When you try to look at things objectively, this is top class espionage from the Russians. It's completely surreal and ridiculous but it would appear that they pulled it off.

I'm not sure you're viewing it as objectively as you think you are, but I'm open to the possibility that neither am I.

Spiro Agnew actually resigned due to corruption charges completely unrelated to Watergate. He had been accepting bribes as governor of Maryland and County Executive of Baltimore prior to becoming VP, and resigned when those deals came to light.

That's not to say that it won't come out that Pence is also tainted here, but it's probably unfair to draw a direct parallel to the Nixon Administration with regard to a potential VP resignation in this case.

Call me cynical but I don't trust the GOP to do anything here.

I think with every one of his failed projects (healthcare bill, travel ban, wall) he loses more and more supporters within the party. If Trump becomes an active liability to the party I can see them excise him. It's not like during the election when they felt they could just grin and bear it and assume he'll go away after a couple of months.

I just went on foxnews out of curiosity. Of course their front page is a headline saying a bombshell is coming to prove Obama spied on Trump. Not a single mention of evidence of collusion. Fox News is the most popular news channel in America. This is how and why out country has gotten to where it is now.
