Just announced on his twitch stream:

https://www.twitch.tv/daigothebeastv

Also, his first Book will be translated into English and available at EVO 2016.

RIP MAD CATZ.

Daigo hasn't left Madcatz -- it looks to be a partnership with Red Bull while he's still sponsored by Madcatz. (MarkMan also confirmed this in the stream chat, for anyone wondering.)

Edit: RIP Madcatz after all?

I got ahead of myself in the story/news on @DaigoTheBeast, please look forward to the latest news and updates! Best wishes at StunFest, too!

I don't work at MCZ nor can I speak on their behalf. Pls keep that in mind as I have nothing but respect for them. https://t.co/5uZzUGHxzV

2nd Edit:

RIP for Madcatz for real now.

Daigo “The Beast” Umehara has joined Red Bull, the legendary Street Fighter player announced on his live stream late Friday.

Red Bull has updated its Japanese website with Daigo’s new profile, and his management has confirmed Daigo’s new deal in a statement with Yahoo Esports.

In addition, Daigo will no longer be sponsored by Mad Catz, but he remains in an “alliance partnership” with the peripheral manufacturer.

The beast is unleashed! @daigothebeast joins Twitch as a Global Brand Ambassador!

It's less a story of Daigo ditching Madcatz and more a story of Madcatz not renewing anyone's deals, isn't it?

Either way reb dull is far more prominent in regards to competitive sports as a whole so seems like a good thing for the dude.

I wonder what does he get from the sponsorship?

I remember the FGC big names mostly just get their tourney and lodging costs covered, that's it.

EG boys get a paid salary and are quite well off even before the jobs they have seperately I remember hearing. The top of the tier is quite good

Daigo is rumored to demand a $30,000 tournament fee for appearing at conventions and stuff. He's not hurting for money.

$10,000 I think.

I think that one is also for tourneys that he doesn't already plan to attend so people won't try to have him do exhibition matches everywhere.

I remember Justin Wong mentioned he needs the day job to stay afloat.

Also Infiltration, best SFV player WW by a huge margin, lives in a tiny pad with an empty fridge and shared bunk.

Maybe just Daigo then?

Cos I remember hearing from Mark that da beast was at the point where he could scoff at six figure salaries

Yeah but I don't think that's representative of how much money infil actually makes. His apartment and all his travel comes from Razer and he's won enough money from tournaments that he could probably do whatever. He's won EVO three times and a bunch of top 8s, won two games and a car at the 25th anniversary tournament, back to back capcup top 8s and countless major titles. He's been the most dominant player in the world of three different capcom games over the past five years.

As someone who lives in Seoul with an empty fridge, his fridge is only empty because you don't refrigerate Ramen

When you get paid to travel the world all year, spending money on a place you are hardly at seems pointless.

So Red Bull basically serves as his translator while Mad Catz stays as Daigo's sponsor.

Could a mod please edit the thread title?
