S Pen with the drawing app PENUP is amazing, I was sketching on the train earlier and it was incredible how simple the app is and what you can get out of it. I drew a little pencil and watercolour illustration of the old guy sitting opposite me on the train and when I was done, I reckon I could've told anyone it was done on my PC and they'd have believed it. Also, dunno what the fuss is with the fingerprint reader placement. I'd call my hands average for a bloke and I can reach it comfortably, so I'm pretty thankful for that too.

i keep saying that it's a tech reviewer problem.

all the normal people with an S8/S8+ adjusted quickly and so far it seems like the Note8 owners are too.

however, the tech journalists that run thru dozens of phones have been trained wih the muscle memory of the LG style rear FP location and have a unique perspective and years of muscle memory to overcome.

I'd go along with that, I got it out of the box expecting it to be a real pain, and I was honestly a bit puzzled. My finger sits on it just fine. The iris reader works really well for me too, which was something else I'd not expected from reading reviews. I could well just be lucky, but it's really quick and almost freaky how it unlocks as soon as I glance at the top of the phone. It probably is a bit weird to use on the fly when you're outside, but that's what the fingerprint reader is for I guess. When I'm just sitting down though, it's spot on.

I was going back to through my old google photos and holy shit, my Xperia Z3 Compact photos are absolutely awful compared to my S7/S7 Edge photos. I don't think I was shooting in the proper mode or something...

I wonder if they were originally saved using Google's unlimited storage setting? There still shouldn't be this much of a difference, haha

Quick feel of shanghai phone scene. Tons of iPhone 6 to 7 out there. Most ppl use that weird ring thing and that hovering accessibility thing for some reason (never saw the appeal once Apple built their home buttons more sturdy).

Besides that tons of Huawei and honor. Some oppo. Few anything else.

those ring things are great for using big screen phones with one hand (helps to reach all the corners). don't know how that'll work now with the glass backs and wireless charging though

Alot of butt plug looking jewelry for headphones Jack's too.

No one uses Bluetooth headphones here. But I rarely see them in the US either besides some coworkers with neck headsets. Even most joggers are still wired up.

i see a ton of soccer moms with those LG neck headsets and the occasional random twenty something with wireless beats solo.

When I flew at least twice a month I saw tons of Bluetooth headsets, mostly beats and Bose.

I actually have one of these on my 7+ and it's great for one handed use when walking in the street or just setting it down to watch a video/play music.

Unfortunately it doesn't work as well on the 7/7+ compared to other phones because of some weird coating on the iPhone to make it waterproof so you're gonna need to stick it on a case.

lol that sucks balls. Get an X and don't look back. It's the true X FON.

Also, that is a weird as fuck problem with the fingerprint scanner. I can't even begin to imagine how that phone got back into rotation.

So my iPhone 6's battery is more or less entirely fucked (one hour LTE browsing uses around 50%) and i'm not retarded enough to spend 1150€ on an X.

I still love bezel-less designs though, so the LG V30 and of course Samsung's lineup have crossed my mind. Is it still worth getting an S8 (Plus) or would I be looking at a Note 8? I don't really need a pen on my phone though.

Is there anything else in terms of flagship devices I should take a look at right now?

Is there any way to make it so that Google Play Music doesn't read my internal music? I prefer using a seperately music app for that and use GPM solely for the online music service.

QC35 is everywhere on flights. I'm curious how well they noise cancel?

I have some Plantronics that work OK but get a bit heavy after a few hrs.
They are flat out amazing. Taking them off after a while is a huge shock as the sounds of the plane come back.

My eyes have completely adjusted to the jello effect on the oneplus 5 now. Don't know if I will hold onto this or get the XL 2. Call quality on the oneplus 5 is the best of any phone and the speaker gets really loud. Phone doesn't get hot at all even with gaming for hours. It's fast and doesn't struggle with anything. Battery life is beastly.

It was only a few design decisions away from perfection

1440P screen would have made it perfect for me. It's actually ip67 water resistant. They just didn't pay for the certification.

I want them to reduce those top and bottom to allow for a bigger screen. Don't care if they don't go 1440p. They just need to improve the quality of their OLED panel. I want to see them at 5.8 inches at the very least. I also want the width of the phone reduced a little more. Keep the headphone jack, offer up to 256GB storage if you're not going to give people sd card expansion, and most of the upgrades should be put into the camera. They did a really good with battery optimization last time and it looks like Android O improves on battery again.

Well, since it's clear my Firefox for Android install is broken beyond repair, is there any way I can back up my user data so I can get my bookmarks and passwords back when I reinstall the app? I tried plugging in my phone to my computer and couldn't find anything.

Not using Firefox sync?

Yeah I wouldn't mind less bezel and thicker op6.

They basically flattened it which increased the bezels lol.

They should take a note from Apple. It's OK increasing phone dimensions every year lol.

I think might "downgrade" from my nexus 6p to an xperia xz1 compact when they are out here. Want something small.

Huh, Samsung finally updating the S8 to let you disable the Bixby button.

Not the entire service, or remap it, but at least stop it activating by mistake.
