Are Trader Joe's some of the worst laid out stores?

It's (almost) the same company; Aldi stores in the US are operated by Aldi Süd. Trader Joe's is a subsidiary of Aldi Nord.

TJ's is at least logical in stuff is in department sections. ALDI is some 3rd world market type of layout, nothing makes sense and you are forced to navigate in a convoluted manner. Oh here is some ham.... next to some paper towels... ok...
 
Right, there’s logic behind the design. Confusing doesn’t equal bad.
From a consumers perspective it’s bad and confusing. I realized what was going on early in my life and as someone who almost never impulse buys I find it frustrating and insulting.

Just another reason retail stores are a no go for me.
