Beyond Skyrim is an upcoming mod that aims to recreate Cyrodiil, the country featured in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, but set 200 years after the game. Players will explore Bruma, the northernmost city, and its surroundings in the Skyrim timeline. Future releases will include the rest of the cities, but for now, it's the Bruma area only (which is 1.5x bigger than Dragonborn DLC). Beyond Skyrim: Bruma will release for original Skyrim first and then be ported to Special Edition later this year.

Enderal is an entirely new game, likely more ambitious than this release. And the combat/magic system/exploration are all better than base Skyrim!

I've need to try it out, but I'm always leery of fan writing. Content/Open World, bring it on. Quest writing, for some reason it always goes cringe with me.

That said, does Enderal work with SSE? I usually play around in the Oldrim due to SkyUI and wealth of gameplay mods.

Enderal actually has better writing than Skyrim.

As a matter of fact, Enderal is all around better than Skyrim in almost every respect. I can't believe it's free... it is so good I'd gladly pay $60 for it.

It only works with base Skyrim, though. But they have added a ton of new textures themselves.

Well, your and animlboogy's reminders have me looking towards it. If I do a LTTP, I'll be sure to memorialize you guys.

if you legally bought Skyrim at launch, you technically did pay $60.

I think they mean $60 to the mod makers rather than the price they paid for the game.

This looks pretty cool. Popped up into my recommended videos in YouTube.

Introduction

The 3rd century of the Fourth Era is proving to be a bleak time for Cyrodiil. Once the undisputed power of Tamriel, its dominance now hangs by a thread. Across a province scarred by the Great War, the people are growing uneasy. News of the Civil War in Skyrim, rumors of a potential new Dominion invasion, and an Emperor who is but a shadow of his predecessors undermine the authority of the Mede Dynasty. Several powerful factions are openly questioning whether the Mede Dynasty is still capable of ruling the Empire - although they all have their own ideas about who should replace them.

And to make matters worse, unfinished business left over from the ancient First Empire is stirring deep in the ruined Ayleid city of Ninendava. Far more dangerous than the squabbles of powerful mortals, it watches patiently, preparing to settle a score that was long ago left unpaid...

They've even been working on some original tracks:

I am so excited about this. If this project is even made halfway into reality it would be impressive... glad to see it taking its first steps out the door!!

Actually, this mod aims to create all of Tamriel, including island states.
