great sales for AC6. Now lets see the legs.
Ac v opened a little higher ~185k but physical only ( I believe it was never available digitally) so unless their were supply issues japan tends to launch 60 40 physical to digital so probably nearing 280k , definite a good start, if ac 6 can do just half of ds3 ww , that's huge growth
Also good to see the current gen version substantially outperform the last gen re4 by comparison was basically even

Switch lost a little ground. But this this was splatoon season last year with coming out in 2 weeks, going to fall behind 22 by about another 300k, mario wonder should gain back some ground, then lose some again to pokemon, I think switch will probably end up down about 400k to 500k this year, only around a 10% drop not bad
Should be interesting to see the ps5s first non constrained holiday

Mario Wonder themed OLED should help (if real), i think 2023 will get a little closer to 2022 because it has a week 53. Considering Switch was initially selling like it would fail to reach 3.5 million this year then i think anything around 4.5 million would be a tremendous recovery and a great year.

The total COMG score for AC6 on the last day was 145, so it wouldn't surprise if it ended up selling 280k when you combine physical and digital.

For fucks sake... why do two Japanese games with the exact same missions select style, insane missile spam and ridiculous story telling both abbreviate to AC?

Now when people say AC in gaming I won't know if their talking about Ace Combat or Armored Core, half the conversations about the games will be exactly the same.

Is Sony still producing PS4?
I thought Sony stopped the production of PS4 hardware

Thanks to Armoured Core, PS now leads Switch in terms of the top 50 third party retail sales in 2023.

TOTAL: 3.124.095
NSW: 1.550.458 (49.6%)
PS5: 1.172.372 (37.5%)
PS4: 401.265 (12.8%)

Credit to Nocturnal for the calculations
This stat kind of blows my mind, Nintendo is such a monopoly in Japan. Most third party studios would probably be dead without western sales. At the very least, they wouldn't be the same companies they are today.

How do you know?
we've gotten physical digital splits in Japan a few times before, If there are physical shortages, it might go 50:50 like totk or Monster Hunter Rise, but they usually come in favoring physical a bit, Some more niche publishers like Nihon Falcomare 80% physical, the numbers though are just conjecture based on history

There must still be stock around (fairly certain Nintendo doesn't produce the 3DS in any reasonable quantity either.
In March 2022 they said they will no longer be reporting updates to PS4 hardware shipments but didn't say it was being discontinued so they are probably producing a very small amount.

Depends on the studio, many are taking advantage of the Switch but there are several who are not.

It's also important to note that the ratio will look very different by the end of the year. In 2023 PS' third party support is stronger in the first 8 months, while Switch's third party support is heavily concentrated in the final 4 months.
