COD Champs also known as The Call of Duty® World League (CWL) is the official esports league developed around the Call of Duty video game franchise from publisher Activision. CWL formally launched in December 2015 and is now into its fourth season.

Professional players from around the world compete in Call of Duty®: Black Ops 4 with the goal of collecting CWL Pro Points, which are used for seeding at official CWL events, with eyes on the ultimate goal of being crowned the Call of Duty World League Champions.

With an $800,000 first place prize pool (plus championship rings), it's all to play for in the final season of non-franchised Call of Duty esports.

So the interesting part starts later today after the previous days skirmishes, a quick summary for GAF who isn't really arsed but some people might watch the highlights rather than follow religiously

Day 1
The Pro teams dominated the two positions in all their groups. However, the major upsets was GenG, who were the number 2 seed in the tournament, were eliminated on day 1. GenG, fighting in pool B, were defeated by both Fuego Gaming and Team War - both Amateur European teams. They exited the competition alonside RBL Esports, Mazer Gaming, Animosity Esports and LGND Status GG.

Only 3 pro teams failed to make it to bracket play (GenG, Midnight Esports and UYU).

Day 3
Splyce, Team Envy, and FaZe Clan all failed to win their first round match in the Losers Bracket, meaning that they have now all been eliminated from the $2 million competition. FaZe getting knocked out this early definitely comes as a major surprise, as they came into the week being one of the favorites to hoist the majestic trophy on Sunday. They will take home $25,000

Team Singularity - the amateur team - has been one of the biggest surprises at this year's tournament, and claimed another prestigious scalp (Envy)
