Dragon’s Dogma 2 players discover you can mass kill NPCs to gain more FPS

Capcom’s anticipated high-fantasy RPG Dragon’s Dogma 2 launches on March 22, and everything we’ve found out so far about its gameplay has only served to heighten enthusiasm for the release. However, it seems the game currently suffers from frame rate-related performance issues, and while the developers are in the midst of trying to fix things, players are also coming up with possible solutions, and they don’t seem to mind getting NPC blood on their hands for some “extra FPS.”

With official confirmation that NPCs are the problem, players have jokingly come up with a way to “optimize” Dragon’s Dogma 2 for the time being – killing off inessential NPCs.

This approach might break the hearts of Dragon’s Dogma 2’s developers though, as one of their goals in designing the game was to make the player feel responsibility towards “death” and the lives of NPCs. This is why they made it so that NPCs no longer respawn infinitely

If it’s this simple then Capcom should just implement a citizen density slider in the settings menu. Easiest way to optimize.

If it's like the first game....well...Wait until they realize that after 7 in game days npcs respawn and the framerate will drop off a cliff

Genius. Deprive yourself of content for a higher frame-rate,

Really make you wonder if these fuckwits actually like games or just fap to their graphics.
Or do the NPC's quests and then kill the NPC and see if you can take their stuff. Would be interesting if every NPC actually has a loot table.

Don't the npcs respawn after 7 in game days. This was how it was in Dark Arisen.Did they test this yet in DD2? Cuz if they didn't they are gonna realise they wasted hours doing fuck all if everything resets after 7 days...

Because the game doesn't have quest markets you're unlikely to know how much damage your doing!

Remember side-quests in this game typically start with a rando NPC approaching or otherwise signalling to the arisen that they have a job for them, and I believe this is done dynamically so its extremely easy to break a quest chain by killing someone not yet announced to be involved.

Thought Capcom said NPCs have perma death within 3 days if they aren't resurrected at the morgue.
