I had to double and triple check that this wasn't old news, but it looks like it is on fire AGAIN.

i actually stayed there before, left right before the first fire happened. Like i left the day before. They really should change the name lol

Wasn't there another skyscraper in Dubai that caught fire last year? I honestly thought this was a thread bump.

Seems to be under control now.

Edit: it was same building! Damn.

THat's really weird, it's like a vertical stripe up the side of the building.

Maybe it was in some kind of pipe or elevator shaft?

Provided there isn't significant ingress into the building, I assume they can send fire fighters inside. Unlike Grenfell tower, this is a new building with assumedly good fire suppression systems, so it should burn itself out if they can keep the fire mainly limited to the outside cladding.

Getting everyone evac'd from the building is actually impressive.

Now if they'd just figure out how to stop making the building become a literal torch.

If I'm reading the pictures and the plans right, this fire and the last one seem largely limited to the balcony areas of the apartments, which probably explains how it's out so quickly.

So when will they finish Torch Tower's companion building, the Conflagration Station? I hear they're going to save loads of money constructing it with gasoline soaked paper mache instead of traditional materials.
