Yup, this is Xbox 360 vs Ps3 level of differences. Xbox fans have no reason to switch, in the same way PS3 fans didn't. The power difference will be much more noticeable in 1st party games however, where the games are specifically tailored to the platform.
Calm down, son. No one has quoted me. People are saying they fucked up and admitted to it. I'd like to know how and a link. I've read how in between the five minutes of me asking and you getting mad that I asked.

wow
as of this morning I know exactly 0 people who are going to get the xbone - the last handful of "lets wait and see" guys just cancelled their pre orders because of this
So basically, the PS4 version looks better, runs considerably better and does this whilst managing 56% more pixels (900p) over the Xbox One versions 720p resolution. To me if anything, that sounds like more than a 30-40% performance difference. If they dropped the XO version to 720p, I'd have at least expected the frame rate to stay solid. Fact that it runs at a lower resolution and still has these performance woes with heavier frame drops etc is what surprises me.
Penello am cry. Let the games do the talking indeed. Lol.
Then why images without this blur looks way better... Like is FXAA there just to blur image and not doo any aa work?
Yeah, hilarious indeed.those same folk who were banging on about the smaller gap last gen did their own 180s
I don't know about that. The level of difference is far greater than 360 v PS3.Yup, this is Xbox 360 vs Ps3 level of differences. Xbox fans have no reason to switch, in the same way PS3 fans didn't. The real story here is both of these new next gen systems are well behind a modern mid-range pc and that is appalling.
Racist!!!

To me PS4 Multiplayer looked better than Xbox One Single Player which I found very suprising. More in my impressions video.
I expected only a resolution difference. Not a higher resolution, better effects, post processing, AA and a better average frame rate. As you rightly mentioned, these additional improvements won't have come cheap in terms of resources. They seem like a lot more than 30-40%'s worth.
I am happy to eat crow. I didn't think there would be much of a difference at launch if any, evidently I was wrong. The PS4 version is clearly the superior version here.
What's a mid-range PC?The real story here is both of these new next gen systems are well behind a modern mid-range pc and that is appalling.
Can we all stop perpetuating this stupid idea?
There is no such thing as diminishing returns.
Compared to some of the screenshots I've seen in the PC thread, the IQ of the PS4/XBO version looks pretty horrendous.
There is still a long way to go in terms of improvements. Biggest crime of this game is the fact it'll run at sub native resolutions. 1080p and a good quality AA solution makes a world of difference image quality.
I also wonder whether these versions have AF.
What's a mid-range PC?
Original DF images adjusted for the Limited RGB that the X1 was recorded in.
For what it's worth, I hate the crushed blacks.
DICE has already said the XO version is missing many features, such as AO so it really isn't a good comparison to judge on.
True 'fanboys' weren't going to switch anyways, but we know they only really make up a small percentage of the people buying either platform.
PS2 was the last of that gen I bought. Xbox 360 was my main console last gen. PS4 will be my main console this gen.
People who care predominantly about multiplatform games have every reason to switch from 360 to PS4. Losing backwards compatibility killed a huge advantage Microsoft would have had in leveraging the online 360 user base.
reasons not to switch... they're basically none existent. I have to make a new friends list. That's it.
So, AO is "many" features now? Shit gets spun out of control here.
I don't know about that. The level of difference is a lot far greater than 360 v PS3.
Nevermind the smoother framerates and AA; the fact it's rendering at 50% more pixels says it all.
And yet no-one managed to build a complete PC rig that can compete with the PS4 if not for spending at least 600/700 dollars or more in the other thread with the PC comparison shots.
As someone who'd rather sit on the couch and play games on the big screen, this will do very nicely for 399$. Not to mention that it will only get better from here on out.

Well, I wouldn't call worse IQ (50% lower pixel rate), sometimes even sub 720p, worse framerate, aliasing issues, etc. ...... a win and I wouldn't walk away happy from this.. but hey.... to each his own.I think most people who where interested in the Xbox can walk away happy from this comparison. Considering the hype for the differences in the PS4 and XBO versions, this was a non event. It's not pronounced enough to deter someone who was interested in getting MS new system. But there is enough of a difference that PS4's fans can whip out the gif's and feel superior.
Its a win win.
They said AO and sorta implied it wasnt the only thing thats being added. I'd assumed they would have been a bit more specific if its another "big" feature though.
Do we know if the sharpening filter in the XBox One is a fixed function part of their scaler?
That look is going to really fatigue the eyes during long play sessions. And it's ugly.
Wow, trying to catch up on this thread is almost impossible. When you put it like that it is certainly a big gap, I wonder if the rumoured OS issues for Xbone is dragging its performance down as it shouldn't be that huge of a difference right? In real terms however, I would prefer better effects and such over extra FPS and pixels. Or both, yeah actually, I will have both please.
Anyway...
DICE has already said the XO version is missing many features, such as AO so it really isn't a good comparison to judge on.
DF images should be removed altogether as they are not representive of anything than DF incompetence.
Damn ps4 version is a blurry mess
The blurriness compared to the One of the PS4 shots are not how it will look like right? there is something wrong with how it was captured?
Calm down, son. No one has quoted me. People are saying they fucked up and admitted to it. I'd like to know how and a link. I've read how in between the five minutes of me asking and you getting mad that I asked.
Dude they're on record as saying there is other stuff to tweak. Chill...Still. They only mentioned AO, and it becomes "many", which then becomes "tons", which then becomes "The day one patch will bump the res up to 1080 and the framerate to 60 with 16xMSAA guys!"
This weird game of telephone is getting out of hand.

CoD2 looked way better on mid-range pc's than on 360 as well. When I played Stalker in 2007, there was nothing even close to it on consoles. The real story here is both of these new next gen systems are well behind a modern mid-range pc and that is appalling.
Internet videos = compression. Not a great indication. It's interesting what results you get when you do a twitter search for xboxone ps4 bf4
Looks like to the average (read casual) gamer, there's hardly any difference. I think Microsoft are slightly relieved on that front.
