Retcon? What retcon? You do realize that the franchise freely utilizes the whole "multiverse" thing on a regular basis, right? There's literally over a dozen Digimon continuities. Though the only instance where Digimon were explicitly created by humans was in Tamers, but still. The mechanics of Digimon tend to vary a lot between continuities.
