Borderlands (2024) Official Trailer

WTF

I love Cate Blanchett, think she's beautiful, but she's 50 something years old. How did Steve Buscemi as her fellow teen counterpart not get in this movie?

I also love Jack Black, but he's not right for claptrap. I also like Eli Roth's horror stuff. I saw someone post that he's the director and I had to double check. What a disappointment.

This looked awful to me, all around Guardians ripoff too.

: DDDDD Fuck, I see you are trying hard.

1. You use quotes when you quote someone verbatim, word by word. Back to elementary school.
2. You quote what is distilled in your tiny mind reading my posts and try to frame my persona with your degenerate lunacy.
3. I said: BG3's combat is inferior, because it wastes your time with old, cumbersome, outdated mechanics. Enemies do their moves one by one, instead of doing it in parallel (where applicable and do not rely on each other's outcomes). I said BG3 owes part of its success to the influencers who give fellatio to anything that feels trending, no matter the quality, since it's all about reach, likes, views, and exposure. They are in a dependent relationship with whatever they cover. I'm not gonna repeat myself about the praise I gave to the game, do your homework.
4. I'm not even going to start with the humor thing. Just go back and read what I wrote and forget about hostility, generalizations and the like. It's just criticism, not anti american, not hostile in any way, just my take on the current state of affairs.
5. You only hear what you want to hear. When you read someone's take on something and your brain shuts down after the first sentence that creates cognitive dissonance in your brain, maybe do not get into an argument.

"Geezus fucking Christ.". In order to be a great analyst, you first have to know your biases. You have some, time to work on it.

I love Cate Blanchett but she's too old for this part.

Gina Gershon as Moxxi, though... that's some choice casting.

But yeah, Eli Roth as director means this movie will probably be mediocre anyway.

I like a lot of these actors, but they're terribly miscast. Kevin Hart as Roland is especially egregious.

With that said, this seems like the least obnoxious iteration of Tiny Tina so far. It might not be completely unwatcheable. I just hope it's fun enough to get through all of that.

I love Cate Blanchett, and she seems to be the king kong here, but this is below everything. When will NA people understand they can't make humorous movies? They don't understand humor, they don't have humor. Those who have, are rarely exposed. With Carlin's passing, humor went down the drain, US is without humorous people, at least in the entertainment industry. This is cringe, vicarious embarrassment maxed out. Just give these game adaptations to South Korean production companies for fucks sake.
You put the entire industry of comedy on one man’s back and then claim that it died with him. This is the equivalent of people here saying ‘there are no video games to play’ when last year and this year are loaded with releases.

Oh, wow, you’re really going to high road me about how to debate, after you multiple times used ad hominen, probably the biggest no-no in debating, on other people in a prior thread? This is like a kid who can’t ride a bike criticizing someone who can’t fly an airplane.

”You only hear what you want to hear”. Bruh, you’re the one constantly belittling people’s opinions by acting like anyone who has those opinions are easily influenced, manipulated, ignorant, etc. It shows how little faith you have in anything you’re saying if your argument can’t stand on its own two feet but instead has to rely on making baseless claims about other people’s intelligence.

Also, I already caught you in a prior thread lying about your thoughts on Baldur’s Gate 3 overall (so not just the combat*) based on what you had said in a thread before that one where you flat out called the entire game mediocre. You said that, flat out, stop trying to handwave it away.

*also Dungeons and Dragons had already skyrocketed in popularity several years before BG3 released, funny how it become such a huge success despite having the same “old, cumbersome, outdated” mechanics. Oh, let me guess, “the influencers brainwashed them, man!”

You know what, you truly deserve the ignore button. What’s the point in talking with someone if they’re not even genuinely honest about what they’re supposedly arguing for? I’d still roll my eyes at a person who rants about crazy shit, but the dishonesty truly crosses the line for me. Oh, and the ad hominens for that matter.
Okay, you just regurgitate your own vomit again and again. Since you are not paying for sessions and I'm not your psychiatrist, I just leave you in your own piss. Go on, continue.

It looked ok, it has the same kinda tone of the 2nd game onwards (the first game is a bit more serious in tone) but the cast though a great bunch of actors, are far too old in general and they should've gone with a much younger Lilith, Cate Blanchet is a fantastic actor but far to old for this (then again her as Hela in the MCU was fucking stunning so she can still look hot)

You walk away, I never walk away from a debate. You can't win this. I'll mount you and you'll be my horse, just keep pushing your fucken bullshite and you'll be walking on all fours and neighing like an equine. And I like horses.

Did not look terrible, but not really good either. Casting seems off, visuals a bit too on the cosplay/porn parody side, some AI powered rotoscoping (Waking Life/ A Scanner Darkly) might have been better. The producer seems to do some good stuff, while also some direct to DVD quality. I only played 1 and a portion of 3, plus the Telltale game, so I am hardly an expert, but the games felt more like they could work well as a series and not necessarily as a big screen experience. Some episodes finding new team members, some episodes traveling fighting finding clues for the vault and ending with opening it.

Personally I would have preferred the original Claptrap voice actor at least for the nostalgia,
Claptrap voice filter means pretty much anyone can play him. But they are not gonna cover up Jack Blacks voice when they got him.
Honestly couldn't even tell that they switched VA's for him between 2 and 3 until listening to them back to back

But yea everyone just sounds wrong.

Who greenlit this? Who is the target audience for this? Looks remarkably shit in every way imaginable.

At least everybody has heard of Barbie…

Gonna go against the grain here, and say this actually looks like a ton of fun. Kevin Hart as Roland is a huge miscasting, but I can kind of shrug off the other castings choices as not too bad. Lilith and Tannis too old, but eh. BL always had stupid humour so I'm not even mad about the humour displayed in the trailer. There's bound to be stuff wrong with the film, but I think it will be a fun watch nonetheless.

Exposing the sinister cartel of retailers who allow companies to pay for advertising space.
A piss joke AND a poop joke in the same trailer: is this the state of modern humor?

That trailer did nothing for me. Childish toilet humour and from the look of it, boring by-the-numbers CGI action.

Yawn.

I'll pass on this one.

Horrid casting, save for Gina. Even in her older years is extremely sexy, as Moxi should be.

I’ll give it a shot, but I’m not optimistic.
