Being tied to Origin would have killled it on arrival anyway but this is still sad news. Game has been in development for ages.
I find this horribly hilarious. EA has not known what dto do with CnC since red alert 2.
This studio was the Bioware 2nd studio before they rename it right?
"We closed a studio and we are blaming the fans".
I won't miss the idea of a FTP C&C but why close the studio?, you could just told them to make a full game with the same assets.

Surely they will repackage the assets from this game in a retail iOS game, this is EA we are talking about.
Fucking EA man
The shittiest studio to ever grace this planet
Tragic how C&C has gone these past couple years. C&C3 was a step in the right direction but the series just floundered after it's release.
F2P bubble starting to burst? Or is it just the wrong business model for the audience?
So this image finally came true huh?
I'm an old gamer, big fan of C&C, but for me C&C is 1995 and 1997 C&C and Red Alert: Single player, polished, kind of slow pace, good music, live action cutscenes, charismatic sides.
I couldn't associate the new game (f2p, multiplayer, fast micro), to the C&C name. Glad they cancelled it. Sorry for the studio.
This studio really has nothing to do with Bioware, they just slapped the name on another team as they have been doing for a while.

Electronic Arts has canceled its in-development free-to-play Command & Conquer game, according to a statement posted to the game's official website today, and disbanded the development team at Los Angeles-based Victory Games.
"The team at Victory Games will be disbanded," an Electronic Arts spokesperson confirmed to Polygon. "Wherever possible, we are working to help these talented people find other opportunities within EA."
reading some tweets by employees it seems that specific blog post was a surprise to them too
